Chapter 37: Chapter 36 School Season

"Are you too careless? You were almost killed."

Akira squinted at the sky, shielding his eyes from the sun with one hand. A faint smirk played at the corners of his lips.

The massive fireball was a desperate, life-burning attack from Tada's father, meant to ensure mutual destruction. Yet, Akira had emerged unscathed, leaving his opponent's ultimate move in ruins.

Moments later, Akira's parents arrived, their faces etched with concern. Seeing him alive and unharmed, their tension melted into relief.

The aftermath required explanations. Akira offered a carefully crafted story, mixing truths with subtle lies. To his surprise, Sato Kyoko's testimony aligned perfectly with his version of events. Even more unexpected was the testimony of Tada's housekeeper, who not only supported Akira's account but also openly criticized the Tada family. Perhaps the man had suffered silently under their tyranny for years.

**Morning News Broadcast**

"The news this morning reports a shocking incident in Haiyuan Town. Yesterday afternoon, professional Hero Taoi was involved in the murder of an ordinary citizen. Tragically, he also killed his wife and son in the process."

"Eyewitnesses describe the mountain turning into a sea of fire before a bizarre sandstorm extinguished the flames. In mere moments, the lush forested mountain became a barren desert."

---

In a dimly lit bar, Tomura Shigaraki sat hunched over, held by the many hands adorning his shoulders. His pale, sickly face was illuminated by the glow of the TV as he fixated on the news report.

"A sea of fire and then a desert? Something fascinating happened in Haiyuan Town," Shigaraki muttered coldly.

Kurogiri, standing behind him, added, "A professional Hero murdering civilians? Clearly, the authorities are concealing details about this 'ordinary person.' There's more to this story."

Shigaraki's lips curled into a menacing smile. "Hidden? That just makes me more curious. The report claims Taoi and his family died, but it suspiciously avoids mentioning the status of this 'ordinary person.' Strange, isn't it?"

"What are you suggesting?" Kurogiri asked, intrigued.

"I've looked into Taoi. His Quirk, *Raging Fires*, aligns with the firestorm described in the report. But the sudden transformation of the mountain into a desert? That points to someone else—a survivor. Likely, it's the so-called 'ordinary person.'"

Shigaraki's tone turned calculating. "This reeks of a cover-up. If we uncover the truth, it could be valuable for our plans."

**All Might's Apartment**

"A whole mountain transformed into a desert… Why does this remind me of that boy, Akira?" All Might mused as he watched the news. "But Haiyuan Town is over 400 kilometers away. It couldn't be him… could it?"

His initial skepticism gave way to doubt. With Akira's sand-based Quirk, the coincidence felt too strong to ignore.

Shaking his head, All Might dismissed the thought. "I'm overthinking it. There's no way." He turned off the TV and grabbed a slice of bread before heading out. "There's still much to do today."

---

Five days passed since the dramatic events in Haiyuan Town.

After parting ways with Sato Kyoko, Akira returned home with his parents. During this time, he received confirmation of his acceptance into U.A. High School.

Akira's exam results were impressive: 60 points in combat and 60 points in rescue, earning him the top spot. With U.A.'s rigorous standards and a competitive admission rate of over 300 applicants per year, his performance was exceptional.

He was placed in Class 1-A, the prestigious class renowned for its high-achieving students. Akira couldn't care less about whose spot he might have taken—after all, it wasn't his fault they couldn't measure up.

---

**The First Day at U.A.**

On the morning of his first day, Akira overslept. After hastily getting ready, he sprinted toward U.A., navigating the vast campus.

The school's grandeur was overwhelming. Without the guidance signs, Akira doubted he'd ever find Class 1-A.

**"Tap, tap, tap!"**

His hurried footsteps echoed in the corridor until he came to a stop in front of a door labeled "1-A."

"We're finally here," Akira muttered, pushing the door open.

The classroom was eerily silent. The students sat attentively, their eyes on the blackboard. At the front, a yellow sleeping bag lay slumped on the floor.

"You're late," a voice drawled.

Aizawa Shouta, the homeroom teacher, peeked out of the sleeping bag, his expression as tired as his tone.

Akira opened his mouth to explain, but Aizawa cut him off. "Just find a seat."

Nodding, Akira scanned the room and chose the back corner, his preferred spot during his previous life. He had always been the quiet observer, sitting far from the teacher's gaze.

As he settled into his seat, whispers rippled through the room.

"Isn't that… the guy who scored first in the entrance exam?" whispered Yaoyorozu Momo, her eyes narrowing in recognition.

"Half a year ago, he appeared in my family's building," she murmured to herself.

Bakugo smirked from across the room. "Tch, I'm glad you're here. Things just got interesting."

Meanwhile, Todoroki glanced at Akira with quiet curiosity. "So, this is Kitagawa Akira… the top scorer and rumored apprentice of All Might," he thought.

The hushed chatter was interrupted as Aizawa straightened on the podium.

"I'm your homeroom teacher, Aizawa Shouta," he announced, his tone as lifeless as ever. "Let's begin."
