Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva

Chapter 170 Magic Mirror, Oh Magic Mirror_3

"There are a total of 42 songs, mostly in a fantasy style. Additionally, if the young miss finds some she doesn't like or finds inappropriate, 'Liuyin Studio' has also indicated that they can accept returns."

"They have a return policy now? I remember them always charging a lot and striving to make money. Why are they being so generous this time?"

"That's not exactly the case. Although the quality of the goods from 'Liuyin Studio' is not bad, their prices have always been high. If not satisfied, they've stated they can buy back the songs at 30% of the purchase price."

"Really maximizing use, aren't they." Audrey sat in front of the vanity, lightly tidying her disheveled hair, then commented.

"Guess they'll buy them back, then sell them to other minor stars, or use them as background tracks for films or TV shows, and make another profit."

After combing her hair made messy from taking off and putting on a wig, Audrey stood up again, taking Tilan by the hand to a nearby recording studio.

"Tilan, do you want to get accustomed first? After we choose the songs, we'll do a sound check here."

"Mhm."

Afterward, Audrey, with Tilan, meticulously explained the various uses of the instruments and equipment, how to tweak them, and in what scenarios they should be applied.

Although she was the owner of this small music company, she still patiently taught Tilan herself instead of asking other staff members.

Perhaps it was because of the value she placed on her and to express affection. After all, apart from Tilan, she was the only songstress present. It would have been too disrespectful to have someone else teach Tilan.

After a morning of sound checks and adjustments, Tilan gradually became familiar with the various processes within the recording studio, as well as how to use the equipment. And now, it was time to decide which song they would use for their duet.

Holding a memory card in her hand, Audrey looked at Tilan, then at herself, her expression hesitant but unable to resist the urge to try.

"Um, Tilan, let's talk over there." She was about to speak but realized that the other people in the room were eavesdropping, so she took Tilan to another quiet room.

"What's it? You're being so secretive." Tilan could sense that Audrey was a bit coy and embarrassed at the moment.

"It's about this song. I have an idea, but I'm afraid Tilan might not like it." Audrey knew she couldn't hide her emotions from the other person, so she began to explain.

"It's about Tilan and me, each taking on the role of 'Black Swan' and 'White Swan', respectively. Then, the gist of this song is about a princess in a fairy tale who has a magic mirror..."

"When she stands in front of the mirror and gently places her hand on it, the mirror reflects a girl exactly like her but with the complete opposite clothing and hair color... After that, the two of them, each taking turns, overcome many challenges together. They later fall for the same prince and begin to compete against one another, turning into adversaries."

"...At last, one of them broke the special magic mirror, and thereafter, they could no longer switch identities, while the other girl was trapped in the mirror world forever."

Listening to Audrey's description, Tilan nodded slightly, feeling that this was just a common fairy tale, seemingly nothing extraordinary.

"I hope Tilan doesn't feel that I've been offensive," Audrey said, relieved to see that Tilan wasn't upset.

"It's alright; although my sister Temisia and I are as close as twins, I don't think we're capable of such fanciful love," Tilan shook her head with a faint inclination to laugh, realizing this was what Audrey had been concerned about. Find more chapters on My Virtual Library Empire

"If it's an invitation from Audrey, it's fine, but I think the story ends too blandly here." Tilan picked up a pen and continued writing on the sheet of paper beside her.

"So, after the story comes to a close, the princess outside marries the prince, yet their love does not last, and the prince gradually tires of the unchanging princess..."

"Under the influence and prompting of a third party, the prince abandons the princess and feeds her a cup of poison..."

"Just like that, after drinking the poison, the princess is left to perish in an isolated, sealed room. At this point, her consciousness begins to blur, and she recollects the other self in the mirror, regretfully recalling the magic mirror she had shattered."

"...Under the impending shadow of death, the princess struggles. She beats against the only vanity mirror in the room, the shattered glass cutting her palms, blood sliding down the mirror, flowing... However, this mirror isn't magical, and her pain, cries, and pleas go unanswered by anyone."

"Finally, due to blood loss and the poison, the princess's consciousness fades away. Before dying, she curses, cursing the prince who betrayed her, the meddler who came between them, and everyone else who betrayed her."

"...Due to the intense hatred and curse, after the princess's death, the ordinary vanity mirror turns into a new magic mirror, and the other girl trapped inside sees the dead self outside..."

"...And so, the revenge begins."

After finishing the story, Tilan felt it was somewhat incomplete, thinking she should describe the subsequent slaughter and revenge, to truly get even, and then wrap it up perfectly.

"Uh, this, Tilan's writing is really impressive," Audrey said, her voice faintly fearful as she watched Tilan continue the story.

Though it was supposed to be a dark fairy tale, the black-haired girl seemed unusually calm and even a bit cheerful, which, on the contrary, made Audrey somewhat afraid. She had assumed that Tilan, being so gentle and kind, would oppose singing such dark themes, but the latter seemed to adapt far better than she had imagined.

"Are you scared, Audrey? It's really okay, you know; fairy tales are meant to be beautiful after all. Look, didn't the princess complete her revenge in the end? It's far more romantic than reality," Tilan said, comparing it to those who die unnoticed in a corner, having never experienced happiness. To her, such tales could truly be considered beautiful and romantic.

Standing in the quiet room, the black-haired, gentle girl's eyes shimmered with a faint blue glow as she expressed her thoughts, a concoction of purity and allure, which even the songstress Audrey found herself sinking into.

In the end, what had been Audrey's proposed narrative song under Tilan's revisions turned into a twisted and magical dark fairy tale.
