Misunderstood Villain: Heroines Mourn My Death

Chapter 462: Author's Final Words

Hello y'all, and may peace be upon you.

I, the great Goldenstache, can finally announce this book's end.

It was something of an open ending, and whether you hate it or like it, you simply cannot deny that it slaps HARD.

Yes, I'm an author shamelessly bragging about my own creation, but allow me... I think I've somehow written something really special here.

At times, while reading my chapters (yes, I always do that to check for mistakes even after publishing; it's why most of your comments disappear—my fault!) Even I look back and just stare, like...

Did I actually write that?

During my old novel, OWE, I had that moment a few times, but here?

It happened back to back to back, many times over.

I really think I outdid myself.

This came to me as quite a surprise, as before writing this, I only saw this novel as an interesting idea, wanting to write the first entirely good and original reaction novel.

But holy, did it transform into a fucking megalodon of effort.

Effort, that I might so cautiously say, was entirely UNREWARDED.

Kuhm, kuhm... anyways, y'all don't realize just how hard it was to write this novel.

Like, I seriously thought it'd just be a good emotional roller coaster I could bang out without much thinking, but by the end, I was damn near pulling my hair out!

Imagine trying to write at least three hundred thousand words of reactions, throwing the main characters into further and further tragedy while trying to keep them true to their initial character, and, AT THE SAME TIME, have them evolve like Malik wanted.

And, of course, I needed to keep things fresh and interesting even all those chapters later.

Even though the tragedies were always different and the revelations always new, as well as the million twists, building on each other and creating a beautiful painting, it was still the same painting, and it was very hard to keep y'all interested in it.

It's no wonder that those Chinese authors writing this type of novel always reset or enter a new 'world' every hundred or so chapters, changing the 'painting.'

I don't really know if I've succeeded at what I've set out to do; maybe I did in parts, not so much in others, but hey, I tried!

But, again, I TRIED FOR SQUAT GRAAAAAAAAH!

To be honest, around chapter two hundred, I already had thoughts of just dropping it, as it was obvious even then that it had no hope of bouncing back, but I'm glad I stuck to it, even if it barely gained me anything.

There are things I want to change here and there, especially my weird obsession with writing so damn snappy early on (I saw other popular authors doing it, so I thought I'd hop on the trend), but now I feel like it almost adds to the whole experience.

Yes, it wasn't perfect, but it just shows how much I improved throughout, knowing how to better balance {Inside The Projection} and {Outside The Projection}.

And yeah, if to some of you it had gotten annoying, trust me, it was worse for me.

I almost hated writing the reactions for the final hundred chapters.

Those keen-eyed might've noticed how I cut on the crowd reactions a lot more, keeping them just as window dressing. A few paragraphs here and there, not full-on dialogue.

I think what I did only bettered the reading experience, as it made the flow a lot faster, but some readers complained about that, so I don't know.

Of course, I'm not saying I hated all the final reaction chapters. Hell no a million times!

My favorite reaction chapters were in the final one hundred, but yeah, it just took a toll on me, ya know?

Honestly, I had readers complain that I was too slow, while at the same time, others said that I was too fast.

I never really listened to either, so it didn't matter in the end, but calling it annoying is the least of it.

Though thankfully, the comments were generally good, and I really appreciate some of you who commented on something and actually reminded me that I didn't mention it in my outline, making me add an entire plot point that I didn't realize this novel needed.

Kudos to you!

Oh, and speaking of outline, did y'all know that I began this novel with barely any planning?

Yes, it might seem like I planned out every detail from the beginning to the end, but not really; that came a bit after, when I hunkered down and started connecting dots like that UK show's James Bond, who always tweaks out.

Somehow, some way, the stars aligned, and everything led to another, and even the vague ending that I had envisioned early on was perfectly reached and was unarguably surpassed.

Even the part where the Divine Rank Malik ascended to being named Angel Of The Sun.

Imagine that? Too perfect.

Those keen-eyed might've also long since expected this ending.

After all, if the projection, i.e., the Embodiment System, was Malik's Divine Kingdom…

Didn't that mean that the Script, the first message he had received, was from him to himself?

And didn't that mean that he, without anyone knowing, had formed a new Path?

Indeed, Malik's Path was to become a True King, a 'Malik,' never the True Sultan.

So while all the Rukhs and Araafs thought that 'They' had complete control over him, he had tricked 'Them' all, stepping outside of their jurisdiction.

Malik was 'freed,' returning to being an Angel!

But, of course, such a trick couldn't come for free.

If he stayed in 'Their' control, there would be no need for him to be in that state; he'd be protected and could immediately meet his family, but since he was no longer protected, that meant the repercussions of ascending into an Angel met him at full force.

His... penance.

Worse yet, he had become something that no one should directly see or hear.

If Fam Iblis did, the billions surrounding the hill would just get Corrupted and die.

That was the world, ups and downs, and it'd remain so, despite what the 'ideal' ending might be.

Again, some of you might hate it, preferring the usual cliche of Malik living happily ever after with his family, forming a harem, mere days after they, or rather the "Embodiment System," saved him.

But no, first things first, this is a reaction novel; I wasn't going to write much after the 'reaction's' conclusion.

Second of all, as most of you should know, Malik's Divine Kingdom was transferred onto him by the Lady of Time after he failed in the first timeline, becoming the Hollow King. (Yes, the Hollow King he fought in the trial was a Malāk.)

With his Divine Kingdom, he got back his strength, from mortal to Angel, and at the end, when he was finally 'freed,' like everything before it, more rules come into play, rules that would be entirely violated by such an 'end' and would make the entire thing feel unearned.

I won't explore these rules here; I'll leave them for the SEQUEL.

Yes, you heard that right, a sequel!

For those who want more of Malik, be excited!

This ending allows me a lot of space to write the second book as I damn well like.

And of course, it'd be Malik as the MC, unlike what Cuttlefish did with LOTM.

I'm far from being as good as him, and I know just how much he struggled to write that novel, so I sure as Hell won't follow in his footsteps. I know my limits.

Again, those keen would know exactly what it'd be about.

A cosmic war!

Malik against his bane.

His one main enemy.

IT.

Fun, right?

Now, the third reason, besides the monetary and unpopularity bit, continues from what I was just saying.

Before making my decision, I thought of writing a long side story after the open ending (yes, it was always going to be an open ending), write how Malik comes back to them, how they react, and how his relationship with them turns out, etc., etc., but...

It was going to be too long.

That wasn't a damn side story; it was a full-on novel!

So after talking to a few readers, friends, and family, I decided to just write a sequel.

And honestly... I hesitate to write it.

It'll be Angel-level stuff, meaning the fights will eventually no longer be 'he walked there and kicked that;' no, it'll be symbolic level, a fight of concepts... interesting to read when done right, but damn hard to write well.

There's no way I can do it without reading a few novels first.

That, and the definite mind games between Malik and IT, would be hard to write and would need a lot more planning—yes, much, much more, even relative to this novel.

I just can't wing it.

Which is why I'll be writing another novel before then, 'I Awakened My Game System! Now Three Great Houses Want Me Dead!'

It'll be the first time I actually write something simple, or well, simpl-er.

This novel will also be unique, the actual unwebnovel title being 'Father Of Luck And Calamity.'

Imagine a Magi as broken as Zafar with a game system, a world focused only on runes, one that the MC knows from top to bottom, having broken it a million times before transmigrating into it, and a Goddess attached to his hip, bringing him calamity wherever he went.

An extremely lucky but also extremely unlucky man, something that I've always wanted to write, judging by the characters associated with luck in both my novels.

Also, the world would be Greek-inspired and be focused on Divinity.

Also, also, he'd be hunted down by the strongest in the world.

It'd be like a game of cat and mouse between him and the peak.

It's in the same universe as this novel and OWE, but it's in a 'Lower Realm.'

Eventually, that MC will also join Malik and Emir (my novel's first MC) in the cosmic battle.

I'm still stuck on the new MC's name, but I think I might go for Xenos (Stranger).

So yeah, good stuff, but compared to this? Nah, a little less unique~.

Anyways, it'd give me time to properly plan for the sequel, concluding Old-World Extra and Misunderstood Villain, almost making it the true end of this universe.

Or maybe I'm doing too much, and I'd just end the third novel by itself.

I'm not sure; it's still in the early planning phase, so most things are subject to change.

If any of you want to join me in planning this novel, you can check out the Discord link in my profile.

Now then, enough about that; let me go over MV for a bit and explain what might not be so obvious to all of you.

Oh, and before I get talking about this next part, quick warning: it'll get real and extremely political, so those with a cute little bubble, please stop here; I don't want to sour anyone's mood. I know we all come here for a little escapism.

Okay, first, let me quiz you, and yes, please answer before you go read the next part, if not in a comment, then at least in your mind…

What do you think the core of this story is?

Yes, it's referencing West Asia, but that's not the focus.

(I dislike calling it the Middle East on here, as it's a colonial term, and I mean, what? The Middle East of where? Some British guy's house? But yeah, even though it's got quite a good ring to it, and I do use it while chatting with others, nah, not here, not for this little rant; I'd prefer to refer to it as West Asia.)

Now, beneath the obvious references to West Asia and to how it is coveted by all for its oil (Al-Fawra and its unlimited source of Aether and Holy Relics), a forever war going on, proxy after proxy, all to destabilize and to never allow the countries to even begin making something of themselves without the need for the West. (The constant arrival of outside invaders, halting proper technological progress, and the constant war between kingdoms fighting over the land, trying to inch closer and closer to Al-Fawra)...

Beneath the obvious religious references, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam (specifically Shia Islam), which are Originists, Templar, Twelvers respectively, both their political unity and divide, as well as the racism they once shared against South Asia and those next to them, (Hexbloods)...

Beneath all that, both pain and hope, was one common theme...

Resistance.

The core was slow, slow resistance against the inevitable.

Even if you know this 'power' isn't something that you can defeat.

Even if you know you'll die at the end, you take it on the chin and resist.

That is all you do, because that is all you have left, and that is the only way to have meaning in your life...

To die a dignified man.

Malik is the literal embodiment of that.

Much like other stories about resistance and the 'people rising up.'

In real life, such resistance is frowned upon.

Especially our resistance, branded as terrorism, all because its mere existence threatens the status quo that the world depends on today.

It's really funny how they'll convince you you're wrong... for all the things you haven't done.

Projecting onto you what they themselves had done.

Leaving you standing there to ask...

What's one more day left in the sun?

And there's more, so let me go over it with you, volume by volume.

The first volume was a struggle to accept someone's passing.

I'm sure most of us went through that, and all I can say to you is 'may they rest in peace.'

The second volume was about how resistance against a tyrannical force, or fighting back against injustice (an occupier), would make one fit for a rotting death, as what claims to be justice is nothing but.

A live example is how Hamas and even Hezbollah are being branded as terrorists when they are nothing more than resistance groups that were pushed to creation by the very entity that later branded them as terrorists.

The law states that one could do all in their power to resist an occupier, but that law is now conveniently forgotten.

When the Jews did it to the Nazis, they were called heroes, but when those not under US hegemony do it, it's called terrorism.

The law is for you but not for me, kind of thing.

The US, UK, Europe, and the rest of the West work on that framework.

NATO, the UN, ICG, and ICC are only tools for them to use, and if those tools ever go a slight bit rogue and point back towards their wielders, they call for their dissolution.

Heh... that was a lot, eh?

I'm sure that got a few of you.

Well, there's more.

The third volume is about learning how to move on, accepting that such a tragic sacrifice was necessary for you to survive, a scene quite common nowadays.

Fourth is the truth of a "rebellion" that had recently occurred in Syria, only subverted.

Where actual terrorists (former Al-Qaeda motherfuckers turned 'freedom fighters') took over a country, with the help of their very "enemies" behind the scenes.

And I say "enemies" with quotes because they aren't; it's only a farce so that the Arabs in the region can support them without pulling their hair out at their own hypocrisy.

Utter and complete dumbasses, those people.

They saw their own country get split up, occupied, and bombed by the terrorist state of Israel and occupied by the US, another terrorist state, as well as Turkey, a bastard government that talks sweet but does you damn dirty.

(Let me just go on a quick but not so quick tangent:

I know many of my readers are from the US, and I have no issue with them, of course not. Who I have issue with is simply their government and most governments in the world, Arab ones definitely included, nearly all of them. Fuck 'em all!

I call the US a terrorist state simply because it is a terrorist state. It's barely a semi-democratic, elite-dominated, hierarchical, racist society that only wants to reserve privilege for those very elite, constantly fucking over their own people.

It was formed by a genocide, and it'd only continue to rule as an empire by continuing that genocide everywhere in the world.

Have you seen any other country have this many outside military bases? Especially in West Asia?

They've got a massive military base in Iraq, a country that had the largest US military deployment in history, and we all know how that went; a million-plus dead for nothing but oil.

Ah, sorry, they've found their weapons of mass destruction, though, tons and tons of gold~.

They're doing the same to Lebanon now, building a new base, trying to disarm the resistance, and annexing everything they have.

It's ridiculous just how much death they cause, creating ISIS, the Taliban, utterly destroying Libya, a literal slave trade forming there because of what they did, much like the ongoing and not talked about enough slavery in Congo, courtesy of the entire West, and the Sudan genocide, orchestrated by the UAE, with, of course, the help of the US.

And now, again with their help, Israel is creating new highs of civilian deaths.

It's incredible, really, the things the world has seen are just too insane: bodies being sent flying high in the air, headless children, kids being burned alive, a little boy wearing a tiny backpack stuffed with bloodied food, the remains of his loved ones on his back... a little girl barely breathing, her guts spilling out of her stomach.

(That last one was really tough to watch, really, really fucking tough, but I have to witness these things; if nothing else, I could at least do that.)

Nine-year-old after nine-year-old being shot in the head.

They say the 2025 death count is no more than 75,000, but I sincerely doubt that.

I wish that were true, I really do, but it's likely reached 600,000 plus, most of them young.

The terrorist entity destroyed 90% of Gaza, costing the country at least 68 billion dollars worth of infrastructure, 38 hospitals, 833 mosques, and 163 schools.

Crazy numbers, yeah?

Don't worry, it gets worse.

Imagine a "country" attacking six different countries in under twenty-four hours!

Yes, they'd bombed Gaza (Palestine), Yemen, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia, and Qatar.

All in under twenty-four hours!

It's incredible how they're allowed to do this all.

And you know what they get? No rockets back, no, nothing.

Only Iran, Hezbollah, and the Houthis (Yemen) had the balls for that. Everyone else?

Condemnation.

Hey, my enemy just killed all my family members and is threatening to kill me too. I think they're going to attack me tomorrow. Should I fight back?

Ah, nah man, just condemn them, and not harshly, you might hurt their feelings.

Yeah, listen to him. You remember the Holocaust? I'm sure you do, it's not like we mention it every fucking second.

Well, we went through that, so please, be understanding...

Yes, we went through it. No, what do you mean? I'm definitely not European, yes, yes, my grandfather went through that, you know? Please don't doubt me, it hurts my feelings, I might shit in my diaper. Hm? Am I a practicing Jew? Well, no, but—nah, I'm telling you, I'm Jew by blood. I'm not lying, definitely not, you should trust me, I never lied to you about anything before.

And hey, we've only dropped the explosive equivalent of multiple nuclear bombs on those animals—Gazans; it's not too bad, right? Don't worry, we're only trying to free the hostages, hm, yes. We definitely don't want to kill them 'accidentally,' hm, Hannibal Directive? What's that? Oh, don't worry about it.

War crimes? Breaking ceasefires many thousands of times? Starving people? Aid distribution sites that turned the animals' worlds into the Hunger Games? Shooting at them for fun? Calling a calendar a terrorist book? Wearing their underwear? Buldozing over them? The Floor Incident? Burying five ambulances and their medical staff? Double taps? Lying about tens of other 'mistakes,' investigating ourselves, and finding ourselves not guilty? Shooting 350 bullets into a family's car and killing the little girl crying for her life inside? Using humans as literal shields on tanks, and when clearing out buildings? And a thousand other things that would make this chapter reach ten thousand words?

No one with any heart would deny that there's been a genocide going on for two years.

And, of course, all the world did during that time was condemn—fucking condemn my ass!

Yet, even with that in mind, the US has been factually the most violent country since the 1950s. Just because they have 'democracy' or a cheap imitation of it, it doesn't mean that they can't be cruelly imperial abroad.

Rather, their democracy is truly pathetic.

The left and right are the same in essence; only one is a bull, and the other is a fox.

One will ram into you, screaming about how much he hates you and bragging about how many of you he'll kill, while the other will pretend to be your friend, kill you, your entire family, everyone you know, and then get a Nobel Peace Prize. i.e., Obama.

Both will drop bombs on you, but one will do it with rainbows, and to be fair, I do appreciate the rainbows. I mean, hey, we're being progressive, right?

And let me not get started on Britain; y'all were menaces back in the day, like damn.

Everything they did can still be felt today, and likely for many, many years to come.

I pity those who think that Israel controls the US. Like, buddy, do you really think the US can't shut them down in seconds? Without the US's security umbrella, Israel wouldn't even last a minute; they'd be absolutely annihilated, and Iran would be the first to stomp them six feet under.

But no, go on, live your life thinking that the system isn't fucked, but it's just Jews ruling the world. Though, of course, I won't deny that Jews do own many parts of the 'rule,' it isn't the end-all be-all; there are layers to this, and I can't mention everything in just one rant.

Also, those who call the US pure evil, incapable of doing good, are dumb. The US just looks out for its self-interest without care for the damage it causes; that's how an empire works.

It's only unfortunate for us Arabs that its self-interest means our downfall.

And, of course, it's only unfortunate that our leaders are their slaves.

They sit on their cuck chairs like good little goys and pay for 'protection.'

A neutered dog has more balls and dignity than all of them combined.

Maybe that's why they like to have models go shit on their chests.

But yeah, that's a story for another day.

I guess all you can say at this point is...

It is what it is.

The luck of the cards~.

You can also see this in how the US is beginning to abandon Ukraine.

After pushing Zelensky into war, now it's backpeddling, cutting back on funding.

Fucking bastards.

Yeah... rant over.)

Anyhow, back to what I was saying at the start, a terrorist became president of Syria, a bastard who literally sent kids to bomb themselves and cut off heads; yet many Arabs are cheering for that!

I seriously can't understand how dumb and caught up in religious strife one can be, thinking that it's all fine as long as your president is of the same sect as you.

At some point, you'd think we'd learn, but nah, we're never getting out of this cycle. I guess that's what I like about Christians (the actual Christians, not the Zionist type): they stand together even through their differences.

They're generally good peeps, so cheers to them.

And of course, cheers to you for reading till here.

I'm sure it's been really hard for some.

Now, the fifth volume is facing the past of loss and a future that holds no light...

Accepting the fact that what'll come will only bring more misery, and still continuing to walk forward, still continuing to resist.

I could go on, but again, the common point is, it's something that I feel heavily for/repressed for so long, turned 'novel,' fantasized, and pushed to an extreme beyond all extremes. My way of releasing some of my stress, basically a dumb way of doing therapy.

So, for the final time, though this story focuses on family.

On the relationship between fathers and son...

On forgiveness, anger, guilt, regret, tragedy, hope, faith, pain, and death.

This was a story about resistance.

The resistance against the inevitable.

Now say it with me, fellas...

Long live the resistance!

May every tyrant die and be sent to Hell!

ORRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Okay, now that we've had our moment...

I'll continue living my life like everything's normal, because, well, that's life~.

And you...

You can go read your other novels, shoo, shoo...

P.S. I know most of y'all don't care for this and just want to know if there's going to be a harem or not, but I won't answer you! At least not until the sequel. It's an open ending for a reason.

P.S. P.S. I put the harem tag on purpose, ya know~ So y'all can imagine what you want for an ending, and, for now, it could be true; there's no saying otherwise.

And, finally, thank you all for reading~!

It's been a wonderful journey.

I hope you think the same.

Next chapter will be updated first on this website. Come back and continue reading tomorrow, everyone!
