Chapter 539: Important Message.
Storm Hawk has already fleeced everyone. Her party was like a swarm of locusts. That swarm has eaten everything available. There is little left for him to eat and entertain his party with, so he won't bother throwing a party.
This doesn't mean he won't celebrate his breakthrough. But what he wants to use to celebrate his breakthrough is to collect his gambling winnings and use some of the money to enhance the power of his weapon.
He is also thinking of creating other weapons and artifacts that will take advantage of his magnetic field or enhance the power of his magnetic field.
He is not sure that the latter is possible. But he is eager to try it.
But before he could go and start working on his weapon, his sect ID card lit up. He pulled it over to himself to check what messages were on it.
As he did so, he curled his lips and said, "I bet this is from Stella. I wonder how she likes my magnetic field."
He pulled the ID card over to himself with his divine sense, not his magnetic field, even though it contains some metals. This is because he didn't want to accidentally destroy the ID card by pulling on its internal structure.
The sect ID card is an example of a formation that he can easily destroy. The formations on his hammer are also an example of formations that are now vulnerable to him.
This is because these formations have no barriers protecting them from external influences. So it will be very easy for him to scrap them.
He can destroy the sect ID card easily, but it won't be an achievement because the sect ID card has always been easy to destroy. It was not made to be durable at all.
If he destroys it, he will have to pay for a replacement. He doesn't want to do that because the ID is expensive.
What would be an impressive achievement is to replicate the ID card. That is something that has become 90% possible for him now that he can easily sense some of the engravings in the card even without using his divine sense.
Not that he needed the ability to sense metals in the card for him to be able to replicate it. His divine sense and the virtual copies in his mind working day and night to parse the symbols and runes that he sensed in it are more than enough for him to replicate the ID card.
It was with this thought and the anticipation of stumping Stella's senses that he looked at the ID card and checked the messages on it.
There were indeed messages from Stella. There were many of them, and she expressed frustration and anxiety in not being able to tell if he was fine or not.
These messages made him grin. But he had to quickly become serious when he saw the messages from the council of elders.
The first message said, "Congratulations on your advancement to the Golden Core realm, Daoist Lightning Tyrant. It is of great importance to the sect that you have advanced. The sect has grown stronger because of you."
The second message said, "Please make yourself available for a council meeting that will take place in one month. This council meeting will be held at the council hall in the inner sect."
The third message said, "The council meeting will be held to welcome you, give you gifts befitting your new status in the sect, and give you a post for you to serve the sect."
The last message said, "As a cultivator of the fourth mortal coil, you are no longer a disciple of the sect to be raised. You have become an elder of the sect, and it is time for you to repay the sect for its help in raising you by making the sect stronger.
As he was reading this, another message arrived on the ID card. It said, "Not to worry though. The sect will not saddle you with something you can't handle. And you won't be working for the sect all the time for the rest of your life. You will have the time and leisure to do anything you want and enjoy yourself."
"Once again, I congratulate you on your advancement. I also wish you good luck on your endeavors. Please, make yourself available for the council meeting in a month. Good day."
That was the end of the messages from the council of elders.
After reading all of them, he said with anticipation, "I wonder what kind of gifts they will give me."
He likes free stuff just like anyone else. But he is also looking forward to the matter of the posts that the council wants to give him.
The council of elders is a silent and mostly hidden section of the Blood Skull sect. It is the people at the third mortal coil that usually run the sect and are seen running about in the inner sect.
He has had no reason to come into contact with any of the golden core cultivators in the sect, so this will be the first time he will be meeting them.
At most, he has seen the island where they live and has occasionally sensed them when they fly by. But he has not met any golden core elder before or spoken to one.
The most contact he has had with a golden core elder was through the mission he set up in the outer sect for the rank 3 and rank 4 versions of the silver pine trees.
It was an elder of the sect that helped him create the rank 3 version that he needed. All he has is her name and a message from her stating how much it would cost him to get another rank 3. He never met her or spoke to her.
So meeting the golden core elders of the sect and the gifts that they want to give him are the main reasons why he is looking forward to this council meeting.
