Monster Gacha System: Becoming The Final Boss

Chapter 119 | Monster Incursion

Amidst the blurred lines of the horizon that spanned the outskirts of the southern frontiers. Looming monsters marched, their size towering over the desolate wasteland.

The borders that divided the New World took the form of pale white and pitch-black. Lands divided, one enveloped in a perpetual storm and the other embraced by the warmth of the skies.

Above these marching monsters was a white fog, shrouding the silhouette of a draconic abomination whose size rivalled a mountain.

To the eyes of anyone but Oberon, the monstrous army was no different than catastrophes stacked upon one another.

"Doing this beyond the frozen wastelands of the Arctic feels a lot better than I expected." Damien stood over the head of his first monster, Eclipse.

His sable-tinted eyes observed the storms enveloping his monster army, seemingly unfazed by the sight. There were worse things he had seen than this storm.

"Although a bit hot, I prefer the sun and clear skies." Damien sighed to himself and stretched his arms upward. "Alright, Ddraig..."

"Clear the unruly skies out for me."

His black suit fluttered through the air as the Mechanized Draconic God growled and unleashed a torrent of energy that blasted the storms away. In mere moments, a clear patch of the lower New World emerged.

For the first time in the last decade, the warmth of the heavens touched the black ground of the shaded landscape.

"That's good..." Damien sighed to himself, somewhat envious of the capabilities of his summoned monsters.

Although he was capable of pulling his weight by utilizing the cascading personal skills under his arsenal, he was much weaker when base stats were compared.

"No wonder even Hecate loves sunbathing. The sun feels good." His lips curved into a subtle smile as the monster army continued marching deeper into the northern territory of the Clan.

Behind the towering monsters was the special operations company of the Third Division. These Jaegers were the strongest of Block 3, capable of defending any parts of the southern outskirts with ease.

One of them looked at the monsters in the distance, their faces barely holding back wry smiles. A member of Block 7 was able to do something they had long wished to do.

"As expected of the Seventh Division, no wonder the strongest of humanity accepted them."

"I wonder where the Federal Government and Block 4 got the guts to throw the Seventh Paragon into a tribunal."

Different remarks escaped the members of the special operations company. The one leading them, the Third Paragon, grinned at the sight of the monster army marching.

"Since our ally has given us the chance, let us ensure that this opportunity isn't wasted. Prepare to expand our borders!"

Armstrong roared as the Jaegers gave their war cries. To ensure that the patch of land remains untouched by the storm after the incursion of the monster army.

Those storm machines must be destroyed alongside the seals that maintained them. With the monster army bearing the Clan's complete attention, it was a simple matter of their courage.

The special operations company of Block 3 knows no fear.

As the monster army marched southward, the alarms of the military installations in its path blared. Vampires of different ranks gather, astounded to hear the alarms.

"What happened!?"

One of the nobles questioned as another noble grunted. "Incursion... The Federation is attacking us! They have already cleared a section of the northern storms!"

"What? How!? There weren't any signs of a military gathering on the frontier?" The noble was dumbfounded, unable to believe his colleague.

Before anyone could reply, everyone turned their gaze towards the northern direction. Monsters loomed over the bright horizon, each towering and terrifying.

"W-what the hell!"

"How could this be? What are they!?" Every vampire in the first military installation was shocked. The scenes before them were too much.

Fighting against these giant monsters was impossible. They stood no chance. Even the nobles would barely survive the attack.

"When did humanity control monsters?" Another noble questioned, as every officer within the military installation furrowed their eyebrows.

The alarm bells continued to blare as the vampires' morale was low. Some nobles were already finding ways to withdraw without being punished for desertion.

Some officers tried to gather forces to fight against this monster incursion. Artillery was fired alongside the cannons, but they stood no chance against the looming monsters.

Behemoth charged onward, each of its tectonic steps causing the ground to rumble. When it reached the military base, explosions detonated as the fiery flames of destruction consumed the installation.

In mere moments, thousands of vampires were crushed into damnation. Their terrors filled the desolate and shaded landscape of the lower New World.

The nobles who deserted saw a single monster destroy the northermost installation with ease. Chills crept into their spines.

It was supposed to be the first stronghold against humanity, yet it fell in a few seconds. The sight was staggering.

"What do we do now? The military installation has fallen?" A noble inquired, his hands unknowingly trembling. For the first time, they felt fear.

The emotion didn't feel good at all. It was despairing, crushing whatever thought of resistance into dust.

"We have to reach the second stronghold and warn them of the monster army. The Clan must know of the incursion. Humanity must pay!"

One of the officers who had barely survived roared, attracting the gaze of the noble survivors. Some wanted to escape and return to their territories further south.

But they were currently on military duty, so they must report to the Clan before returning to their territories.

With this in mind, the nobles nodded in agreement and immediately withdrew from the area. The first installation lasted five seconds against Behemoth.

Even though the nobles could fight against a single giant monster, an army of them was beyond their capabilities.

They would require the assistance of True Bloods, which was difficult without reporting the situation to the Clan. And so they did.

Utilizing their Blood Techniques, some reached the second installation before the others and warned them of the monster incursion marching towards them.

The monster army arrived at the devastated military installation and settled for a minute. No survivors remained in the stronghold, all massacred by the Behemoth.

Damien stood over the head of his summoned monster, Eclipse, and looked at the devastated fortress with indifference.

"So, nobles don't stand a chance against my three-star monsters, huh? I guess the only ones I have to worry about are the True Bloods."

He muttered under his breath, scrutinizingly observing the results of the incursion. Even when some nobles tried to fight back, they stood no chance against the Behemoth.

"Damn... Now that I think about it, I haven't met a single True Blood." Damien rubbed the bridge of his nose and furrowed his eyebrows.

The True Bloods were only below the Progenitor, so they were the highest elites of the Clan. A single one of them should be able to utilize a Microcosm.

"I can probably handle a single one. Fighting a group would be tantamount to suicide. But eh..."

"I can escape if the situation requires it." He never thought of himself as someone honorable. Besides, there was no need for him to fight True Bloods.

His only job was to destroy the military installations in lower New World to make way for the Third Division to advance the border further into the south.

"In any case, I should continue." Damien gazed towards the horizon where the second stronghold of the Clan lay.

Fighting against weaker enemies was becoming more boring the longer he stayed on the head of Eclipse. But it was inevitable. Besides, he didn't want to fight a True Blood without any information.

He'd rather come prepared.

"Hmm... The destruction of the first stronghold should cancel my debts, right?" He raised his eyebrows and opened his status display.
