Chapter 84: Christmas room Competition Part 1
The air was laced with excitement and a hint of competition as the annual Christmas Room Competition began at U.A. High School. Each class had one week to transform their classroom into a holiday wonderland, and the pressure was on. Class 1-A stood in a huddle, exchanging enthusiastic yet chaotic ideas, their classroom a blank canvas filled with the spirit of the season.
"I think we should go with a winter wonderland theme! Lots of snowflakes and blue lights!" suggested Ochaco, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.
"Yeah? And how do we make it look good?" scoffed Bakugo, arms crossed defiantly. He was clearly not in the mood for sugary decorations. "We need something that stands out! Not just sparkles and cutesy nonsense."
"I agree with Bakugo," Kirishima chimed in, scratching his head. "We need something unique, something the judges will remember."
"Like what? A giant snowman?" Iida interjected, his voice filled with determination. "We need to plan this out scientifically! Structurally sound and—"
"Ugh, too many rules!" yelled Bakugo, interrupting Iida. "We won't win if we're just following some boring guidelines!"
They all began to bicker, their ideas swirling chaotically around the room. Momo suggested creating life-sized Santa figures made of papier-mâché, while Kirishima excitedly proposed making a Christmas tree entirely out of recycled materials. But every time someone pitched an idea, Bakugo shot it down like it was a villain threatening to destroy Christmas.
In the midst of the arguing, Tsuyu, who had been quietly observing, finally spoke up. "What if we created a gingerbread village?" she proposed, a dreamy look in her eyes. "We could use real gingerbread, candy, and icing decorations! It would be delicious and visually appealing!"
Bakugo's ears perked up, and everyone fell silent. "Gingerbread, huh?" he mused, his fierce frown softening slightly. "It has potential. Just make sure it's big and impressive. Not some weak little house."
"More like an entire village!" Tsuyu added, her eyes lighting up. "We could all contribute by making different buildings. Each one could showcase our quirks!"
A lightbulb seemed to go off in Midoriya's mind. "That's perfect! We can work around each person's quirk! I can use my power to help bake the gingerbread, and together we can build a whole village!"
This idea rapidly shifted the energy in the room. Instead of shouting over each other, the students were leaning in, sharing ideas on how they could each contribute to the gingerbread village. Iida immediately began calculating the dimensions needed for the village, ensuring stability and strength in their design.
With the plan set, the team divided the tasks. Bakugo took charge of the candy decorations, insisting on using an absurd amount of explosive candy pieces for effects. Kirishima volunteered to make tough "rock" gingerbread, which they could use as building blocks. Momo offered to create impressive icing techniques, while Uraraka promised to float the heavier sections into place once they were baked.
The week flew by in a whirlwind of flour, sugar, and creativity. The classroom filled with the sweet, spicy aroma of baking gingerbread. Laughter echoed as they sculpted characters to roam their village: gingerbread men that looked like each class member; a tiny Bakugo figurine with a candy explosion accessory; and even a pink-haired Uraraka dressed as a Christmas elf.
As the final day approached, each student put the finishing touches on their individual buildings. They marveled at how beautifully it all came together. The gingerbread village, complete with a candy cane bridge and a gumdrop pathway, stood proudly in the center of their classroom, glowing with tiny string lights.
