Mr. Brian Wants to Get Married Every Day

Chapter 37 - Sending Joey to the Orphanage

Chapter 37: Sending Joey to the Orphanage

Olivia didn’t even frown. She was about to take out some money when Tiffany stopped her and smirked.

“If you don’t want things to get out of hand, I advise you to consider carefully whether you want to do this or not.”

Tiffany looked at the bruises on the boy’s body. The man was not a fool. He quickly understood what she meant and changed his words.

“$300,000, I won’t take any less. After all, I’ve raised him to this size. You can take him away if you want.”

His voice grew softer and softer, so much so that she couldn’t quite make out what he was saying. He sounded extremely guilty.

Olivia stared at her cousin with her mouth agape before teasing her. “Could this be the legendary auntie who bargained for low prices in the farmers’ market? Cousin, if you go up and argue with them, no one will be able to out-talk you.”

Tiffany rolled her eyes at Olivia, then took out her bank card and threw it to the man. She pulled the little boy and prepared to leave.

The boy looked at the man with some reluctance and then left without looking back.

When the boy reached the car, he refused to get in.

Olivia squatted down and stroked the boy’s head. “Child, although he’s your father, he didn’t fulfill his duty. Leaving now might be a better choice for you. I’ll find you a good orphanage and visit you every week, okay?”

The boy looked at Olivia, who had a gentle voice, and nodded. However, he still refused to get into the car, which made things difficult for her.

“My body is so dirty. The car looks nice. I’m afraid of dirtying it.”

The boy didn’t want to make things difficult for the two beautiful girls, so he revealed the reason he didn’t want to get into the car. It was a Lamborghini, after all.

Tiffany liked purple, so she put on a purple coat of paint, and the car was a light purple one.

Olivia’s heart ached as she picked up the boy and gently placed him in the car before getting in.

“Don’t think that way. You’re a handsome boy too.”

She then took out a wet tissue and wiped the boy’s face. After wiping his face clean, the face of a handsome boy appeared in front of her. Olivia took out a mirror and looked at the boy.

The boy was a little shy and couldn’t believe that the person in the mirror was himself.

The boy’s facial features were very well-defined. He had a small mouth and a somewhat thin face, which made him look melancholic and handsome.

Olivia couldn’t help but reach out to scratch the boy’s nose and smile.

“What’s your name?”

The boy blushed immediately. He had not been treated like this since his mother was hospitalized.

“My name is Joey. My mother said that she wanted to divorce him as he doesn’t have the ability to take care of me, so I was supposed to stay with her.”

Olivia pulled Joey’s hand as he gasped in pain. She hurriedly pulled open his sleeve. There was a ghastly wound, and the blood was already dried on his clothes. She could hear the sound even when she tore his clothes apart.

What exactly had he gone through to end up like this? Her heart ached. How could such a young child go through so much?

Joey held back his tears and looked really pitiful.

Tiffany sent the two of them to the villa. She stayed behind to talk to Olivia for a while before leaving. The maid brought Joey to take a bath. Out of maternal instincts, she shed tears. As soon as he entered the water, the water became muddy.

The boy seemed to have not taken a bath for a long time. After washing his body, the traces of old and new injuries were exposed. The boy was not as lively or cheerful as his peers, nor did he feel any pain.

The maid carefully wiped the boy’s body and took a lot of effort to wash it clean. She then applied medicine on the boy before putting on the clothes she had prepared.

As expected, clothes made the man. A handsome boy with a hint of melancholy in his eyes stepped forward. The clothes fit him very well. He looked at himself in the mirror and felt that it was unreal. He liked it very much but did not dare to think about it too much. He was afraid that he would suddenly lose it.

Olivia beckoned for the boy to come to her side and caressed Joey’s face lovingly.

Uncle Ford was also very fond of him. He actually took candy out of his pocket and handed it to the boy.

“Uncle Ford, where did Brian go today? Is he coming back at this hour?”

Seeing that the two of them had reconciled and were still concerned about each other’s whereabouts, Uncle Ford felt very gratified. It seemed that Olivia was also a person of the trade and not a blockhead. He looked at the sky outside and took out his phone to check the time.

“Mr. Ford went out early in the morning, but he should be back by now. Before he left, he told us to make oatmeal for you. He said he wanted to eat your stew when he returned.”

Olivia felt warm in her heart. She had no problem adopting this child. However, it was different now that she was married to Brian. He was also a business tycoon, and this could easily cause unnecessary trouble, so they had to discuss it first.

Joey lowered his head obediently and looked at his toes with his eyes. He looked very pitiful. Eating a rotten steamed bun hadn’t alleviated his hunger, so his stomach started rumbling.

Joey’s face was flushed, and his eyes were filled with fear as if he had done something heinous. He looked at Olivia apologetically, tears welling up in his eyes.

“I…”

Olivia patted the boy’s head. “You must be hungry. You don’t have to feel sorry. I will treat you to some good food.”

She got Uncle Ford to bring up the oatmeal and placed it in front of the boy. Joey’s eyes immediately lit up as he swallowed his saliva. However, he didn’t move his spoon for a long time, so Olivia picked it up and fed the boy.

Only then did Joey open his mouth and start eating. The fragrance lingered on the tip of his tongue for a long time. After downing a bowl of oatmeal, he was still somewhat unsatisfied.

“Thank you, Miss. This is delicious.”

The child looked obedient, sensible, and sweet-tongued.

Uncle Ford liked this child very much. He was a lonely man with no children and had been alone ever since his wife passed away.

Judging from Olivia’s words, it seemed like she wanted to take care of him herself and was only planning to discuss it with Brian. This was a good thing. Since Olivia and Brian were both busy with their own affairs, the responsibility of taking care of the boy would definitely fall on him.

The moment Brian entered the house, he was pulled to the second floor by Olivia.

Uncle Ford was chatting with Joey downstairs when he realized how pitiful the child was. He hugged the boy tightly and coaxed him.

Olivia was a kind woman, and Brian was not a hard-hearted person. However, he could tell from her words that the boy’s father had ulterior motives. If they did not go through the procedures, he would probably cause trouble, and it might not end well.

Brian thought carefully before replying.

“I also agree with adopting this child, but it’s too sudden now, and his father is that kind of person. If things get out of hand, it’ll be troublesome. Let’s send him to the orphanage to observe and see if his father will do anything first.”
