Chapter 22: Chapter 6

Izuku Pov

As the summer heat began to fade, I felt a mix of excitement and nerves bubbling in my stomach. Today was the day—my first day at U.A. High School. My brother, Anos, was already a seasoned veteran of the school, having completed his first year with impressive accolades. As he casually adjusted his sleek hero costume, I could see the confidence radiating from him. He caught my eye and offered a reassuring smile.

"You're going to do great, Izuku. Just remember to use your quirk wisely," Anos said, giving me a pat on the back. His words wrapped around me like a warm blanket, easing a bit of my anxiety.

Our mother's cheery voice drifted into the hallway, breaking the tension. "I'm so proud of both of you! Go out there and make me proud," she cheered, her eyes gleaming with tears of joy. My father clapped a hand on my shoulder, offering encouragement of his own. "This is just the beginning, son. You have the potential to become a great hero."

With our parents' heartfelt words echoing in my mind, Anos and I made our way to school, the air laden with the scent of early autumn. As we arrived, I marveled at the enormous gates of U.A. High. Anxiety gripped my chest, yet I held on to the hope that I would rise to the occasion.

Once we entered the bustling halls, I felt overwhelmed. Students were chatting excitedly about their summer breaks, showcasing their quirks and costumes. Anos was immediately recognized; his reputation had already spread among the students. He carried an air of calm confidence as he nodded at familiar faces. Meanwhile, my heart raced as I stepped timidly into this vibrant world. I was finally here, where I would forge my own path.

The mix of students buzzing with excitement made my pulse quicken as we approached our classroom. As we entered, I overheard whispers about Anos, tales of his feats and power. It both terrified and inspired me. I felt like a speck in comparison, especially considering I was the current bearer of One for All, a quirk that had the potential to change everything for me.

As I wandered the hall between classes, I spotted All Might waving at me from a distance, that enormous grin of his practically lighting up the room. My heart skipped a beat. All Might, the symbol of peace himself, was here. Hurrying over, I couldn't contain my excitement.

"Good to see you here, Young Midoriya!" he boomed, his presence as overwhelming as ever. "I have no doubt you'll do amazing things with that quirk of yours."

"Thank you," I managed to reply, my voice trembling slightly. I couldn't help but feel grateful; All Might had given me One for All when I was quirkless. It was a second chance, a gift wrapped in responsibility. We exchanged words of encouragement, and after a moment that felt like eternity, I headed to class, buoyed by his belief in me.

As the first class began, we were introduced to our quirks in what felt like a whirlwind. The teacher, Aizawa-sensei, laid out the rules, but my mind was racing. I had to keep the secret of One for All from my classmates; the last thing I wanted was for them to get hurt because of me. I clutched a piece of paper tightly in my hands, feeling the sweat gather on my palms as I waited for my turn.

One by one, students demonstrated their quirks. Some showcased abilities like ice manipulation or enhancement of strength, drawing applause and praise. As I observed nervously, my anxiety spiked when it was finally my turn. Standing before the class, I took a deep breath and introduced my quirk as a "superpower type," deliberately omitting its name to protect its true nature.

When Aizawa-sensei tossed me a ball to throw, time seemed to slow. I concentrated, channeling everything I had into my throw. The ball flew through the air, soaring beyond the classroom and vanishing from sight. Gasps filled the room, and I felt relief wash over me as I successfully kept the secret of One for All hidden. Aizawa nodded in acknowledgment; his neutral expression hid his intrigue, but I could sense my potential had piqued his interest.

As the class continued, I was paired with a girl named Ochaco Uraraka for a partner exercise. Her bubbly nature and enthusiasm were infectious. The moment she demonstrated her gravity manipulation, I felt an inexplicable pang of jealousy. She could openly share her power without fear.

We began to work together, blending her gravity-defying abilities with my own unexplained strength. As we practiced, I could feel the exhilarating thrill of teamwork as we moved effortlessly in sync. With each failure, we laughed together, learning to adapt and grow.

"Hey, Izuku," she said, smiling brightly, "I think we make a great team!"

Her cheerful demeanor lifted my spirits. I realized that while I had a heavy burden of responsibility, I was also surrounded by incredible people who were eager and willing to embark on this journey with me. Anos had paved the way, but now it was my turn to forge my own legacy, and I couldn't wait to see where this path would take me.
