Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva

Chapter 26: Protective Secret Technique_3

The Golden Civet circled around the Wind Snail cautiously looking for an opportunity. Meanwhile, the Wind Snail commanded the airflow, suddenly pushing down to form a brief impactive vortex and attacked the Golden Civet.

The Golden Civet easily jumped away, avoiding this attack, and then counterattacked. It rushed forward, slapping its paw onto the Wind Snail's shell, sending it flying before pouncing again, preparing to bite into the part of the flesh that was exposed at the bottom of the snail.

However, the Wind Snail's defense was even stronger, tightly closing that bottom lid and then taking off, spinning in the air driven by the airflow.

"Now's the time, use Airflow Constraint," Hexia commanded.

A gust of air gathered along the ground and then briefly formed a downward vortex, hindering the Golden Civet's movement. Then the airborne Wind Snail began spinning rapidly, its pointed tip plummeting down like a drill targeting the Golden Civet on the ground.

In the blink of an eye, the Golden Civet's fur stood on end, its gem-like pupils flashing with brilliance, and then its figure suddenly accelerated, dodging the attack, letting the Wind Snail drive itself into the ground.

"This is dangerous," Mel worriedly said.

On the other side, Besimor's face lit up with joy, indeed it was the Golden Civet, not only visually appealing but also useful. It could harden its fur at any time and accelerate briefly, making it one of those Transcendent animals with both agility and defense.

"It's not over yet. Wind Snail, break out of your shell and use Freezing Ray," Hexia still remained calm.

The Wind Snail inside the arena opened the lid at its base, revealing small eyes, and then a pale blue ray shot toward the Golden Civet. Because the distance was extremely close and the opponent was still entangled by the airflow, it was hit directly.

The pale blue light shone for about three seconds before slowly fading away. At this moment, the Wind Snail was also exhausted, having used up all its magic power, and retracted into the interior of its shell.

On the other side, the Golden Civet stood still, its body covered in white frost, and collapsed.

"Wind Snail wins," the teacher judged, then ordered several standby Lightwing Moths to move in, heal the Golden Civet, and also dragged it away to the nearby Healing Room to recuperate.

"That was close, but how could the Wind Snail have Freezing Ray? That should be an ability it masters only upon advancing to the Tidal Sequence 4 – Vortex Conch. Logically, during Sequence 3, the use of wind and airflow abilities should already take up most of the space for the Transcendent Core's Brandings," a learned student curiously said.

"It must be some sort of protection Hexia gave it, just like how Agnes gave the White Rock Monkey an airflow protection," another commented.

"Breeders can enhance Transcendent animals to become more powerful through some secret techniques or strengthen some of their weaker abilities," another explained.

"This also gives Breeders the capacity to stand their ground or even have an advantage against Transcendent beings of the same rank," one concluded.

"So it seems, Hexia might specialize in abilities related to freezing and extreme cold, considering she's studying the Withering Sequence, it's not surprising," another student theorized.

"This 'Bond' is precisely what enables Breeders and Transcendent animals to work together and achieve greatness. If it were just verbal commands, it'd be very difficult to convince those proud Transcendent creatures to comply," added another.

"Well then, up next is the third match," announced the teacher.

"Light Cotton Bird, versus Dark Claw Owl!"

The bird covered in fluffy feathers took flight from Hexia's hands, while on the opposite side, a black and purple owl also soared into the air.

Specks of Light Sand began to emerge around the Light Cotton Bird, while a black and purple radiance flickered on the claws of the owl, as both sides charged towards each other, with battle imminent. Discover stories with empire
