Chapter 1924: -1883- Another servant?
At the border between the Holy Land and the mountainous region, a fortress stands like a stronghold, exuding a chilling atmosphere.
Fully armored soldiers are stationed here, some guarding the gates, others patrolling the perimeter, while some stand watch on the walls, the vigilance is so tight that any slight disturbance would be immediately noticed by the sentries in the watchtowers.
However, there are some things that, even if noticed, no one would care about.
For instance, the flock of birds flying across the sky.
Several birds are seen flapping their wings and flying overhead, even circling above the fortress.
The soldiers only think they are just ordinary birds, unaware that these birds have now become the eyes of their master.
Behind a hill in the mountainous region, a group of soldiers lies in hiding, completely still, not making a sound, even holding their breath, waiting for a young man's reconnaissance.
The young man crouches on the ground, surrounded by the soldiers, protected by two followers, his eyes closed, sharing his senses with the birds flying over the fortress.
Not long after, Rozen opens his eyes.
"It's fine."
Rozen speaks calmly.
"Although the defenses are tight, the soldiers stationed at the fortress are just ordinary ones. I haven't spotted any Knights of Holy City, nor any traces of the Knights of the Round Table."
Rozen confirmed this.
Then, a report from Chaldea came through.
"Only ordinary life signs appear on the surface, but there is an underground space in the fortress. It's very vast, and we've detected a significant amount of magical energy. It's not from the Knights but likely some magical creatures."
Roman's voice comes through the communicator on Rozen's wrist.
"These magical creatures are likely kept by the Holy Land Knights or possibly were already living there. The fortress is built directly on land that has magical properties, and the underground space was created by utilizing the original monster nests, turning it into a prison. They've perfectly used these creatures for defense, quite a strategy."
Da Vinci commented appreciatively.
"No wonder only ordinary soldiers are stationed here, not even a single Knight. I see, that's their defense."
Olga Marie suddenly understood.
"So, attacking the fortress is not difficult, but breaking into the underground prison would be another story?"
Mash said seriously.
There are only ordinary soldiers on the surface, so taking the fortress would not be hard with their forces.
But in the confined underground prison, not only are there magical creatures, but because of the environment, they cannot afford to be reckless, or they might be buried alive.
Thus, Artoria Alter's Noble Phantasm cannot be used here, and even any significant magic cannot be released. With the skill "Mana Burst," even a small amount of magic could damage the underground prison, and a careless mistake could lead to being buried alive.
In other words, once inside, they must refrain from using too much power. Even though Rozen and his companions would survive being buried, they cannot be sure about the prisoners inside.
"Can we detect any Servant presence? Big bro?"
Rozen asks Roman.
Roman's reply follows promptly.
"Yes," Roman says seriously. "We've already detected a Servant presence in the underground prison. Not just one, but two Servant signatures."
Upon hearing this, everyone is taken aback.
"Two Servant signatures?"
Mash tightens her face.
"So, does that mean there's another Servant stationed in the fortress underground?"
Artoria Alter frowns.
Rozen, after a brief pause, reacts.
"No, based on the intelligence we've gathered, along with the information you've obtained over the past six months, we know that all the Servants of the Holy City should be Round Table Knights."
Rozen refutes.
"And if it were a Round Table Knight, there would certainly be a squad of Holy City Knights accompanying them, but my familiar reconnaissance didn't detect any Knights. Even the number of horses in the stables didn't show any signs of being excessive, proving the Round Table Knights haven't arrived."
Unless the knights of the Holy City came here on foot, and they all entered the underground prison.
However, traveling across the land without horses would be extremely slow and exhausting, and Rozen does not believe the Holy City would employ such a method of travel.
But...
"If it's not a Round Table Knight, then whose Servant signature is this?"
Mash asks in surprise.
Artoria Alter, on the other hand, immediately understands Rozen's meaning.
"Could it be that another Servant, like Hassan, was captured by the Holy Land Knights?"
Artoria Alter's words make everyone's spirits lift.
If that's the case...
"Then, if we rescue them, we could gain another Servant's fighting power!"
Olga Marie exclaims with excitement, voicing the current situation.
"Moreover, the captured Servant must have extreme value or be exceptionally troublesome, otherwise, the Holy Land Knights wouldn't have imprisoned them but would have simply eliminated them."
Da Vinci realizes this point.
The only problem is they don't know what kind of Servant it is.
Artoria Alter had also previously said that besides the three major factions' Servants, all neutral Servants have already been eradicated by the Round Table Knights.
So, the Servants that have survived to this point must be special.
"Looks like this will be a bigger gain than we expected."
Artoria Alter makes a decision immediately.
"Let's begin the attack now."
After confirming the situation, there's no longer anything to fear.
"Senpai."
Mash looks at Rozen.
Rozen shrugs and smiles suddenly.
"Then, let's begin."
With that, Rozen slowly places his hand on the ground, and magic power surges.
In the next moment, a magic circle expands.
...
At the same time, on the watchtowers and walls of the Round Table Fortress, some soldiers detect unusual activity.
"Roar..."
"Roar..."
The sounds resemble distant dragon roars.
"Boom... Boom..."
The ground trembles, as if thousands of horses are charging.
"Something's wrong!"
The soldiers immediately realize this.
Soon, many of them see it.
"Roar!"
"Roar!"
Amidst the roaring sounds, a group of dragons flies by.
"Boom... Boom!"
And on the other side of the horizon, amidst rising smoke, several golems charge forward, their heavy footsteps shaking the earth as they advance.
Seeing this scene, the soldiers' eyes widen, and they begin to tremble.
Then...
"Enemy... enemy attack...!"
With a scream of despair, the entire fortress descends into chaos, turning into a battlefield.
