Miracle Summoner

Chapter 2009: -1967- The last singularity

Chaldea, Central Control Room.

"Shh!"

With the sound of steam hissing, the spiritron transfer devices activated one after another, allowing the people inside to step out.

Rozen opened his eyes, standing on the floor of the central control room, gazing at the familiar scene before him. As if marking the conclusion of an event, he murmured softly:

"We're back."

Rozen and his team had successfully returned to Chaldea from the Sixth Singularity.

Taking a closer look, apart from Rozen, the newcomers who had arrived in Chaldea for the first time also voiced their impressions one by one.

"So this is Chaldea?"

Hassan of Serenity curiously observed her surroundings.

"I see. There is indeed an unusual atmosphere here."

Artoria [Alter] responded calmly.

"Hmph, doesn't seem like much."

Jeanne [Alter] displayed a rebellious attitude, yet her expression and gaze carried no real rejection, making it clear that she was not actually displeased with Chaldea.

"Fou!"

Aside from them, a small white beast suddenly leaped out of a coffin, landing on the ground as if returning to its own territory.

"Fou also came back with us. That's a relief."

Mash, now back in her Chaldea uniform, looked at Fou with a sense of reassurance.

This mysterious little white beast had always done things its own way. Upon entering a Singularity, it would often disappear for extended periods, only to reappear unexpectedly. Its presence fluctuated so much that even Rozen and Mash occasionally forgot about it. No one ever truly knew what it was up to, yet it always managed to make it back in time for the spiritron transfer. It was, in many ways, an enigma.

But all in all, the team had returned safely from this mission, and they had brought back three powerful Servants, making the journey quite rewarding.

At that moment, Chaldea's key personnel entered the central control room, stepping forward to greet them.

"Welcome back, everyone."

Roman was the first to show visible relief, as if the tension that had gripped him for so long had finally loosened. He looked as though he could cry from joy.

"This restoration work must have been exhausting. A lot of unexpected circumstances arose in this Singularity, different from anything before."

Da Vinci remained as cheerful as ever but still expressed her appreciation.

As for Olga Marie, she cleared her throat before speaking with great formality.

"You've done well, Rozen, Mash."

After saying this, Olga Marie turned to the three new Servants.

"And to you as well—King Arthur, Saint, and the Old Man of the Mountain. It is truly an honor to welcome you to Chaldea."

As the Director of Chaldea, Olga Marie extended a formal greeting to the newly arrived Servants.

However…

(((…Why is she an owl?)))

All three Servants—who had heard of Olga Marie but never seen her actual appearance—stared blankly at the sight before them.

Suspended in midair, flapping her wings with a serious expression, Olga Marie presented an image that momentarily left them all dumbfounded.

But as legendary heroes from ages past, they were not ones to remain in shock for long.

"So you're the Director of Chaldea?"

Artoria [Alter] seemed to be assessing Olga Marie.

"Not bad. At least you fit my aesthetic preferences. You're not one of those filthy humans I despise, so that's a relief. Because of that, I won't make a fuss about you calling me a 'Saint,' but I should warn you—I am no Saint. I am a Witch, the Dragon Witch. If you get it wrong again, I won't mind testing whether I can burn your feathers off."

Jeanne [Alter] spoke with a wicked expression and tone.

"Excuse me."

Hassan of Serenity, on the other hand, remained unobtrusive. Seeing the many people in Chaldea, she avoided engaging too closely and instead stayed behind Rozen, clinging to him.

Each Servant displayed their distinct personality, giving Olga Marie a headache.

At the same time, their attitudes irked her.

Olga Marie prided herself as the heir to a noble lineage, the Director of Chaldea. She believed she had conducted herself with due propriety, yet the Servants responded in such a way. She could not let this slide.

Even though she had become what she was now, Olga Marie was still a Magus—a Magus with deep-seated beliefs. To her, Servants were familiars, and as familiars, their proper role was unquestioning obedience, not displaying such defiance.

This was the arrogance of a noble Magus. It was not exactly Olga Marie's fault, just a difference in perspective.

Thus, she intended to assert some authority.

Unfortunately for her, this plan was doomed to fail.

"Fou!"

Just as Olga Marie was about to deliver a stern rebuke, Fou suddenly leaped onto her.

"Ahh!"

Caught off guard, Olga Marie was tackled to the ground, letting out a cry of distress.

"W-What are you doing?! Have you gone mad again?! Stop... Stop this! You rude, unidentified creature! Don't—! Don't grab there—! Stop—! Noooo—!"

Her screams echoed through the room as Fou mercilessly toyed with her.

"..."

"..."

"..."

Artoria [Alter], Jeanne [Alter], and Hassan of Serenity all fell silent at the sight.

Rozen and the others, on the other hand, were completely unfazed, as if this was an everyday occurrence.

"As you can see, the Director is a bit occupied right now, so let us welcome you on her behalf."

Roman smiled at the Servants.

"From now on, Chaldea will no longer have only one Servant. Even though Mash is a Demi-Servant, she now has allies to fight alongside her. That's a good thing."

Da Vinci continued to be as carefree as ever.

At this, the three Servants finally shifted their focus away from Olga Marie.

"It seems Chaldea is not as weak as we imagined. There is at least one other Servant here. Though a technical expert, let's see if you can live up to expectations."

Artoria [Alter] glanced at Da Vinci as she spoke.

"Please take care of us."

Hassan of Serenity simply responded in her usual brief manner.

Jeanne [Alter], on the other hand, looked unimpressed.

"Even if there's only one Singularity left, it seems like the last one will be particularly troublesome. If Chaldea doesn't bolster its forces soon, the outcome might be exactly as the Lion King predicted—utter hopelessness."

She explained the reasoning behind their arrival.

To this, Roman…

"...You're absolutely right."

After a moment of silence, he sighed and admitted it.

"We heard what the Lion King said. Based on her intel, after a thorough analysis, we have successfully observed the Seventh Singularity."

The revelation shocked everyone.

"We've located the Seventh Singularity…!?"

Mash, who had been trying to pull Fou off Olga Marie, gasped in astonishment.

"Is that true?"

Rozen furrowed his brows, equally surprised.

This time, it was Da Vinci who answered.

"It's true. We have identified the era where the Seventh Singularity lies."

She then made the official announcement.

"It's in 2600 BC—the cradle of Sumerian civilization—Mesopotamia."
