Chapter 49: The Girl on The Beach (Swimsuit Benefit 00/) _2
After hesitating in the changing room for a while, Tilan cautiously pushed open the door and walked out barefoot.
The clean and smooth surface of the floor gave a feeling underfoot, and a light natural breeze that passed between her thighs made the young girl feel curious and a bit shy.
Deloris was already out, waving to the girl from beside the pool, dressed in a swimsuit that resembled a grand satin ribbon, with blue and white colors overlapping in large ribbons that wrapped around her chest, tied behind her neck, while a semi-translucent diagonal skirt served as an adornment around her waist and abdomen, the overall look was generous and beautiful, highlighting Deloris's tempting figure.
Compared to Tilan, Deloris's figure was clearly more voluptuous, and if this young lady were to go to a public beach, there's no telling how many people would stare in amazement, even in the Interstellar Era where the rate of beautiful women was relatively high, she was an extremely rare beauty.
"Our Tilan has finally decided to come out," Deloris leaned on the poolside handrail, smiling at the approaching girl.
"I'm not too familiar with swimsuits, so it took me a while to put it on," the girl looked to the side, a bit reluctant to meet Deloris's eyes at that moment.
"Okay, come here, why not soak in the shallow water first to get used to it," Deloris said, pulling Tilan to the poolside, pointing to the handrails leading down.
"Mhm," the girl placed her hands on the silver metal handrails, looking at the pale blue pool beneath her, cautiously reaching out with her toes, touching the slightly cool surface of the water.
Encouraged by Deloris behind her, the girl stepped into the pool; the cold water spread up from her feet and legs until it submerged her waist.
With half of her body immersed in water, the girl started to feel a sensation of "floating," her body seemed to sway slightly with the water currents, and if she were to let go of the handrail at this moment, she might just drift toward the middle of the pool.
But she dared not let go at this point, only slowly continuing down until her feet touched the bottom of the pool, where the water was now almost creeping up to her chest.
Moving under water really increases resistance... the girl thought, moving slightly.
As she was getting used to the environment in the water, there was a plop sound beside her; Deloris dived into the pool, her figure swimming effortlessly and gracefully underwater, before eventually raising her head.
"Tilan, come here~" she beckoned, floating on the surface of the water.
The girl shook her head to indicate that she wasn't very good at swimming and just clung to the side of the pool wall to advance, until Deloris swam up to her, and then the two of them leaned against the edge of the pool together.
"Let me teach you, Tilan," Deloris supported Tilan, having her place her hands on her shoulders.
"Start slow, get used to splashing the water, come on."
"Okay," the girl was still eager to try.
Under the bright and sunny sky, the two walked slowly around the edge of the pool, and then Deloris had Tilan try swimming, gradually getting the hang of moving in the water. Slowly, the somewhat inexperienced girl started to swim on her own.
"That's great, Tilan, you're learning so quickly~" Deloris praised, making the girl in the water feel a bit happy.
Later, seeing that the girl was getting somewhat tired from learning, Deloris led her back to shore again, where they sat at the edge of the pool. Upon Deloris's call, an autonomous robot brought over two servings of ice cream.
Their feet still dipped in the water, occasionally splashing, the two ate ice cream, chatting idly until the ice cream was slowly finished.
"Now it's time to take a walk on the beach," after placing the ice cream boxes in the trash can, Deloris led the girl out of the resting room, and the two walked onto the white sandy beach outside.
It was probably around three in the afternoon and the sun was intense, Deloris and the girl put on sunglasses and then strolled on the beach.
Because of the sun's baking, the sand underfoot was somewhat hot, but near the water's edge, this part of the sand became moist and cooler.
You could occasionally see one or two seashells and conches on the beach, but no crabs.
"It's South First District, but there aren't many animals in the sea, only the nearshore areas that have been protected and filtered have life," Deloris explained about the situation in the sea.
"Environmental impact is quite significant," feeling the warm sea breeze coming toward her, with its faint salty taste, Tilan took off her glasses, opened her arms slightly, and felt the grand sea breeze brush past her sides.
She always liked the vastness of nature, probably because she lived in the Underground City as a child and rarely had such feelings.
After walking for a while, the two walked in the water not past their ankles to feel it, and then they returned to shore, resting under an umbrella, lying on the chairs to sunbathe for a while.
Listening to the waves beside her ear, basking in the sunshine, the girl felt a bit sleepy and soon drifted into a light nap.
When she woke up, it was thirty minutes later, and at that moment, Deloris was leaning beside her, gently brushing the girl's eyebrows with her own hair strands.
"Tilan, are you awake?" Deloris asked with a smile, as she pulled her hair back and watched the girl rub her eyes and sit up.
"Mmm..." The girl was still a bit sleepy, her voice lazy.
"Go splash some cold water on your face," Deloris suggested as she led Tilan back to the shower room of the resting area.
After a shower and some drying off, they walked back out and went up to the second-floor terrace of the resting area, which was also equipped with sun umbrellas and beach chairs.
Sitting under a sun umbrella, ripping open a snack bag, they began to talk about tonight's competition.
"The grand contest of the Winter Festival Gala is tonight; it's the first round. It won't be very intense since it's a warm-up competition, and the top six academies of the Jade Skirt will send students to participate," Deloris explained.
"What about the other academies?" The girl knew that South First District gathered the top six academies of the Jade Skirt.
"The other academies, if they want to join, have to vie for a spot in earlier competitions, defeating any one of the top six academies, and then they'll be eligible to join."
"But that hasn't happened in over a decade. The position of the top six is very stable, not really on the same tier as the other academies, and it's very hard to shake."
As she spoke, Deloris adjusted the new sun hat she had put on her head.
The wide brim was adorned with black and blue silk flowers, among which pearls and gemstones were sprinkled, quite beautiful.
"Does it look good, Tilan?" After putting it on, Deloris stood up and walked around on the terrace. The sea breeze lifted the strands of hair that were pinned down by the sun hat, her smile dazzling in the interplay of shadow and sunshine.
"It looks good." The girl nodded her head. Deloris was very pretty on her own, and the sun hat added the perfect finishing touch.
Closing her eyes, Deloris danced in the wind like a ballerina, her toes touching the ground lightly, twirling and then leaping, doing several circles like this.
"I really have forgotten a bit," Deloris said as she came back in front of Tilan, wrapping her arm around the girl's, rubbing slightly, and then resting her chin on the girl's shoulder.
"I used to be good at it. As a child, at my mother's insistence, I learned ballet and some other dances, but I didn't like performing in front of others, so I didn't practice much later on."
"I feel that, since my mother left, there are many things I no longer do." Deloris slightly raised her body and shielded her forehead with her hand, looking up at the sky.
"Are you missing the past?" the girl asked curiously.
"A little, but not particularly. It's not that I particularly miss it," Deloris shook her head.
"Although I didn't hate them, I wasn't really interested in a lot of the things my mother taught. It was natural not to continue them later on."
"You can't force yourself to do something just because you miss the past," she said.
"But being able to perform some things I'm good at in front of Tilan, that does make me quite happy, haha."
"What you learn doesn't mean much if there's no friends to boast about it to or share it with, and so you lack some motivation," Deloris said nonchalantly as she propped her hair back.
"No matter how beautiful your dress is, if no one is there to appreciate it, one can't help but feel a sense of loneliness."
"Thanks to Tilan, after entering high school, I felt that my life became much more interesting. Before, it was either school or the company, learning about business with my father," she reflected.
"Though I wasn't lacking people around me, in their eyes, I was probably that perfect young lady, and I had to maintain that image, even if I had gotten used to it, but sometimes I would like to relax."
"When I first met you, Tilan, I thought you were a very serious and earnest girl. But after getting to know you better, I found out you're actually quite gentle and quite relaxed in understanding many of my thoughts and views, so I gradually started to like spending time with you."
"Like? Maybe there's a bit of that. If I don't get married in the future, being friends with you for a lifetime would also be a happy thing," Deloris mused as she touched her chin with her fingertips.
"Oh Lala, are you feeling shy, Tilan? Hahaha~" Deloris watched the girl blush and turn her face away, laughing merrily in the wind.
