Chapter 129: Out for Some Fun
Since Aunt Merston is out, Rednaya is not home, and the True General is still on his way, Leoz didn't want to keep waiting.
Previously, Rednaya gave him a Talent, the Passive Skills of the Raiding Pathway occupation— "Post-Raid Survival," and it was an enhanced version.
Leoz decided to make use of it.
He organized his gear, skillfully applied makeup, picked a few servant clothes to change into, and used coal dust to cover his overly striking appearance, making himself look like a small coal-burning child laborer.
Thanks to Aunt Merston's daily supplements of fish and meat, one year and seven-month-old Leoz had reached a height of 1.4 meters relative to the Layer Abyss proportion. This level, although slightly above average for his Age, was not enough to arouse surprise in others, and Leoz had already thought of his persona as an excuse.
The child's body appeared frail, which could serve as a confusion.
"Given the limited conditions, let's go with this for now."
After tidying up his attire, Leoz leaped out of the window from a high altitude, jumping into the vast night.
......
Four hours later.
Leoz stood atop a mountain north of Destiny Fort, 500 kilometers away, looking down at the tranquil village below.
"Sudley Village at the Edelweiss Kingdom's border, yes, this is the place."
He reminisced briefly; in the previous life's Game Guide, the leveling and Task locations for Border Abyss were sometimes too far from Oxiulia, inside the narrative, or the difficulty curve was not smooth, easily leading to overpowered rogue monsters.
Overall, only here was the most suitable.
"The Edelweiss Kingdom and Oxiulia share the same culture and race, but use excellent ice sea ports and incredibly rich near-sea oil and gas resources to easily live a prosperous life. Fortunately, the relationship between the two kingdoms is still good; originally, Duke of Dawnbreaker Family during his time used medical diplomacy to win over a large number of hearts from surrounding Dominions."
Leoz placed a hand on his waist, recalling the information he had seen.
His mother, Grand Duchess Obyliana, left him a rich human relationship asset. At the time of the incident, neighboring countries remained silent, maintaining enough respect and decorum, even helping to block news from spreading until Aunt Merston arrived, cleansing the kingdom with an iron hand. By relying on the Demigod's prestige, she avoided the situation of the kingdom being hollowed out and cannibalized after an Assassination.
"Since my biological mother had a good relationship and helped preserve my throne, I will repay this kindness without fail. Don't worry, King of Edelweiss, I will act discreetly."
Leoz donned an invisible cloak and slipped into the night.
To be honest, as a prince, Oxiulia's Royal Family was quite shabby, adding to that the royal treasury was plundered after his mother was assassinated; his equipment had to be purchased using Points Tickets by himself.
Fortunately, the Invincible True General had arrived at Border Abyss, and [Mall] transfer system was able to go back online, providing him with essential supplies.
Rednaya had also silently provided assistance; this [Night Owl's Feather] cloak was purchased from Rednaya's [Myriad Realms Dimensional Mall].
As long as combat is not triggered, it will provide the special effect of 'Presence Elimination,' which is very suitable equipment for Leoz, who can't even mobilize Arcane Energy (the White Obelisk is still in Abyssal Azure Star and cannot be transmitted across Starry Abyss).
Speaking of which, although [Mall] does not provide the purchase of attack weapons and Armor, potions and supplies are fully given, especially Rednaya's [Myriad Realms Dimensional Mall], where there are so many good things that it even sells non-lethal [Society] Institutions!
Of course, the Price is not low, basically starting at one hundred thousand Point Tickets; such a terrifying Price, even the Invincible True General finds it hard to bear.
Leoz treaded the night, lining up to enter the village and town as Sudley Village, a border village, also has the nature of a trade hub.
In fact, because of good relations, Sudley Village is open to the people from both sides, visa-free, and quite prosperous, with basically no troubles. Leoz traveled low-profile all the way without anyone noticing, silently entering the village and town interior.
Unlike Destiny Fort, guarded heavily with a curfew at night, Sudley Village at night also had fireworks, the streets bustling with lights, crowded with people.
This village and town, built halfway up the mountain, is quite large in scale; bridges are densely constructed between the buildings and pavilions, extending outward like tree branches. You might think it's a single level; when you look over the railing, it's the top floor of another household.
The night market was noisy, taverns and various stalls for games were almost trampled by tourists, children rioted and played, pairs of men and women strolled together, roaming under the full moonlight atop the central tree courtyard, occasionally bumping their little hands together inadvertently, immediately pulling back like an electric shock, followed by flushed faces, daring not to look at each other.
Perhaps because after this village, it's the snow-covered Edelweiss Kingdom, so Merchants were here buying winter clothing and replenishing their supplies, causing various trades to thrive.
It's quite a nocturnal city's spectacle.
To be able to see such a bustling market among such mountains, Leoz's mood improved significantly, allowing him to face the forthcoming events with a more positive attitude.
He walked to a bakery stall; the shopkeeper was an awakener skilled in Arcane Energy, about forty years old, controlling the flames in the oven, precisely controlling the temperature. When Leoz sat on the stool in front of the stall, a new plate of pastries came out of the oven; the freshness of the honey and the wheat fragrance of the flour organically fused, forming an exciting reaction under the blaze-induced heat, its fragrance making people involuntarily swallow.
When the baking sheet was placed out, the glow from the flames added a touch of warm tones that was masterful, making people revel in appetite.
"How about it, want some, little ghost?" The shopkeeper laughed, breaking off a piece and handing it to Leoz: "Try it, it's free; just help me test the taste."
Leoz did not take the pastry but raised his head, silently gazing at the shopkeeper with his red-tinted contact lenses, saying nothing.
"What's wrong? Don't you like it?" The shopkeeper was not yet aware of the change, smiling: "It's okay, really won't charge you, little ghost."
Leoz continued to stare at him without speaking but raised his left hand, using his index finger, and methodically drew three Hexagrams on the table.
The shopkeeper's face changed instantly; he glanced around, then grabbed Leoz's hand hurriedly and said:
"This isn't the place for talking, follow me!"
Leoz rose leisurely, shaking off his grip, and followed the shopkeeper unhurriedly away from the night market, turning down two streets before arriving at a wall behind a pharmacy.
"Hold on."
The shopkeeper licked his fingers, slid them through the air, searching up and down, and suddenly, as though finding something, clenched it tightly, his fingers straining, veins bulging, slowly pulling outward.
The next moment, space distorted before him, and a corridor appeared out of nowhere.
The shopkeeper waved at him:
"Come in quickly, Soul Ritualist."
