Chapter 2: The Hotel Tea Garden

Alvi: Finally, I've arrived at the hotel. The weather is terrible, and the place looks… spooky. Honestly, it feels like I've just stepped into a horror movie.

Alvi: Excuse me, is there a room available?

Manager: Yes, sir. We have one room available.

Alvi: Great, please confirm it for me.

As unsettling as the hotel looks from the outside, I was wrong to judge it too quickly. Inside, it feels surprisingly normal, though not many guests are around.

Alvi: Excuse me, where can I get lunch?

Manager: There's a small restaurant for hotel guests and staff.

Alvi: Thank you.

The restaurant wasn't crowded, as lunchtime had already passed. While eating, I struck up a conversation with an elderly man.

Alvi: Sir, may I call you Uncle?

Mr. Novel: Of course, son.

We talked for a while and even decided to have dinner together. Everything seemed fine until a strange man stormed into the restaurant, shouting and causing chaos. He broke plates and glasses, alarming everyone.

Strange Man: Tonight is cursed! Don't leave the hotel! He will come—he will!

The hotel staff hurried to restrain the man, calming the panicked guests. Dinner resumed, but an eerie tension lingered.

Mr. Novel: Alvi, I don't know if that man's claims are believable, but my instincts tell me he wasn't entirely lying.

Alvi: Haha, Uncle, it feels like we're in a live horror movie. I'm not sure if ghosts exist, but I believe some things can't be seen or understood by normal people. Mysteries remain, after all.

Mr. Novel: What do you think? Should we see for ourselves?

Alvi: Are you suggesting we go ghost hunting?

Mr. Novel: Not exactly, but if we get the chance to witness something, I wouldn't want to miss it. Have you ever experienced anything paranormal?

(Suddenly, Alvi's expression changed.)

Alvi: No… I mean, no. I haven't.

Mr. Novel: Hmm. I can tell you're hiding something, Alvi. There's more to your story, isn't there?

Alvi: Hahaha, Uncle, you're too easy to fool. I'm just joking! Of course, I've never experienced anything like that.

Mr. Novel: Sometimes, jokes reveal the truth.

Alvi: Oh, Uncle, not now. Your tricks won't work on me!

We continued eating, but soon, Uncle grimaced.

Mr. Novel: What is this? It feels rubbery…

Alvi: What? Rubbery? Maybe they mixed some meat in by mistake.

Mr. Novel: But it doesn't taste like meat.

(He spat it out, and we both froze in horror.)

Mr. Novel: Oh my Lord… it's a human thumb!

Alvi: What?! Waiter! Come here!

The waiter rushed over, but before we could demand answers, panic spread among the guests.

Alvi: This… this is a human thumb! What are you serving us? Is this some kind of sick joke?

Waiter: Please, sir, lower your voice. Other guests are panicking.

(The manager arrived to address the commotion.)

Manager: What's the issue here?

Alvi: This! It's a human thumb in our food! How do you explain this?

Manager: I'm terribly sorry, sir. This must have been a mistake.

Alvi: A mistake? A human thumb in our meal is not a mistake—it's a crime! I'm calling the police.

(Alvi tried to call, but there was no network, and his phone refused to work.)

Alvi: What's going on? No signal? This place is cursed.

Mr. Novel: Son, leave it. Just forget what happened.

Alvi: How can I forget?

(Mr. Novel's demeanor suddenly shifted. His voice grew stern and cold.)

Mr. Novel: I said, leave it!

Alvi: Okay, Uncle… if you say so.

(Internally, Alvi was unsettled. Uncle's strange behavior added to the growing unease.)

Alvi: (To himself) What's happening to Uncle? Why is he acting so differently? Something doesn't feel right.
