MHA: UltraMan

Chapter 24: Chapter 24: U.A

The morning light spilled through the open window, casting soft golden streaks across the room. The curtains swayed gently with the breeze, carrying the distant melody of birdsong. Beneath the white sheets, a steady breath stirred.

His eyes blinked open, adjusting to the warm glow. Beside him, strands of red and white hair fanned across the pillow, catching the light like silk. The slow, rhythmic rise and fall of the sheets hinted at the peaceful slumber beneath. A delicate collarbone peeked from the covers, her skin kissed by the morning sun.

She let out a soft hum, shifting in her sleep. Instinctively, she moved closer, her warmth pressing against him as her arms wrapped around his torso. Their skin met beneath the sheets, heat radiating between them as she nestled into his embrace.

Jackson smiled, his hand moving gently through her hair as he watched her snuggle closer. A quiet warmth filled his chest as she stirred, her eyes fluttering open to reveal their deep violet hue. Sleep still lingered in her gaze, but the flush on her cheeks slowly faded.

"Good morning," he murmured, his voice soft. Leaning down, he pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead, his fingers still threading through her hair.

"Good morning," she mumbled, burying herself against him before shifting on top of him.

Jason chuckled, his hands resting on her back. "What are you doing? We need to get up."

"Don't want to," Uta murmured, pressing her face into his chest. "Just a little longer."

He let out a soft laugh, savoring the moment before reminding her, "You do remember you have work today, right?"

Silence. Then—

Uta's eyes widened in realization. "Crap! I forgot!"

In an instant, she shot up, dragging the sheets with her as she stumbled toward the bathroom. A second later, the sound of rushing water filled the room.

Jason let out a small laugh, watching her scramble before turning his gaze toward the window. From their bed, he took a deep breath, letting the morning air settle in.

Four years. It had been four years since he asked Uta out, and so much had changed since then.

Exhaling, he finally rose from the bed, stretching before heading toward the bathroom. Without a second thought, he stepped into the shower, joining Uta as they got ready for the day ahead.

As they stepped out of their home, Uta muttered behind him, "I'm going to be late."

Jason shot her a smirk. "Guess we overdid it, huh?"

Her face flushed red. "Yeah, well, easy for you to say, Mr. Endless Stamina."

He chuckled. "Yeah, yeah. You want a lift?"

"Yes, please," she sighed.

With a gentle hold, he wrapped his arms around her and took off. The wind rushed past them as they soared above quiet neighborhoods, the rooftops blurring beneath them. In mere seconds, the cityscape of Musutafu unfolded below, and soon, a massive structure came into view.

Jason's eyes widened. "Wow… that school is huge."

U.A. loomed ahead, its massive structure dominating the skyline, a symbol of strength and prestige. The building's towering presence cast a shadow over the surrounding area, unmistakable to anyone who approached.

Jason descended away from the crowds of students making their way to school, landing near a quieter entrance. He glanced around. "So, this is where the teachers enter?"

Uta nodded. "Yep. Well, I guess this is goodbye for now—unless you want to come check things out?"

"Am I even allowed to?" he asked, raising a brow.

She smiled. "Of course! You're Ultraman—who wouldn't want you inside their school?"

Before he could respond, she pulled out an ID badge and handed it to him. His name was printed neatly across it.

"Plus," she added with a grin, "I got permission from the principal to bring you along."

Jackson happily pinned on the badge and stepped onto the campus, his eyes scanning the surroundings. "This place is amazing," he said, his voice filled with awe. "Probably better than Shield Academy.. I should've come here instead," he added with a playful chuckle.

"This place is pretty amazing," Uta said, clasping her hands behind her back.

"I still can't believe they let a 22-year-old teach," Jackson remarked, shaking his head.

"Well, they needed someone to teach Haki," she replied with a playful smile. "Plus, I'll make a great music teacher too."

"That's all you'll be teaching?" he asked, raising a brow.

Uta blinked. "What do you mean? Of course, that's all! Why would they trust me to teach anything else?"

"Well, you're great at hero work too—what about teaching those courses?"

Uta sighed, shaking her head. "There are plenty of great heroes teaching here. I'm not needed for that. Plus, All Might's teaching here."

"What?! You didn't tell me!"

She giggled. "C'mon, let's go."

Uta pushed a door open, revealing the room with her name printed on the side. She twirled around, her arms outstretched, a playful grin on her face. "This is my office," she said, motioning to the cluttered desk stacked high with papers, her computer blinking softly in the corner.

Jackson raised an eyebrow as he glanced around. "Nice, when do you start your class?"

Uta leaned against her desk, tapping a pencil thoughtfully on the stack of papers. "Well, the music class is in the third period, and the fifth period. But I'll be teaching Haki to the hero courses later in the week." She paused, a hint of excitement in her voice as she added, "Busy week ahead!"

"Hello there!" Jackson jumped slightly as a small figure appeared in the doorway. Standing there was Principal Nezu, a peculiar creature with white fur with distinct features of a mouse—though Jackson wasn't entirely sure what kind of animal he was.

"Uta, thank you again for accepting to teach our students this semester," Nezu said, his voice calm and polite as he walked further into the office. He paused for a moment, gazing out the window. "We are truly in a time crunch."

"No problem," Uta replied with a smile. "I'm glad to help."

Nezu turned toward Jackson, his eyes bright with enthusiasm. "Ah, Ultraman! It's a pleasure to meet you. When Uta mentioned you were her partner, I could hardly believe it. A man of your stature taking the time to visit our humble school—it's truly an honor." His tail flicked behind him in excitement.

"It's a pleasure to meet you too, sir," Jackson replied, shaking the small paws .
