Chapter 1338 A Moment of Rest (1)

Chapter 1338  A Moment of Rest (1)

"…I stand corrected. Investing in a Teleportation Hall was definitely the right choice."

"Didn't I tell you from the start, Valyr? Getting a Teleportation Hall is something we won't regret!"

As they made their way back to Daffors Village, Valyr and the others talked about the things they did, laughing along the way.

"Anyways, Teleportation Hall aside… What's the next step for the guild?" asked Thomas after that, which made Meria and Lucques focus their attention on the young man.

"Well…" Pondering over it for a bit, Valyr unknowingly stopped in the middle of the street. "For now, I'd guess it'd be having more members in our guild."

"After that, I'll expand the guild accordingly, whether it's constructing buildings or upgrading facilities to fit the guild's general play style."

"I'm guessing the recruitment part is where we come in, right?" asked Lucques, to which Valyr nodded before smiling.

"I wouldn't give you guys those positions just because they sound cool," said the young man, letting out a slight chuckle at the end. "But yeah, if you can recruit people to our guild, go for it."

"Any criteria we should keep in mind?" asked Meria in return, prompting the young man to ponder once more.

Fortunately, this time, he had the foresight to move by the side before giving the question more thought.

"Well, being active is definitely one of them," answered Valyr after some time. "It's also a plus if they've already ascended to Rank 1 and gotten their class."

"However, if they did ascend to Rank 1, try to ask about the rarity of their class first. If it's Uncommon grade or above, then try to recruit them to the guild. Of course, no need to go above and beyond if they're determined to reject your offer."

"Any reason why only Uncommon grade and above?" asked Thomas in response, to which Meria and Lucques nodded in agreement.

Seeing that the three of them were curious as to what reason he had, the young man took it as an opportunity for the three to strive for more and aim higher. "Let's just say that a rarer class gives you more opportunities in the long run."

Keeping Valyr's words in mind for the recruitment and for himself, Thomas faintly nodded as he asked him another question. "How about those that haven't ascended yet?"

"As long as they're willing to listen, learn, and adapt, then that's more than enough," replied the young man, prompting the three to nod in return.

Nodding back at the three, Valyr took a brief look at the server time through the system, only to feel a wave of mental exhaustion hit him the moment he did.

Going over the various things he'd done during these past few days, the young man eventually felt a bit of disbelief once it clicked in his mind that only half a day had passed since he logged into the game.

Realizing that he'd been doing pretty much that every time he entered Greater Beyond for the past couple of days, Valyr eventually decided to give himself a bit of time to rest.

After all, when had he really taken the time to give his body and mind the space and time it needed to unwind?

"I'm guessing you three are gonna continue playing, then?" Making up his mind to follow the decision through, Valyr went ahead and told the three that he was going to log out for now.

Unsurprisingly, Thomas and the other two were slightly caught off guard by what he said, remembering that the Valyr they knew had been playing the game every day as if he were possessed.

Though, just like the young man, it did not take long for them to realize just how many things he'd done during the past few days the game had been out to the public.

With that, the three wholeheartedly supported his decision to take a quick break from the game, telling him to give them a heads-up when he got back before parting ways.

Watching his friends' silhouettes disappear from his field of vision, the young man faintly let out a sigh of contentment before logging out of the game.

Whoosh!

Slowly getting out of his gaming pod, Valyr hastily went ahead to the bathroom to freshen himself up.

At the same time, he thought back to the things the four of them did after meeting up. "This session has probably got to be my most productive session yet."

After sorting out his identification in the Mage Guild, negotiating with Aster on the tournament, and establishing the Azure Coalition, Valyr brought the three to the guild not long after they met up.

Of course, with the guild's territory being situated a fair distance from Astella City, it took a while for the four to get there, having traveled the distance between Daffors Village and the nearest town on foot.

At that point, Valyr decided to make them privy to an interesting piece of information as he introduced them to the existence of the Underground Transport Network.

Although it took a bit of asking here and there to get to the hub of the town's Underground Transport Network, the four swiftly made of the network to cover most of the distance between the town and Astella City.

The only downside to it was the price they had to pay in order for that to happen.

Nevertheless, by the time the four of them got to the buildings Valyr had constructed for the guild, the three forgot the price they paid to use the Underground Transport Network, instead thinking of it as a steal to get to where they were.

Just like Valyr, the three went ahead and explored the guild hall in its entirety, surprised that the hall contained far more amenities than they initially thought.

After that, they made their way to the horse statue outside, which Valyr felt was his cue to explain what the buildings and facilities did for the guild.

Naturally, after hearing that the horse statue was the cause behind their sudden increase in strength earlier, the three immediately told Valyr that they should prioritize upgrading it to the max level.

In response, Valyr reminded them that none of them really had the funds to do that, which briefly made the three's expressions turn sullen.

However, it was at that moment that Thomas was reminded of what Valyr told them just as they met up, suggesting to the others that they should sell another batch of beauty elixirs.

With the goal of using the profits made for the beauty elixirs to fund the upgrades to the guild, it went without saying Meria and Lucques hastily agreed to the idea.

On the other hand, Valyr showed a bit of hesitation before eventually acquiescing.

And thus, paying the hefty fee to return through the Underground Transport Network, the four hastily got to work, buying a few sets of empty vials before taking out the Verdant Slugs and Verdant Bluegrass they set aside in the past.

Then, as if it were clockwork, the four concocted a decent number of batches of beauty elixirs, spending most, if not an entire day on just that single task.

Although the amount of beauty elixirs they concocted was only three-fourths of the amount they concocted the previous time, the four still turned a massive profit from the elixirs thanks to their feat at the Cave of Beginnings becoming well-known.

Returning to their guild's territory after that, Thomas and the others put all of the profit they made from the beauty elixirs into the guild without hesitation, causing Valyr to inwardly let out a sigh as he upgraded the horse statue to its current max level.

Feeling more strength course throughout their bodies after doing that, it was no surprise that the three asked Valyr if he could upgrade the statue even further.

Telling them that he needed to upgrade the guild hall first in response, Thomas and the other two immediately urged him to do just that, prompting him to also upgrade the guild hall to its current max level.

'If not for the fact that the evolution from Rudimentary to Basic tier costs some materials and a lot more XP, Thomas and the two might have pestered me to no end to upgrade the Statue of Awakening to the peak of Basic tier,' thought Valyr, chuckling at the thought.

'Then again, with them still playing the game, I'm sure they're farming for the evolution materials while I'm thinking about it.'

Deciding not to think about Greater Beyond and the guild any for the meantime, Valyr quickly changed into outdoor clothing as he drafted a rough plan in his mind on how he was gonna spend the rest of the day.

After making sure that his smartphone was in his pocket, it was only then did the young man leave his apartment, smiling as he leisurely made his way downtown.

'First stop: the burger joint.'
