Monia: How Should I Convince My Yandere Wife To Let Me Free?

Chapter 19: In the End, He Has to Try.

Chapter 19: In the End, He Has to Try.

In fact, Risa had lied about her being in a meeting. Or rather, it wasn’t a business meeting, but it was a meeting of some kind. Instead, it was a meeting about replacing Carter’s CFO position. Which, with Risa’s piles of evidence of his misconduct, was more than enough to get him fired.

Carter: “…”

Taking a long swig of some wine, Carter had finally calmed down. After going into his office to get another smartphone, his smoothed over mood had become shaken once more. He was informed of being fired, as well as the pending lawsuit that he will face. That is, only if he doesn’t want to be sued to all hell, then Carter has to pay the wrongfully gained salaries of his.

Carter: “…Is this the only time where having a big salary is bad?” He asked to no one at all.

The amount owed was… $50,000,000. Risa, the ever-nice sister, didn’t ask for taxes on top of that, though. Looking at his bank account, Carter had just a little over $100,000,000. Paying it would take half of his fortune, but he did it within seconds. “Winning against the family lawyers is beyond a pipe dream…” He thought with a sour tone after sending the money.

Risa: “Damn.” She said with a scoff.

Clare: “What’s wrong, My Lady?” She asked.

Risa: “Carter paid us back.” She answered with a sigh.

Clare: “A shame… Perhaps he isn’t as foolish as we thought?” She suggested with a thinking pose.

Risa: “Don’t give him any credit. Even fools do smart things from time to time.” She dismissed her personal maid’s quite foolish suggestion with a wave of her hand.

His sister was basically at the top of the world now, while Carter was on the way down to rock bottom. If Monia knew of this, she would be clapping in happiness at his quick fall into nothingness. “Does Sister think that I am a fool? If we ended up in a lawsuit, she would have easily won more than just that 50 million. Instead, Risa would have taken everything from me…”

Carter thought while bitting one of his nails.

Carter: “Prepare to run a grand story for me.” He ordered after calling a specific person.

Carter was down, but not out. Calling his close friend, who just so happens to own the biggest news organizations in the world, Carter was prepared for war. In truth, this friend, Bern Telli, was someone else on Risa’s list. Carter isn’t the only person who she needs to ruin to keep her place.

Bern: “What do you have?” He asked in reply.

Carter: “Like I said, grand stories.” He replied.

Bern: “…What kind of stories? Last time you asked a favor of me, it was to slander a woman that you raped. Of course, even though we’re friends, I was not willing to run such a story. Don’t think that my morals have changed since then.” He said with a slightly annoyed tone.

Carter: “It isn’t something like that, I swear!” He quickly exclaimed, certain that Bern was about to hang up the call.

Bern: “Stop beating around the bush then. Unlike you, I am a very busy man.” He said with a small scoff.

Carter: “…”

Prior to making the call, he had already written up a lengthy email. In it, there was detailed evidence of all of Risa’s crimes. Specifically, it was insinuated that she killed her parents for the shares, kidnapped and imprisoned a woman, as well as various other made up crimes.

Bern, seeing the email, happily agreed to run the story. He wasn’t a good man, but Bern wouldn’t run a story like this normally. Rather, he is only running it… because of his false image of Carter.

To him, despite how horrible that he knows the man to be, Bern doesn’t expect him to lie in this matter. Carter, while trying to not only stave off his financial destruction, the man was indirectly helping his sister out with destroying her other enemies… The woman herself wasn’t even aware of the deep hole that her brother was digging himself into. Why? Because she was on her way to meet her dear wife after so long!
