Mrs. and Mr. Smith

Chapter 2778: The Power of Prohibition

"This is what's strange. Actually, this body has long lost its life; it only relies on the strangeness it carries to move, and this is just the weakest among them."

Aiden conveyed to the two.

And when the flesh completely perished, a cluster of orange light transformed into a sinister ghost face.

It flashed through the air and then emitted a weird, screeching laugh, disappearing before them.

The three didn't linger much longer, quickly arriving at the bottom of the valley.

When Ethan Smith's foot stepped on the ground, he felt an extremely sticky sensation.

As if he was stepping on viscous blood that hadn't solidified for thousands of years, he had to exert significant effort to lift his foot.

Silence! Infinite deathly silence!

This was Ethan Smith's first impression.

"Ethan, don't wield the Ancestral Fire's power. The stronger the power, the more likely it is to trigger even stronger strangeness. This is my first time here too, let's explore thoroughly first."

Aiden gestured for Ethan to extinguish the flame of the Ancestral Fire.

Under the mirroring of a huge celestial body in the sky, a layer of strange colors spread over the sky above the cliff bottom.

Like soap bubbles executing love in sunlight, except this color is heavy with blood, giving a suffocating feeling.

Moreover, these bloody foamy colors gave Ethan an extremely chilling sensation.

Once Ethan's Nine Heavens Condensed Pupil's gaze fell on them, they actually started rolling, then suddenly vanished, as if they had vitality, avoiding his gaze once it sensed danger.

Bang!

At this moment, a wriggling energy suddenly surged, and that bloody brilliance swept the three inside.

In an instant, they seemed to enter another eerie space.

The scene before them suddenly transformed, turning as though they were pulled into an alternate dimension.

"Watch out, strangeness is arriving!"

Aiden wielded the Sun Chasing Bow in his hand, with a solemn expression on his face.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Following a series of dull footsteps, nearly four-meter-tall Giant slowly approached them.

Dragging behind it was an overly exaggerated gigantic ax, stained with flesh and blood from countless kills.

Its skin had a stone-like color, and in its massive head, there was only one blood-red eye right in the middle.

After a few rotations of that eye, the pupil suddenly fixed on Ethan and the others.

Whoosh!

A fierce energy swept up abruptly, and the gigantic ax slashed horizontally.

Courting death!

Frederick Cohen roared, kicking the tip of the ax blade with one foot.

With a dull sound, the ax and his foot held against each other in a deadlock.

The Giant's eyeball suddenly protruded, filled with countless blood vessels.

Instantaneously, it transformed into a blood-red eye, exuding explosive energy from its body.

On its stout arm, thick ropes of blood vessels bulged out.

A terrifying force transmitted to the gigantic ax, sending Frederick Cohen's entire body flying.

"Not good!"

Aiden's face changed dramatically.

The scene before them began to distort, folding up into a space thin as a sheet.

In an instant, it fell into the space where Frederick Cohen crashed, and then a terrifying shock wave swept out fiercely.

Ethan's body flashed through, releasing countless punches in a blink.

In a sky full of silver brilliance, the Giant's body was directly torn apart by Ethan's fists.

The scene before them transformed again, returning to its previous state.

At the original spot, a sinister consciousness remained.

Nine Heavens Holy Sword!

The Nine Heavens Condensed Pupil opened sharply, and blinding Golden Light tore through.

Instantly shattering the consciousness, its viscous blood-like energy was absorbed into a Jade Bottle.

"Oh damn, that hurts!"

Frederick Cohen staggered out, holding the Jade Bottle with one hand.

At this moment, there was a significant wound on his chest.

Yet his flesh was continuously wriggling, recovering rapidly.

"Idiot, didn't you sense that Forbidden Power earlier?"

Ethan shook his head speechlessly.

After the strangeness enveloped them, there was a clear prohibition in the space.

Touching it with divine sense, it was evident that the Forbidden Power was a Sacred Aura Prohibition.

Which meant during the battle with the Giant, they couldn't use any Divine Power.

Otherwise, that prohibition would explode, linked to a blood vessel, connected to the sky of the alternate space they were pulled into, and Frederick Cohen directly violated it.

"I sensed it too, but I wanted to see the consequence of triggering it. Its power was indeed significant! If it weren't for the recent fusion of so many Hearts of the Holy Kingdom, I might not have withstood it."

Frederick Cohen rubbed the back of his head.

"This might be the lowest level of strangeness here. If encountering stronger strangeness, such actions would be seeking death, and the stronger ones have high awareness, guiding you to touch prohibitions."

Aiden was speechless.

Ethan pondered the power here, furrowing his brows.

How exactly is such strangeness born? Ordinary consciousness devouring each other certainly couldn't produce this capability.

Could there be some kind of power or magical artifact at the cliff bottom that enables these evil consciences to generate such strangeness?

As they progressed, several more clusters of strangeness pulled them in.

Yet, after some battles, they easily resolved the strangeness.

Collecting their energy into the Jade Bottle.

"These strangeness creatures are both strong and weak! If abiding by their restrictions, these strangeness creatures hold no real danger without triggering the restrictions."

Aiden analyzed with furrowed brows; these battles were surprisingly easy.

This eased his strained nerves a bit.

The ominous energy within the bottle gradually accumulated.

"Alright, give it another five or six days, and the task is nearly done! Then we can sever ties with the Order's Guardians."

Frederick Cohen swung his fist.

"I feel it's not that simple. Order's Guardians pushed the four of you forward, granting so many resources, unlikely to just let you leave easily. Based on the task's difficulty, the conditions seem odd."

Aiden shook his head, feeling things were still complex.

In the Abyss at the cliff bottom, at the endless end of the strangeness.

A man knelt slowly, his face unusually pale.

If Frederick Cohen were here, he'd surely recognize the man as Ythran, who previously delivered the sect task.

Before him, a Monk stood up slowly, with a curious smile at the puddle in front.

The reflection within it flickered continually; upon closer look, they were indeed Ethan and the others.

He seemed to have long anticipated Ethan and the others' venture into the cliff bottom.
