Chapter 1: Prologue
. . . . . What's happening to me? Why is everything so black, so dark? I can't remember what happened to me, only that I was just driving home from work and now I'm here. What happened? What happened? WHAT HAPPENED!?
My head is throbbing, it's like the information that I require is just at the tip of my tongue. And then it finally came to me. I'm dead aren't I? Or at least I should be. On my way home from work I was so tired from lack of sleep. My shift in the warehouse changed from 1st shift to 3rd shift. I had to change shift because first shift was getting overwhelmed with new employees while 3rd shift is lacking proper numbers. So while I wasn't a fan that my shift was changed to a night shift but I didn't had any choice since it was either that or lose my job. So I started working non-stop on 3rd shift as my new job at the factory was building maintenance. I basically fix what breaks in the factory, especially on the lines.
But thanks to the change of a new shift and different job category I was constantly feeling exhaustion. So on my way home I started to doze off behind the steering wheel. I was almost asleep till I heard a loud blaring sound of a semi truck and then it all went black.
So I'm dead? But if I'm dead then where am I? This certainly ain't Heaven. But can this be Hell? I don't think so. But if so then where am I?
[SYSTEM REBOOTING. . .]
What's this? Am I perhaps strapped to some kind of VR? That would explain the Reboot. But if I was then why can't I move my body and remove the VR headset. Also if I'm dead then how would I be strapped to a VR.
[SYSTEM REBOOTING 37%. . .]
[SYSTEM REBOOTING 76%. . .]
[SYSTEM REBOOTING 100%. . .]
[REBOOT COMPLETE]
Suddenly I've gained vision. Normally when you gain your vision usually your eyelids open from bottom to top. But when I gained my vision it was more like how you turn on your TV. At least that's my best description on how I opened my eyes. But those thoughts were immediately pushed down when I actually processed what I'm seeing in front of me. Dead bodies, dead human bodies, dead human bodies that are skeletons that are covered in ice.
"What the Hell is this" I've spoken only to not recognize my own voice. It was too deep and unemotional. Almost like an AI has spoken for me instead of myself. Another thing I've noticed was when I spoke I didn't move my mouth. In fact I can't feel my mouth at all.
I went to move to get out where ever I am and noticed my hands. I started to panic, I don't know if I was even breathing in any oxygen from my hyperventilating but I wasn't paying any attention to that because of what I was seeing. My hands weren't of flesh and bones, but rather of metal. My hands were Grey while my arms were blue. I then look down to my body. It too is made of metal painted in blue and gray. After this I quickly ran to a broken mirror that was shattered against the floor and see my reflection. Upon inspection my eyes layed upon a reflection that broke my reality. My face, I know this character. I know what I am and yet it shouldn't possible. It CAN'T be possible. And yet here I was, standing before me in the Mirror was non-other than Metal Sonic. More specifically Neo Metal Sonic.
"How is this possible"? I asked myself in that deep emotionless voice. Despite how emotionless my voice sounds I am anything but emotionless at the moment.
"If I'm now Metal then where am I? Metal Sonic is an enemy of Sonic the Hedgehog. But this doesn't resemble any scenario in the Sonic franchise". I pondered to myself on what to do but I sadly already know what I have to do. It's just I'm not sure if I'm ready to discover where I am, but I can't stay here forever. So with a heavy heart I walked out of the room. So far from what I can tell I'm in some kind of facility. I only have theories but obviously this body I now inhabit was built here. For what purpose is yet to be seen. I've finally made it to the door as I passed at the exit as I mentally prepared myself for what I might find outside these doors. I pushed the exit door open only to be stunned in silence. It was dark out, the temperature was obviously low from the ice and snow. However what catches my eyes, or I guess my visors now, is more skeletons littering around the area. But most importantly the familiar disassembled drones that lay inactive and destroyed that too littered the ground. I knew where I am, I know what world I reside on, and it scares me. I'm in the world of Murder Drones. I'm so screwed. . .
