Chapter 20: The Revelation

The leader of the Order of the Moon stepped closer to me, its eyes gleaming with an otherworldly intensity.

"Emily, you are the key to unlocking the secrets of our kind," the leader said, its voice low and hypnotic. "You possess a rare gift, one that has been passed down through your family for generations."

I felt a surge of confusion mixed with curiosity. What gift was the leader talking about? And what did it have to do with my family?

The leader smiled, as if it could read my thoughts.

"You are a Moonchild, Emily," the leader said. "A direct descendant of the ancient werewolves who first walked the earth under the light of the full moon."

I felt like I had been punched in the gut. A Moonchild? What did that even mean?

The leader's eyes seemed to bore into my soul.

"It means that you have the power to control the very fabric of our existence," the leader said. "You have the power to shape the destiny of our kind."

I felt a surge of fear mixed with excitement. What did it mean to have such power? And what would I do with it?
