Monster Of School

Not long after, the other classmates arrived and they saw Ryuma and Ten together. And also Petty which is an owl locked inside the cage. Michail is the first one to step in, then he stops right to Ten's face.

"Oi, is that what he said in the broadcast is true?! Are you kidding me? You deliberately invited me and Fimana to this school saying you'd give her protection. In the end, you take advantage because of the fact we're noble and tried to control us!"

Michail grabbed Ten by the collar, but Ten simply didn't show any sign of struggle.

"I'm not taking advantage of you. This is indeed the safest place for your sister to reside in. Also, your breath stinks, mind keeping your distance please?" Ten tried to push Michail's head aside, but Michail didn't let go of his grip.

"Don't give me that shit! Tell me right now, where the hell is that artifact!"

"It's right here." The unfamiliar voice made everyone deviate their attention towards it. The figure can't be seen as he hides behind the bookshelf. Even so, the figure's arm was exposed as it held the object in his hand. Ryuma recognizes the object because it's the same thing Ten shows earlier which is an artifact called Mind Wave. 

"That's the one Ten showed to me. An artifact that can change the common sense of people!" Ryuma shouts it the moment he sees the artifact. Michail on the other hand, his first instinct is to dash towards the bookshelf where the figure hides behind it.

But, the figure deliberately just handed the artifact as he threw it to Michail. Michail's mind was filled with confusion with the artifact in his hand.

"W-What's this?!" Hearing the words, the figure answers them with a calm voice. 

"It's just as you've seen, I just give the artifact to you."

(This easy? No, It can't be, he must be planning something-)

"You can rest easy, Ryuma. I can assure you this guy won't do anything right now." Said Ten to Ryuma. Ryuma looked at Ten as they both looked at each other.

(He knows what I'm thinking. Is he is an esper?)

As Ryuma was thinking, he asked a question to Ten.

"Hey Ten, what do you mean with he won't do anything?"

"Like I said, he won't do anything. Moreover, as he's called The Sage, he won't do anything radical such as kill a teenager for no reason."

"WHAT?!!" Everyone shouts across the room when they learn the identity of the figure behind the bookshelf. Which is, what Ten said. The Sage, Melium. Second later, everyone becomes wary of him.

"It's the Sage Melium behind that bookshelf?! What's he gonna do now?!"

"Wait wait wait, why did you all so wary of me? I did nothing wrong."

"Nothing wrong?!!" Michail smashes the artifact on the floor as he walks to the bookshelf. But his advance was stopped by the magic barrier which was cast by The Sage himself. Michail summoned his weapon to make his way through the barrier, but the barrier was so strong it didn't get any scratches at all.

"Ugh, STOP BECOME COWARD AND SHOWS YOURSELVES BEHIND THAT FUCKING BOOKSHELF!!!" Michail shouts angrily to Melium, but Melium simply doesn't do anything to Michail.

"I'm sorry, I cannot do that. The identity of The Sage must remain secret to the world as it's the biggest secret the world tried to unfold. Honestly, it gives me a headache when I think about those paparazzi at Magesha."

From what Ryuma sees, by the look of Melium's arm, he should be an adult. He hasn't got much muscle even if most of his arms were covered by the sleeve. But that doesn't mean he's weak. Ryuma can feel a unique feeling coming from Melium's mana.

(I've seen the mana come from the S-rank adventure. If I were to compare them with Melium, I'd say the S-rank would win. But, this is the first time I've seen the flow of his mana directly. I must say, it's... calm?)

Michail, frustrated because he couldn't break the barrier, went to Ten.

"Hey, do something! You're the one who started this whole thing right?!"

"Hmm, I suppose you're right. Okay then" Ten got up from the chair and sit on lean on the Principal's table.

"Right, before I said something. I'm gonna tell you all the reasons I started this whole conflict. It's to reveal the existence of The Sage's faction. And second, to reveal the prison underground which is right under our school. Most of the dangerous convicts that were caught by the Sage Faction will be locked there."

"What the hell? Why would the school be placed right above the prison?!" As Ten was about to answer the question, Melium was the one who gave Michail an answer.

"It's the precaution. And the reason I built this school right here is so I can watch over you all from here. To be truth, you were invited to this school because we can track your mana flow. Each and every one of you was labeled... too dangerous."

"Is that why you wanna control us?!" Ryuma stepped in. 

"That's the easiest way after all. But like Ten said, we wouldn't blindly lock you all without your family's permission after all.

"Wait, our family's permission?" Said Michail with a confused face.

"Yes, I got a signature from your parents before we sent you the letter." Melium shows a piece of paper in his hand with the signature written on it. Miranda, which is the name Lori knows.

"What?! Granny Miranda signed that contract?!"

"Yes, As I said, I already got permission from every one of your parents. And then, the responsibility went to this school to train you before that power becomes dangerous."

"This is bullshit! Fimana, we're going out from here!" Michail went and grabbed Fimana's hand as they got out of the room. But the voice stops Michail before he leaves.

"Are you sure about this? If you were to get out of this school, your sister would be vulnerable to the attacks from the people targeting her. At that point, I doubt she would get a good night's sleep."

"It's better than some scoundrel trying to use that fucking thing to control our mind!"
