Chapter 178: The Battle of Immortals (Part 2)

A Dota hero, running around in League of Legends?

A Dota hero in League of Legends? Xie Qiansi subconsciously thought. Perhaps this is a special event for League of Legends—maybe a planned collaboration with Dota? And the programmers, while testing, accidentally let an AI slip into their exclusive server?

However, the colleague who recognized the Wraith looked as if he had seen a ghost. "What the hell kind of Wraith is this... Even OMG isn't this freaky!"

"Four abilities? A Berserker's Roar, two Refractions, and one Brief Resurgence?! Does such a Wraith even exist?"

Xie Qiansi had only heard of Dota before and didn't know much about it. Only after looking at the Wraith's abilities did he realize how abnormal it was.

The first ability was a group taunt that ignored Magic immunity.

The second and third abilities were passive, each reflecting 22% of damage, meaning a total of 44% damage was reflected to surrounding targets.

The fourth ability was simple: any damage taken was converted into Healing.

This was simply a tank so monstrous that attacking it meant getting hurt yourself, and it had two lives to boot! Attacking it to death would leave oneself crippled!

At this point, the Purple Side players also noticed that Xie Qiansi's team had suddenly been wiped out and asked in the public channel:

'Wow, how did you guys manage a team suicide?'

'Awesome! Did you find a bug?'

'Just FF@20, don't waste everyone's time.'

Xie Qiansi hastily typed, 'A Wraith Strange Creature spawned on our side and wiped us all out! It's heading towards the Big Dragon!'

'Really, go check the Big Dragon pit, and you'll see the Wraith!'

The Purple Side players were stunned—they were currently fighting the Big Dragon, planning to push the base in one go, not even intending to give Xie Qiansi's team a chance to surrender.

Despite hearing this strange news, the Purple Side players didn't stop; they continued to assault the Big Dragon.

For some reason, this Big Dragon seemed to have an unusually high amount of Health Points, and its map-wide abilities were firing off with exceptional speed, quickly leaving the Purple Side players critically low on Health Points.

"This doesn't make sense. Our Level should be high enough to take on the Big Dragon..."

Just as the Purple Side players considered retreating, they saw a shadowy monster appear within vision in the Blue Side jungle.

"There really is a Wraith!" Utterly shocked, they quickly took a screenshot. "Haha, it must be a game Easter egg! Maybe we'll get a skin if we kill it?"

"Let's try!"

Five seconds later, five more hero corpses lay in the river, all of whom had died from the area-of-effect damage reflection.

They were halfway through their attack when they saw their characters' Health Points plummeting and realized something was wrong. They tried to stop and retreat, but by then, the Wraith had already started attacking the Big Dragon!

They couldn't stop the Big Dragon, and its damage was unexpectedly high. The Wraith, merely by reflecting damage, killed them all!

Xie Qiansi's team typed, 'We weren't lying. It really is a Wraith.'

Purple Side players: 'It really is! Is this some kind of event?'

Blue Side players: 'No idea. Probably a bug. Don't push the lanes for now; let's see what the Wraith intends to do.'

Purple Side players: 'Okay.'

But Xie Qiansi's team had no vision of the Big Dragon. Using Ezreal's displacement ability, Xie Qiansi risked his life to place a ward. He chose a spot as far from the Big Dragon as possible, but as soon as he placed the ward, he was killed by the reflection.

"The range of this Wraith's reflection is too huge!"

Even though his game character died, Xie Qiansi didn't much care. His attention was instead drawn to the battle in the Big Dragon pit.

The Big Dragon, namely Baron Nash, is the strongest non-hero creature in Summoner's Valley. Defeating it grants gold and a powerful buff that increases the entire team's strength by nearly 20%.

Although it sounded impressive, it was ultimately just a buff provider on the map. For either the Purple Side players or the Blue Side players, with their current equipment and no enemy interference, slaying the Big Dragon would not actually be difficult.

Logically, the Wraith that could wipe out both teams' Players should have an easy time taking on Baron Nash.

However, the scene unfolding before them instantly made them doubt whether they had been fighting a fake Baron Nash all along.

Baron Nash, still in its serpent form, was now covered with numerous special effects.

Xie Qiansi was not very proficient in League of Legends, but relying solely on the sounds and special effects, he could tell that Baron Nash was at least under the effects of the Berserker's R ability 'immune to all control abilities,' the Weapon Master's E ability 'dodge all physical damage,' and the Barbarian King's ultimate 'immune to death for the next five seconds'!

Moreover, in the Big Dragon pit, various damage-dealing abilities were constantly being cast without pause: the Vengeful Flame Spirit's W ability 'Pillar of Flame,' the Sad Mummy's R ability 'Curse of the Sad Mummy,' and every second, a new Tibbers—the Dark Child's R ability—was being summoned.

At least a dozen abilities were activating every second, but because the effects were layered so thickly, Xie Qiansi couldn't keep up!

Most importantly, Healing abilities were continuously appearing on Baron Nash—like the Star Child's W ability 'Healing Light' and the Summoner spell 'Healing Technique'—keeping its Health Points always full!

"First a bugged Wraith, and now a bugged Big Dragon?" Xie Qiansi and his colleague were shocked. "Who can fight against such a Big Dragon?!"

However, the Wraith that could reflect 44% of damage suddenly grew larger. Wrapped in golden light, it was almost unaffected by the abilities launched by Baron Nash!

"Black King Bar BKB! A Dota item, it grants the character Magic immunity!" his colleague exclaimed, growing excited. "The Black King Bar has been active for so long; hasn't its duration expired yet?"

"The Big Dragon's abilities also seem to have no cooldown."

"Wait, the Wraith's Dragon Heart is continuously active, regenerating 7% Health Points every second? Oh, but Baron Nash isn't Roshan, a defense tower, or a hero..."

"The abilities on the Wraith have changed?"

"Could this be two cheat programs battling it out?"

Purple Side players: "Damn, this must be two hackers who've broken in and want to have a cheat-versus-cheat battle here."

Blue Side players: "Quick, record this! It's a battle of gods!"

Watching the divine battle in Summoner's Valley, Xie Qiansi asked, "But their Health Points hardly drop. How can a winner be determined?"

The Wraith seemed to be aware of this too. Its abilities suddenly changed, and then a blue shadow appeared behind it, launching an ice ball towards Baron Nash.

"Ice Spirit's ultimate!" his colleague exclaimed. "It can negate all Healing effects, and if Health Points fall below a certain threshold, it instantly kills! But will it work?"

The sudden drop in Baron Nash's Health Points told the onlookers that it worked!

Seeing that Baron Nash's Healing was finally broken, the Wraith began activating other abilities, and the forms of Dota heroes continuously emerged behind it.

First, Moon Knight's ultimate, 'Lunar Eclipse.' Although Summoner's Valley has no day-night cycle, the sky suddenly darkened, and countless rays of Moonlight rained down on Baron Nash.

Next, Silencer's ultimate, 'Global Silence.' As Xie Qiansi and the others watched, the entire game suddenly fell silent. The battle between the Wraith and Baron Nash became like a silent film; everyone was unable to use abilities.

Then, Axe King's 'Berserker's Roar' forced Baron Nash to only attack the Wraith, rendering it unable to perform any other actions.

Finally, Doombringer's ultimate, 'Doom,' forbade the target from using any abilities or props. It would normally have been blocked by Baron Nash's Banshee's Veil, but after Axe King's roar, the Banshee's Veil only activated once before Doom struck through on the second attempt.

"Ah, the hacker controlling Baron Nash seems to be able to use all props and all heroes, but League of Legends doesn't have a Magic immunity item, so the hacker controlling the Wraith seized the opportunity," his colleague said.

Xie Qiansi said, "So the abilities and props from these two games are interchangeable?"

"Who knows. Let's not speculate on the terrifying capabilities of top-tier hackers with our shallow technical understanding," the colleague replied.

At this moment, a message appeared above Xie Qiansi's screen:

'Please immediately slay the intruder. Upon a successful kill, all Players will be gifted every hero and all their skins!'

Xie Qiansi and his colleagues were taken aback and asked, "Wow, can hackers even gift us heroes and skins?"

Purple Side players: "You believe what a hacker says? Just enjoy the show. Having this video to brag about is even better than reaching the top rank!"
