Mr. President Begs for Remarriage After Seeing Our Kids

Chapter 9: Chapter 9 Such Enviable Feelings

Yan Xi quietly watched Xue'er's face, filled with anticipation, and replied softly,

"Fake."

Xue'er's expression stiffened for a moment as she looked at Yan Xi with a subtle expression.

"Then... after the surgery, will it be difficult for me to conceive?"

Her voice trembled a bit, and she appeared quite pitiable.

If it had been any ordinary patient, Yan Xi would have offered some words of comfort at this moment, but Xue'er was her romantic rival.

Yan Xi looked at her calmly, her tone indifferent,

"There are no absolutes in anything, so Miss Zhao, you should be mentally prepared."

After speaking, Yan Xi walked past Xue'er, thinking to herself that she really was not a good doctor.

Hearing this, Xue'er's eyes reddened and she caught hold of Yan Xi's arm, asking in a low voice,

"Dr. Yan, do you not like me?"

She's just realizing it now?

Yan Xi stopped walking, her gaze falling on Xue'er, forcing a professional fake smile, "Of course not, Miss Zhao is my patient, and as a doctor, I naturally take good care of my patients."

"But I will do my best to preserve your uterus, giving you the chance to conceive a child with President Yu."

Xue'er bit her lip, looking cautiously at Yan Xi, clearly not believing her words.

Yu Siting had not found anyone in Xue'er's hospital room and had come to Yan Xi's office, where he overheard this conversation.

Seeing the brilliant smile on Yan Xi's face stiffened Yu Siting's expression somewhat, and a sense of resentment rose inexplicably within him as his gaze toward her grew colder.

Lips pursed, Yan Xi noticed the man's figure, her eyes twinkling with amusement as she removed Xue'er's hand from her arm.

"Miss Zhao, I'm very busy. If you don't have anything else, please don't cling to me anymore. Go cling to your beloved."

Following Yan Xi's gaze, Xue'er turned and saw Yu Siting standing not far behind her.

She laughed tenderly and walked over to Yu Siting, wrapping her arm around his, displaying extraordinary affection.

"Weren't you busy with company matters? How come you are here so early?"

Yu Siting shifted his gaze from Yan Xi and looked down at Xue'er, who appeared reliant on him, his deep dark eyes flashing with a complex emotion.

"I was worried you might be bored, so I postponed an emergency meeting."

Xue'er's face was touched, "Although it is rather boring staying in the hospital, I still hope you handle your work first before coming to be with me."

"Your grandmother was already against us being together, and I worry that if she learns of this, she might blame me and prevent us from being together."

Xue'er's voice was soft, her words tinged with sadness.

"It won't happen."

Yu Siting looked up just in time to see Yan Xi walking back to the ward, not sparing them an extra glance throughout.

Her indifferent attitude suddenly made him realize that her ultimate purpose in maintaining their marriage was for the Yan Family.

And he was just a tool.

His complexion turned ashen, his eyes darkening as he looked in the direction of Yan Xi's office.

Noticing the change in his mood, Xue'er looked up at him, her hand hanging at her side tightening.

"Siting, what's wrong?"

Yu Siting withdrew his gaze and replied softly, "I'll take you back to the ward."

Xue'er didn't ask further and obediently followed him back to the ward, her gaze flickering with malice as she lowered her head.

Mrs. Yu was not accustomed to staying in the hospital and was making a fuss about being discharged.

After finishing her work, Yan Xi went to escort her back to the old mansion.

She supported the elderly lady's hand, chatting and laughing as they stepped out of the elevator, but the old lady stopped walking just after they stepped out.

A flicker of confusion crossed Yan Xi's eyes, and following the old lady's gaze, she saw Xue'er, one hand on Yu Siting's arm and the other holding an apple, eating it leisurely as she walked.

"Yu Siting!"

Mrs. Yu's face sank immediately.

Zhao Xue'er hesitated for a moment, holding an apple in her hand. Her expression changed several times, and she quickly threw the apple into the trash can next to her.

"Mrs. Yu."

Her voice carried a hint of worry, her look distant.

When Mrs. Yu saw her hands tightly clasped around Yu Siting's arm, she nearly passed out from anger!

"You shameless woman, do you know he's already married?"

Zhao Xue'er's face turned slightly pale, and she stood rigidly in place, her eyes wide with astonishment as she stared at Yu Siting, filled with confusion.

"You, are you married?"

Her voice already quivering with sobs, tears dropping like pearls from her eyes.

Yu Siting did not answer, his brows deeply furrowed.

Yan Xi stood quietly beside Mrs. Yu, her gaze lifting to the man in front of her.

Indeed.

His eyes, filled with a cold, sharp gaze, rested upon her, his expression scornful, as if blaming Yan Xi for her "scheming."

Clearly, he thought this encounter was a contrived coincidence she had arranged.

"Go upstairs first."

Yu Siting removed Zhao Xue'er's hand from his arm, his tone as soothing as jade, making one feel warm.

But this warmth was never meant for her.

Zhao Xue'er did not want to leave, her tear-filled eyes looking pitifully at Yu Siting, brimming with grievance.

"Siting, are you really married?"

Her face was deathly pale, and she was in a hospital gown, her frail appearance like one that could faint at any moment.

Mrs. Yu was furious, about to speak again, when Yan Xi interrupted her.

"Grandma, there are too many people here, it's not good."

Mrs. Yu, caring much about appearances, saw the bustling crowd at the hospital, her expression hardened, and she gave Yu Siting a stern look.

"Come home with me right now."

The old lady commanded firmly, with Yan Xi supporting her as they left the hospital.

Once they were out of the hospital, Yan Xi sighed with relief.

Thankfully, Mrs. Yu hadn't blurted out in her anxiety that she and Yu Siting were a married couple.

Life in the hospital was boring, so gossip spread quickly, and Yan Xi did not want to become the subject of idle chatter the next morning.

She helped Mrs. Yu into the car, while Yu Siting was slow to leave the hospital.

Yan Xi withdrew her gaze from outside the window, softly soothing Mrs. Yu's emotions.

"Grandma, let's head back first, I believe Siting will handle everything."

Mrs. Yu sighed, a hint of reproach in her tone, "You trust him too much, which is why Zhao Xue'er had the chance to brazenly confront you!"

Yan Xi remained silent.

After waiting a few minutes and not seeing Yu Siting emerge, the old lady coldly instructed the driver to start the car.

Half an hour after they returned to the Yu Family old mansion, Yu Siting arrived from the hospital.

His expression was calm, his deep black eyes less sharp than they had been at the hospital.

Clearly, he had managed to soothe Zhao Xue'er's emotions, hence his relaxed demeanor.

Yan Xi shifted her gaze away from him, a hint of self-mockery flashing in her eyes. What an enviable affection indeed.
