Monarch of The Abyss

Chapter 79: The Sorrow Of A Millenia[4]

Loud grunts from behind the door were heard by the elven royals inside the hall. There were a dozen more elite guards standing in front of the door.

The ones outside though, were being slaughtered by a little girl who was pushed too much. She had enough, her life till now was hell on Earth, the sorrow inside of her had transformed into a hatred which is endless and unforgiving.

"Father, I'm scared." The little elven princess who clung to her father cried out as she heard the screams of the guards.

"Don't be scared my daughter, the monster outside will die soon." The king replied as he tried to reassure his daughter that everything would be fine.

But the screams stopped suddenly, replaced by silence which gnawed at their minds. It made them think of the worst things possible.

The guards flinched as the door creaked slightly, then it fully opened. The girl had grown a few more inches, her hair was now down to her waist, fully white but stained red from the blood.

Her ears were no longer like normal human ears, they were pointed like the elves and her nails were grown long, she was drenched in blood from head to toe.

And yet she smiled as she saw the guards and the Elven Royals. The royals flinched as her gaze landed on them and the guards, the final ones jumped towards her to attack.

She ducked down and grabbed the head of one and smashed it into the ground, it cracked and left stains of blood as the first guard was killed in one strike.

Her hand slashed across his neck and she pressed her mouth and drank the blood which poured out.

The other guards attacked, she tilted her head to dodge a sword and jumped at the man's face, she grabbed the top of his head and slashed downwards, deep gnashes were left on the guard.

The other guards took a few steps back but she ran towards the nearest one, he swung his sword but she jumped and stepped on the sword before she kicked his face and stabbed his chest with his own sword.

The rest of the guards were cut through like they fought like they were kids who didn't know how to fight even though they were the elite guards who were present.

The Royals saw the scene in horror, they had nowhere to run, there was neither someone who would help them.

The king got in front of his kids, his legs trembled from fear while his wife did the same on the side.

The queen ran towards Acheron blindly, at first she didn't attack back. The queen grabbed her small little body and looked back at her husband, her eyes full of tears telling him everything he needed to know.

His wrist glowed and vines erupted from the ground which pierced both Acheron and the queen, blood poured out of the queen's mouth but Acheron's face was unchanged.

She was not new to pain, this much was bearable, the queen looked at her face and was shocked, her eyes up close were full of sadness not befitting of her age.

But it was too late, her body slowly went cold and then it went limp, her legs bent and she fell down on the cold hard ground with Acheron still in her arms.

At first the king thought she had died as well but her body twitched, she slowly got up from the ground and pulled out the vines from the ground.

The holes in her body bled, but she was still standing. The wounds very faintly started to heal, the flesh stretched as if it were hands joining them with other hands.

She took a step forward but she fell on one knee, her body ran purely on adrenaline and it was almost over.

She pushed forward and broke into a sprint, the king pushed his kids to the side and tried to tackle Acheron, but she dodged and lunged at his daughter.

The poor girl came back in contact with her nails and it was over, the king wailed loudly, his heart ached and more vines erupted from the ground but she ran towards the little boy in the corner cowering in fear.

The king saw this and ran towards his son as well but his leg got entangled in one of the vines and he fell face first, his face was a bloody mess. But he saw the brutality of Acheron.

It was only him and her left, seeing the massacre around him he let go of the thought of fighting back.

Because even if he did, he wouldn't win against her. She was no longer human, she drank the blood from the corpse of his wife.

Her ears elongated more and became similar to the Elf ears. The king slowly got up from the ground and sat against the wall.

He has lost the will to live and waited for death by the hands of a human child he had gotten kidnapped a year ago.

If he had known it would lead to this he would've not done that, he would've stopped bothering the human empire and lived peacefully with his family.

But it was too late to regret it, he had lost everything, his family, his will to live and his soldiers. He had failed as a king.

As Acheron walked towards her final victim the wall of the hall exploded, debris fell and a man in black armor entered the hall and looked at the massacre.

Then his eyes fell upon the little girl covered in blood and his own eyes softened, tears formed in them.

Despite her hair being white and her eyes being red, he recognized her…his daughter. The first princess of the Voltaris Empire, Acheron.

But then he saw the elf king in the corner looking lifeless and his body shuddered, could his daughter have done all this.

As she broke a sprint towards the elf king, he too jumped in between them. A gold light erupted from his hands which blinded her and her skin started to burn.

The strength in her legs vanished and he dropped on the floor unconscious.
