Monster Under the Bed

Sally turned off her light and bound to her bed, jumping from mid-floor. She was starting to get too big for her nightly ritual. She caught the box as she landed.

Opening the box revealed another jewel. It glinted in the bright moonlight. She smiled, took it carefully out of the box, and snapped it onto her necklace.

“Thank you, Und.”

“Happy birthday, Sally.”

“Only three more years.”

Und chucked, “yes, it is.”

“Goodnight, Und.”

“Goodnight, Sally.”
