Chapter 150: Giving Everyone a Chance, with No Limit on Attempts
[Doctor] Aidel Gold.
Even though decades have passed since his departure from this world, Dialan still cannot let go. It is not just a deep-seated guilt for not being able to venerate him while he was alive, nor is it merely respect for his erudition and concern for humanity.
Dr. Aidel was always a great genius; his talents were enough to erase the secret mark upon him, and all Narrative Civilizations would be willing to embrace him. Yet, he held a unique and noble belief; he would see every person equally, regardless of species, gender, or nationality, always standing by the side of the hardworking masses and the lower class.
Even in his twilight years, he never forgot his ideals. As a person Beyond the Abyss, to assist the Starry Abyss People in resisting foreign invaders, he did not hesitate to break off with his compatriots, engaging in a battle of wits and courage with his kin.
Perhaps his courage and resolute belief finally moved the Source Starry Abyss, or maybe this great mortal who never believed in any bull and snake gods paid an unimaginable price during this process.
Finally, a thousand years after he arrived on Baizhu Star, he devised a method to escape the control of Ether and even established connections with friendly acquaintances from another peculiar world.
The Astra Cervante's
It exists completely independently and is unaffected by the parallel orbital systems of the Starry Abyss and Earth.
If the Earth cosmos and the Starry Abyss cosmos are entangled with one another like two strings, winding around each other, and through continuous battles (oscillations) producing sound, using the energy of these sounds to create a myriad of heavens, parallel planes, and information worlds.
Then, the Astra Cervante's is like a solitary atom, merely needing to oscillate with itself, its exterior absolutely impenetrable, and no foreign information can enter, but conversely, the Astra Cervante's can slowly extend its influence outward.
The Astra Cervante's has not faced invasion from the Destroyer, perhaps for this very reason.
Doctor Aidel was fortunate because the one who connected with him was a friendly Star Realm person, who introduced himself as Wilde Chimaera, nicknamed "Wild Armor," a wandering traveler who loves exploring and gaining knowledge.
For some reasons, Mr. Wilde has always been able to hear voices from different spacetime, cosmos, and planes, only that due to vastly different world laws, they cannot meet in person, but they have established a good friendship.
Aidel explained to Wilde the chaotic and heroic history of Starry Abyss, and lamented that the Narrative Civilizations are all imperialists, completely self-interested, with no vigilance against the imminent Secret Society, even naively believing in expanding their own influence through appeasement and coexistence.
Who knows if it was because... this kind of action of inviting wolves into the house touched Wilde, as he held no favorable view of Narrative Civilizations either.
To aid Doctor Aidel's cause, Wilde took great risks and stealthily sent the doctor a substance named 'Mortality Virus.'
And it was this virus that led to her—the birth of Dialan.
She was never a naturally born Dragon Blood Titan, but rather a product synthesized in a laboratory.
According to the doctor, her mother was a young dragon girl kidnapped by a Wild Mage, used to extract blood for making magic potions. Before she came of age, her life force drained due to excessive blood extraction, and Aidel shot the Wild Mage in the head, liberating her from the dark lair.
Despite Doctor Aidel's best efforts to save her, the mother dragon soon took her own life in despair, and Aidel could only perform her final rites with no other options.
However, he did not bury her like he usually would with patients.
He took the dragon bones and organs to the laboratory, feeding them to the cultivated virus mother body—a piece of Rongjin Titan's flesh where the Mortality Virus had proliferated extensively, waiting for new elements to combine.
The genes of the Dragon and Titan unexpectedly blended well, in Aidel's words: '...just like butter and bread, melted and spread evenly together, filling every gap ingeniously. I see not a single flaw, almost perfect. Even if there were imperfections, they were filled in by the virus, the final combination turning into an orange sphere the size of a walnut.'
Decades later, that sphere became the Prime Minister of Baizhu Star, which is her, Dialan.
Facing Wilde again at this moment, Dialan's mood is somewhat complex; if truly scrutinized, Wilde and Aidel are both her creators.
They are even like fatherly figures to her.
Aidel gave her life and mission, while Wilde imparted her some knowledge from Star Abyss beyond comprehension and showed her guidance.
He always maintained a youthful and vigorous demeanor, speaking like a playboy, cynical.
Until now.
When discussing the 'Eternal Star God,' Wilde's demeanor became unprecedentedly serious.
"Arstala... Is he really that terrifying?"
Due to the habits of Starry Abyss, Dialan instinctively used 'He' as a title toward the nominal 'Stellar Gods.'
"The three great Destroyers invading you are like natural disasters, though insurmountable, the damage can be mitigated."
"Monsters like [Society] count as foreign species invasions but ultimately just aim to seize your world, at most unifying Starry Abyss and Earth."
