Chapter 26: Protective Secret Technique
Autumn, the sparse sunlight in the forest.
The wind freely flowed into the sleeves, and the beads of sweat on the forehead brought coolness in the breeze. A teenager stood at one side of the clearing in the forest, excitedly and eagerly commanding his Transcendent animals.
"Left! Dodge its attack, use Stone-Cracking Charge!"
In the forest, a white-haired monkey dodged the Fire-Eyed Fox's flame jet, and during the moment when the fox was gasping for air, the monkey suddenly attacked. Its wide palm, driven by its body, slapped the Fire-Eyed Fox like hard rock, sending it flying into a tree trunk, then collapsing unconscious, losing its ability to fight.
"Very good, it was a strong and powerful attack. Student Qiu Shu has made good use of the opponent's moment of weakness to let the White Stone Monkey defeat its adversary," the teacher acting as the judge praised the teenager, sparking discussions among the students.
"That must be the first one into the top eight."
"Qiu Shu is indeed quite impressive, always able to find unexpectedly bold tactics."
"Next up is Agnes. She also drew the White Stone Monkey. I wonder what kind of commanding style she will use."
Although there are occasional repetitions among the Transcendent animals, each student's commanding style is different. Some are the calm analytical type, some are the bold and direct type, and others are adaptive and spontaneous. Even though the students cannot directly enter the fray, they still use their strengths to provide help to their subordinates.

"Have you finished eating? The fight is starting soon."
On the other side of the forest, class president Agnes stroked the small monkey in her arms, fed it pieces of apple, then placed it down on the ground. She then spread her hands, and a gust of wind blew through the trees, enveloping the White Stone Monkey. This was her Ability, allowing her to add some advantageous Statuses to her companion.
With the wind's blessing, the little monkey became even more agile. It wasn't as robust as Qiu Shu's White Stone Monkey but was lighter and more flexible.
"Next up, Agnes versus Doge."
On one side of the forest, a teenager with a Thorn-Tailed Crocodile, Black-Bellied Frog, and Rock Python entered the scene.
"Class president, I won't hold back, you know. Don't come looking for trouble if you lose. Hehe," Doge wiped his nose, and then the battle began.
"First round, let's start with the Rock Python," he said, and beside him, a dusky yellow-scaled, ugly-headed snake slithered into the arena.
Unlike normal snakes, this one's body was covered with rock-like dun scales, heavy particularly in the head, resembling a weight, earning its name Rock Python.
It raised its head, flicking its forked tongue, staring at the White Stone Monkey opposite. For a moment, neither animal moved. For Agnes, who was accustomed to strategizing based on her opponent, this was a rare sight, but she wasn't planning on waiting any longer since the blessing she gave the White Stone Monkey wasn't going to last forever.
"Charge, but be mindful of its attacks," instructed Agnes cautiously.
The White Stone Monkey suddenly rushed forward, while the Rock Python also started moving.
"Hmph, Agnes really isn't that good at taking the initiative in combat," Doge mumbled softly, and as he saw the White Stone Monkey approaching, he suddenly called out a warning.
"Use Sweep!"
In the middle of the arena, the Rock Python suddenly swung its tail, whipping at the oncoming White Stone Monkey. The tail was as straight as a rock in the wind, smashing into the White Stone Monkey with a crack, scattering the air around it and then coiling around it.
Seizing the chance, the Rock Python pressed forward, opening its jaws wide with its fangs exposed, biting into the White Stone Monkey. Soon after, the monkey lay on the ground, defeated.
"First round, Doge wins."
"That was quick, wasn't it?" a student below exclaimed in surprise. They had been expecting a few more exchanges of blows between the two.
"Sometimes it's like that, opportunities in battle are fleeting."
What followed was the second round, Thorn-Tailed Crocodile against Resin Pig. Both were tough and durable, creating a fierce scene as they grappled and thrashed in the clearing, until the Resin Pig finally pinned the Thorn-Tailed Crocodile down, immobilizing it to claim victory.
"Agnes's Big Pine Pig is still so strong, with resin and coarse hair over a round body, making it difficult even for the Thorn-Tailed Crocodile to bite through, taking a heavy loss."
"Next is the last match, Doge's Black-Bellied Frog against Agnes's Fire Illusion Mouse."
"The Fire Illusion Mouse is an advancement to Sequence 3 of the Illusion Mouse, adding some fire abilities to its previous Illusion, increasing its aggressiveness, and making the illusions even harder to discern with their heat."
On one side of the arena, Agnes stroked the large hamster beside her, whispering careful instructions before letting it enter the field, while Doge was more direct, having the Black-Bellied Frog leap into the arena.
After the teacher gave the command to start, Agnes directed the Fire Illusion Mouse to begin its Illusion Attack.
The mouse squeaked a few times, then split into two identical Illusion Mice beside it, all three growing larger, wrapped in flames, imposing and majestic.
The three Fire Illusion Mice charged from three different directions at the Black-Bellied Frog in the center, momentarily baffling the poisonous amphibian.
"Don't stay put, jump up, pounce on one of them," Doge had to make a bet and instruct the Black-Bellied Frog.
In the arena, the black and blue patterned poison frog leapt, and then violently spat venom towards the Fire Illusion Mouse in front of it.
Unfortunately, luck was not on its side, as the Illusion Mouse passed right through the venom, colliding with it, and burst into flames, making the frog croak wildly. Meanwhile, the other two Fire Illusion Mice circled behind, attacking the Black-Bellied Frog with fire and bites. This resulted in the Black-Bellied Frog being declared defeated.
