Chapter 14: Foundations of Trust
Just after Om ended his conversation with Tony Stark, he got fresh and took a packet of dry nuts. This kind of routine has become his daily life nowadays. He had grounded himself for about couple of months except for some together dinner with his family.
He had been living in his lab nowadays to make his work smoother plus since his manager was in Istanbul growing slowly after some of the employees had to go and help him find other employees to run the first branch obviously would be difficult so, he had to manage the company's work which he used to pin on Max.
Om, sitting on the sofa in his lab office in Sokovia. His life had changed since the tragedy that forced him to dedicate all his time to survival and finding a way to atone to his mother. Creating drones and dealing with Stane's actions had disrupted his once-normal life, but he had come to terms with it.
Regardless, he knew he had to grow stronger. To do so, he needed to find new allies and expand his influence, ensuring support in case he or his family ever faced danger. After all, reality itself was perilous, especially in a world that overlapped with the nightmares haunting his nights.
"Boss! Mr. stark has contacted and is on hold", reported Aether.
"Oh! help me passing his call, will ya?", replied Om by putting packet of half finished nuts.
"Here you go Boss!", replied Aet. (i will be using aether as aet )
On the other side of call, Tony was hesitating briefly before calling Om, wondering why he was even entertaining the idea of working with a teenager even after convincing himself of help he would get from the very teenager.
Nevertheless, He called and after their call got connected, and Om greeted him in a composed, business-like tone, reinforcing his maturity despite his age.
"Alright, kid. You have got my attention. What is the next move?" spoke Tony.
" Sure,.. sir! It seemed my veil has been uplifted, i kinda felt uncomfortable but now i can feel at ease now that you are on my side. I am thankful for your attention sir!" replied Om sincerely, since he had to be too careful but now his model figure was with him.
Then Om sent the files which he had kept secret from Tony which were ground breaking plus he didn't have evidence to backup, so he hadn't send to Tony before.
There was a brief silence from Tony's end, followed by the sound of frantic typing. Om knew Tony would be combing through every detail, his mind working at full speed.
Finally, Tony spoke, his voice tight with disbelief. "This is... I mean, this is incredible, but—"
"How did I get this?" Om interjected, already anticipating the question. "Let's just say I've got my ways. The important part is, the information is solid. Even though i cannot give evidence as last time of Stane coming for your arc reactor. It's time we stop dancing around and deal with Stane before he takes this to the next level."
Tony didn't reply immediately, he wanted to check if Om would faze "I don't trust many people, kid. This is huge. If this is a setup, I'll make sure you regret it."
Om's voice remained steady, unfazed by the threat. "I understand, sir. But the stakes are too high. We're talking about Hydra, Stane, and the kind of tech that could change the game forever if left unchecked. If we don't act, the damage will be irreversible."
Tony paused, clearly wrestling with the information and its implications. After a moment, he let out a breath. "Alright, kid. Let's say I believe you for a second. And you how are able to know about my arc reactor though it was securely safe with Jarvis, how?"
Om replied though hesitant, "Sir, lets say i knew about it not by hacking or any source but something i cannot say what it is. Its kinda i had your info in my soul which is why i knew about you and Stane too and his dangers."
tony asked, "So, what you are saying is that you had this info since birth. Are you that dumb. forget it since you know and i know your story, i will let it slide. what's the plan you made?"
Om took a deep breath, letting the weight of the moment settle. He knew Tony wouldn't buy it easily, but there was no going back now. He needed to say something that would make Tony stop questioning everything. "You're right to be skeptical, Tony. It sounds ridiculous, I get it. But here's the thing. I've had help. Not just from tech or intelligence networks, but from someone a powerful Sorcerer."
Om let that sink in, watching Tony's brows furrow in confusion. "I'm not talking about some random wizard. I'm talking about someone with a level of understanding of the world. I'm... a junior learning things. I don't i happens to other but i can see Some kind of... glimpse into the memories of others. It's not always clear, but it's enough to piece things together."
Om leaned forward, voice dropping to a more serious tone. "I can see fragments—memories, moments in time—that don't belong to me. It's like looking into the past of people who've lived through things I couldn't even imagine. And one of those glimpses? It led me to Stane. To the truth about his dealings with Hydra, the arc reactor suit, everything."
Om paused for a moment, making sure his words had the desired impact. "I don't know how it works, or why these glimpses happen, but I'm not stupid enough to ignore what's in front of me. What Stane's doing... it's dangerous. And we can't just rely on tech and strategy alone. This is about more than just the suit or weapons. This is about something that can reshape everything, Tony. That's why I need you on board with this."
Tony sat back in his chair, his eyes narrowing as he processed what Om just told him. "Wait, hold on a second," Tony's voice was skeptical, his brow furrowed. "You're telling me the Sorcerer Supreme—like, magic wizard level guy—has been giving you... what, visions? Glimpses of other people's memories? Come on, kid, you gotta be kidding me."
He shook his head, trying to wrap his mind around the idea. "I've seen a lot of strange stuff in my day—shrapnel in my chest, secret government projects, you name it—but that? That's pushing it."
Tony leaned forward, eyes flashing with a mix of disbelief and curiosity. "Alright, alright. Let's assume for a second you're not completely insane—how does this whole memory glimpse thing help you? How the hell is it getting us closer to stopping Stane?"
He paused, tapping his fingers on the desk, and then let out a breath. "I'm gonna let the whole 'magic' thing slide for now. For all I know, I could be talking to someone who's got a serious case of cabin fever. But if Stane's involved in all this, we need to move fast. This—" he gestured to the files—"this is real, right? No more games."
Om thought for a second and thought of the files he hadn't send thinking of the barrage of information he had given to Mr. stark. but he didn't thought he should send all now. He would send after dealing with the Stane.
Om smirked slightly, feeling a sense of calm despite the intensity of the conversation. "The plan is simple: we work together. You've got the resources, I've got the intel. Plus, i have drones which can help 24/7 which will help us in collecting the info which cannot be done from your satellite. And we need your suit of amour which ...."
Tony spoke without letting Om finish his thoughts, "Ooh ohh kid calm down i asked for your part not mine. Just make sure this doesn't go south, else i'm holding you responsible."
"I wouldn't expect anything less," Om replied smoothly. "But you'll find I'm not wrong. Now, the clock is ticking, Mr. Stark. Let's move before Stane has a chance to escalate things further."
The call ended, and Om reclined in his chair, his thoughts already shifting to the next step. He had done his part—now, it was up to Tony to take the lead.
