Mr. Arley's Woman

Chapter 6: Chapter 6

Mosha leaned forward and asked, "You're not Levin's ex-wife, are you? Whose name is ... Lovia."

"Livia, Sir," Hana corrected. "And yeah, I'm Levin's ex-wife."

Rexton's hard-earned trust now vanished when he found out the true identity of Hana Vian was Livia Rylee.

"No way. How could a woman who only stayed at home become a professor, even at a young age? You're playing something, right?"

Just as Livia was about to respond, the hospital director came in and interrupted, "I'm sorry, Mr. Rexton, I have some important document left over, so I have to pick it up."

Mosha was furious that someone dared to interrupt their conversation, but he couldn't act rashly in a place protected by the government directly.

"Dr. Livia, is that you?" the man was shocked as he approached them. "You're here. Why didn't you call me?"

"Doctor Ramsey, I'm sorry. I'll see you after this," Livia replied as she got up and shook his hand.

"Wait, isn't Mr. Rexton going to meet Prof. Vian?" Ramsey deliberately entered with the excuse of leaving things behind in the case he wanted to see whether the doctor who was always rumored about in the medical world truly existed or it was just gossip.

"I'm Hana Vian, but you can call me as usual," Livia explained.

"Oh God, now I believe if the person called the hand of the god is you. I—"

"Mr. Ramsey, how do you know Livia?" asked Mosha, who had been listening to their conversation and felt interested.

"Mr. Rexton, Dr. Livia studied directly under my guidance. I did think that Dr. Livia could be a prominent doctor when she successfully performed surgery at sixteen. She was a genius and skilled student. I was disappointed when she suddenly decided to stop being a doctor. But who would have guessed if she is now a great doctor? Now, I'm sure Simon's surgery will be successful."

When he saw the reaction of the director, who was once a well-known specialist doctor, so convincing, Mosha couldn't help but believe in Livia again.

"I believe you then," Mosha said to Livia.

Before continuing the conversation, Livia asked Ramsey to leave her alone with Mosha. Ramsey happily left them because Livia promised to see him when her business with Mosha was done.

When they sat back down, Livia spoke to Mosha, "Mr. Rexton, since I'm only a few days in Willberg, I'll operate on Simon after all the examinations are done. That's if you agree to it."

Mosha's eyes lit up when he heard that. "Of course, I'm with you on that. I'll give you whatever you want, Livia. Money? One of the buildings in the Ghena City? Just name it, Livia. I'll give it to you."

"You don't have to pay me. I accepted the operation because Simon is Levin's friend. He has also helped me. But I have one request." Livia opened the small bag she was carrying, took a photo, and handed it to Mosha without removing her faint smile. The fact is, deep down in her heart, there was a turmoil that could not be expressed in words.

"You must know the person in the photo, right?" she continued.

The sparkle in Mosha's eyes disappeared instantly while holding the photo. He didn't even want to look at it for any longer, so he crumpled it. "What are you giving me this for?"

Livia was leaning her back on the sofa, then spoke calmly, "The person in the photo is my relative. I'm willing to perform surgery if you withdraw your search for him. I know the person who ordered the search is you. Isn't it too much to throw away a million dollars just for his head?"

"So, is it true that he is still alive?" Mosha asked with eyes turned red from anger.

"Yes, of course. You did search because you thought Jayde was still alive, right?" Livia turned to ask. She suddenly remembered an incident five years ago that gave her body goosebumps. If Jayde hadn't booked two flights with different names to distract people looking for him, they would have burned alive on that plane. She never expected that Mosha would be so cruel as to sacrifice others.

In reality, she didn't need Mosha to stop the search because Jayde had already changed his face. But her mother's face was still the same, and of course, some people might recognize her face as Jayde's mother. It would be dangerous for her if people looking for Jayde came to Kovinvilles.

"Livia, I don't want to do this because you're the one who will operate on Simon, but I will never let that guy go."

With Mosha's hand movements, the two bodyguards who stood behind him moved forward and stood on Livia's right and left side while pointing a gun at her.

Mosha replied with a smirk on his face. "No wonder five years ago you were seen with that man in the photo. It turned out that you were his relative."

'Photo? Wait, if it was five years ago, Jayde and I were together at the Moon Hotel and airport. Could it be someone had taken our photo besides Bart?' Livia's thought.

"What a coincidence that you know where he is. You can take me now to the person who killed my son."

Livia didn't look surprised, even though two guns were pointed at her. She remained calm - didn't lose his grace when crossing her legs. Instead, she smiled faintly as she replied. "Mr. Rexton, let's talk about the truth. I knew you'd accused Jayde of your own son's mistakes. Your son was driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol when the accident happened until he crashed into Jayde's car. You did manage to trap Jayde, but Jayde's friend managed to hack the police system. He got evidence hidden by police officers and spread it online. The police had no other choice but to release him. But, on the day of his freedom, you ordered someone to kill him. Even now, just for Jayde's head, you continue to increase the amount of money."

"Fuck the truth! If my son didn't survive, then no one should survive!" Mosha shouted.

Livia took a deep breath before speaking, "It seems you have no intention of accepting my request. Then I hardly can operate on Simon. Even though I want to help Simon, I can't do anything because you refused it."

Mosha had already lost his patience. He stood up and took his bodyguard's gun. Point it right in front of Livia's forehead. "Don't think I'll be afraid of your threat, Livia. I can get another doctor to operate on Simon. And you, you're going to die at my hands right now, so that bastard will come out of hiding!"

"Then do it!" Livia moved her head forward until her forehead touched the tip of the gun.

There wasn't the slightest fear in Livia's voice. Even her eyes were full of determination when challenging Mosha.

Livia's courage, of course, made Mosha even angrier and prepared to kill Livia.

How did Livia survive after causing a fury to the second most feared man in Willberg?
