Shouji was running at full speed toward Ojiro and Shiro, who were positioned firmly in front of the weapon. Shiro took a defensive stance, raising his arms as he prepared to absorb the incoming attack. His mind raced through the possibilities of how this situation might unfold.

'Best-case scenario: I adapt upon impact and can counter immediately. Worst-case? Shouji's strength blows us away, and he takes the weapon,' Shiro thought, his body tense with anticipation. As Shouji barreled closer, Shiro activated his Metavision, scanning the immediate area for potential escape routes or countermeasures. The options were limited. 'Maybe a sweep to knock him off balance? No, the shield-like structure of his wings is too large, and the timing's too tight—I'd still get hit.'

Shouji closed in, the sound of his powerful footsteps reverberating through the floor. The distance between them shrank to mere centimeters, and Shiro braced himself, his heartbeat quickening.

In the observation room, the tension among the students was palpable. Kirishima leaned forward, his eyes glued to the screen. "The climax…" he murmured, unable to look away. The room's atmosphere was charged with anticipation as the battle reached its peak.

Everyone's gazes remained fixed on the monitors. Some hoped for Shouji's dramatic comeback, while others eagerly awaited the outcome of the clash. All Might observed silently, his keen eyes analyzing the effort and determination displayed by both sides. "These students are really giving it their all… Such determination," he said softly, before raising his voice to encourage them. "Give it your all! PLUS ULTRA!"

As Shouji reached striking distance, he made an unexpected move. Instead of slamming into them with his shield, he opened his wings wide and enveloped Shiro and Ojiro in a swift motion. Shiro's eyes widened in surprise, completely caught off guard by the unorthodox maneuver.

"TIMES UP!" All Might's booming voice echoed through the building, signaling the end of the match.

In the observation room, confusion rippled through the students. Yaoyorozu tilted her head, her brow furrowed. "Shiro and Ojiro won… But why did Shouji stop like that?" she asked, perplexed.

"No," Kirishima interjected, shaking his head. "Look closely…"

On the screen, Shouji released Shiro and Ojiro, stepping back to reveal the white capture tape tightly wound around their bodies. The realization hit like a shockwave.

"The winners are… TEAM B: SHOJI AND TODOROKI!" All Might announced triumphantly, his voice filled with pride.

Shiro's mind reeled as he processed the situation. He looked down at the tape binding him, a feeling of disbelief settling in. 'He completely outsmarted me,' Shiro thought, clenching his fists. 'I got too comfortable relying on my powers. I stopped thinking as strategically as I normally would.' The disappointment gnawed at him.

Ojiro sighed heavily, running a hand through his hair. "You're really something else…" he muttered, his voice tinged with frustration and admiration.

But Shiro was lost in his own thoughts. 'A regular student, with no background in real-life combat situations, just outsmarted me… If this can happen now, what about when I face actual villains? How can I protect anyone if I let my guard down like this?'

Shouji, noticing Shiro's lack of response, turned toward him. "Where's Todoroki?" he asked, his voice steady despite his exhaustion.

Shiro didn't answer, too consumed by his own self-reflection. Seeing his unresponsiveness, Shouji nodded to himself and hurried downstairs to find his teammate.

Ojiro, standing nearby, placed a hand on Shiro's shoulder, snapping him out of his trance. "You're not always going to win, you know. That's why we're here—to learn and improve," he said, his tone calm and reassuring. Ojiro smiled faintly, his expression sincere. "Honestly, I feel worse than you do. You managed to come up with a plan and execute it to near perfection, while I struggled to just keep Shouji away from the weapon."

Shiro exhaled deeply, Ojiro's words sinking in. "He's right," Shiro muttered under his breath. 'I can't let this one defeat define me. There's so much room for growth, and I need to seize every opportunity to improve. Atonement doesn't come easy.'

Together, Shiro and Ojiro made their way back to the observation room. As they stepped inside, they were immediately swarmed by their classmates, who bombarded them with questions and compliments.

"That strategy at the start was incredibly smart!" Yaoyorozu said, her voice filled with admiration. "How did you even predict Todoroki would try to freeze the entire building?"

"That fight between Ojiro and Shouji was awesome!" Satou added enthusiastically, his grin wide. "It got me so pumped up—I've got motivation for days now!"

Kirishima, always energetic, turned to Shiro. "How did you escape Todoroki's ice? I thought for sure you were done for!"

The chatter grew louder until All Might raised his hands, his booming voice cutting through the noise. "Alright, alright, give them some space! We'll now evaluate their performance!"

The room quieted as Shiro, Ojiro, and Shouji lined up in front of All Might. The Number One Hero began, "You all showed remarkable persistence, drive, and determination. That battle had the entire room fired up," he said, his proud smile radiating. 'Including myself,' he thought silently. Clearing his throat, he continued, "Ahem, now for some feedback. Let's start with you, Shiro."

Shiro straightened up, meeting All Might's gaze.

"Facing both Todoroki and Shouji on your own was reckless, hence you sustained severe damage. Now that the adrenaline has worn off, you must be feeling it," All Might said, his tone firm but understanding.

Shiro nodded, acknowledging the truth in All Might's words. He could feel the bruises forming from Shouji's powerful strikes and the lingering sting of Todoroki's freezing attacks.

"You also failed to anticipate that Shouji might have another plan when charging at you. That shows a lack of foresight. You performed exceptionally well today, Young Shiro, but you still have a long way to go," All Might concluded.

Shiro nodded once more. "Understood, sir. Thank you for the feedback," he said earnestly.

"Good. Now then," All Might added, his tone shifting slightly. "I need you to head to Principal Nezu's office to sort out your quirk registration."

'Quirk registration?' Shiro thought, before quickly realizing that he hadn't yet officially registered his abilities. "Ah… Yes, sir. Thank you for the advice," Shiro said, bowing slightly before turning to leave.

As he exited the observation room, Shiro noticed Uraraka watching him from the corner of his eye. He gave her a small wave, but she didn't respond. A flicker of confusion crossed his face. 'That's… weird,' he thought as he continued down the hallway.

Arriving at Principal Nezu's office, Shiro knocked on the door.

"Come in," a voice called from inside.

Pushing the door open, Shiro stepped in to find Principal Nezu seated at his desk, a steaming cup of tea in hand. Beside him sat Midnight, who turned to greet him with a warm smile.

"Hello, Shiro. I've been expecting you," Principal Nezu said, gesturing to the chair across from him. "Please, take a seat."

Shiro walked over and sat down, trying to maintain his composure as Midnight leaned slightly closer.

"Hello there, dear," Midnight said, her tone playful. "How are you feeling? I've heard quite a bit about you—you're quite the exceptional student."

Shiro forced a polite smile. "I'm doing well, thank you," he replied, keeping his gaze straight ahead.

'My story isn't that sort of one. I will not fall for temptation,' Shiro thought.

Principal Nezu, ever observant, took a sip of his tea and asked, "So, Shiro, All Might mentioned that your quirk is unregistered. Care to explain why?"

Shiro sighed. "It's… complicated. I wanted to test myself during the exam without relying on it," he explained.

Nezu nodded thoughtfully, his eyes sharp. "Fascinating. All Might also mentioned that your quirk seems to allow for multiple abilities. Can you elaborate?"

Shiro exhaled deeply. 'This is going to be a long conversation…' he thought as he began explaining.

An hour later, Shiro emerged from the office, rubbing his temples. "I can't believe I actually called it 'Random Permanent Ability Generator,'" he muttered, shaking his head as he made his way toward the front gate. "I should've come up with something cooler…"

Lost in thought, Shiro almost didn't notice Midoriya and Bakugo standing nearby. Their conversation seemed intense, and Shiro was about to walk past them when he caught a snippet of Midoriya's words.

"I got my quirk from someone else!" Midoriya exclaimed, his voice emotional and raw.

Shiro froze in his tracks, his eyes widening in surprise. Midoriya turned, noticing Shiro's presence.

The two locked eyes, and an awkward silence settled over them.

'This… is awkward,' Shiro thought, unsure of what to say.
