Merchant Of Yliaster

Chapter 94: Let Me Check My Notifications

Unique skill created: The Delusion Of The Guider

Maxwell took a relaxed breath, as his mind stopped feeling like it was being stretched. Felix and Blueberry, who were still covered in their collaboration, flowed onto the ground, and Maxwell watched as the bird shot out from the dog's body.

The bird sent him an image of Darve lying down on a confused-looking eel's mouth, before she flew away in haste. So she confused it so it wouldn't hurt Darve? Blueberry's proficiency with mind mana was increasing with leaps and bounds.

Felix, on the other hand, formed his puppy shape and glanced around him, looking a bit disappointed. He even released a soft whimper. Don't worry, we will find you things to eat. Maxwell said, but he couldn't stand the dog's crestfallen state. He brought out one of the resources he harvested from the forest, and gave it to Felix, the dog immediately chomping it down.

He got back to his notifications, as they were far from over.

Unique Skill Created: Delusion Of The Guider

The Delusion Of The Guider**:

The delusion of the guider is the world's reality.

When your delusion is accurate enough, you can actualize it using the unique properties of your soul.

Skill is not limited to any elements or aspects, but actualization needs great efficiency with the mana types used for the creation.

Just say that I need to record the mana types in the Compendium at this point… Maxwell thought, seeing the skill. It seemed like he would need some observation to do in the future if he wanted to create everything he wanted. He had a feeling that every single element would have different methods of creation.

He summoned the other system windows, as he still had a lot to go through.

Title Acquired: Explorer

Title Acquired: Rulebreaker

Title Acquired: The One Who Remembers The Great Phyr

Title Readjusted: Unnatural Mana → Conduit Of Mana

Title Acquired: Deluded Creator

The hell? This was the longest list of changes he ever received from a single fight. He summoned the explanations for the titles.

Explorer:

You explored a new world to a degree that no one from your civilization ever did.

Rulebreaker:

Some rules are absolute, and some are bendable. In your case, you ignore both types, as you do things in your own way.

The One Who Remembers The Great Phyr:

Names are important, and you were given one filled with unfulfilled hope.

Remember.

Conduit Of Mana:

Your mana pool is vast beyond what should be possible at your level, yet you are not satisfied. You still use outside sources, turning yourself into a conduit for them to actualize their effects according to your desires.

Deluded Creator:

Creation is something that belongs to the realm of the gods and madmen. You belong to the second category, as even the world bows down to your delusions.

Two titles just for the Great Phyr? He supposed the system was really interested in the creature. Otherwise, Maxwell doubted that the third title he received would exist. Conduit of mana was interesting, but only expected. His unnatural mana title was starting to get old after all, and Maxwell didn't get any more natural as time passed.

The most important title, though, was the last one, as Maxwell guessed it would affect his class advancement greatly. He summoned the rest of the notifications.

Soul's Dominion Leveled Up 21→44

Etheric Duality Leveled Up 33→50

Elementary Soul Energy Manipulation Leveled Up 59→70

Runic Formations Leveled Up 47→58

Soul Over Matter Leveled Up 3→12

Mind Of The Merchant Leveled Up 30→40

Soul Imbuement Leveled Up 21→24

Parallel Thoughts Leveled Up 81→97

Natural Sciences Leveled Up 32→40

Flying Leveled Up 25→35

Physical Resistance Leveled Up 16→34

The level-ups were simply awesome; some of his skills were finally catching up with the others, soul energy manipulation being the biggest example. Maxwell also noted that some of his skills were missing from the list. This was explained in the next window.

For the first time, Maxwell chose to postpone an advancement, as he had a feeling that advancing these skills by doing something exceptional with them would be better. He even had some ideas for the magic theory and prima sense, but his construct skill was a bit different.

He was a bit surprised that his constructs were not absorbed into the delusion, but when he thought about it, the thing he did with the skill was quite different from usual manipulation. It was literally in the name, as the skill was never about creating real matter, but mana constructs.

Despite being able to create matter now, the versatility of constructs made from mana was completely on a different level. They were more malleable for one, and they could easily be dissipated when he was done with them. They were also not limited, like the delusion into elements he recorded in the compendium.

He summoned the next window. He would deal with these when they were back on their own planet. He didn't even realize that he considered Planet Rokun as home now.

Great Phyr - Reverend Iridescent - Level 57 killed. Experience Rewarded.

Level Up! Stat points distributed. (7x)

The Level Threshold For Skill Selection Is Reached.

Fuck. Maxwell commented intelligently, as whatever damage his body still had was repaired immediately by the energy flowing inside his body. He put the free points in soul too, so that he could get over this faster and in one sequence.

The new skill, too, would need to wait, as the episode with Soul Over Matter was a wake-up call for Maxwell. Leveling up, especially with skills like his, was quite dangerous when you were in the wild. And especially so when you weren't on the same planet.

He got many levels in the last day, so he summoned his status to see the difference.

Today was my birthday? Maxwell looked at his age in surprise, completely forgetting about his ridiculously high level. Judging by his real age not increasing, today was probably the birthday of the original host. So you can't forget your birthday with the system being a thing. He thought.

Other than that, his stats were coming along nicely. He was not sure how many stat points others got, but he was pretty sure that they didn't get as many as he did, considering that even Bob got fewer.

His mana was finally over ten thousand, and his health looked like he was a brute instead of a mage. His physical stats were pretty balanced, but the vitality stat still bugged him a lot. He really hoped that he would not miss out on a milestone by not increasing that stat. He actually wanted to remove it with his trait, but he didn't want to die an unexpected, or expected, sudden death.

His soul attribute was getting ridiculous as he was pushing it even higher at every level by investing his free points in it. 702 equaled 1052 mind and spirituality. From any perspective, that seemed like a ridiculous reality.

It really made him respect the Great Phyr more, as the battle would be one-sided despite Maxwell's broken status if the creature hadn't been fatally weak against blood. What's the deal with this world anyway? Great Phyr seemed completely hopeless of this world's future, and while Maxwell understood that to a degree, as a desert planet was not exactly the ideal living environment for a mushroom, he doubted that with the system, that would be an unfixable problem.

Great Phyr called this planet a forsaken one, though, so that gave him some ideas. He knew many years had passed in this planet without it progressing to the degree it should have, so that too gave him some hints.

Is this a recycling scheme? He thought. It was a cruel method if it was, but it would be a logical one if the system wanted stronger users. These questions, though, didn't matter for now, as he was way too weak at present to do anything concerning them.

He glanced to his left, as the eel Blueberry controlled pierced the wall, falling into the cave with a crash. Maxwell's eyes widened, as this was a terribly calculated move.

Immediately after the eel pierced the wall, the cave system they were in started to shake, as there was nothing stabilizing it now against the weight of the huge desert above it. Blueberry striking the already stressed structure probably didn't help.

While he would be fine, he preferred that Darve wouldn't be crushed by the falling rocks. Go into the sand. He sent to Blueberry, not feeling any need to be angry. The bird, not knowing the situation, was not very surprised, as this was hardly a typical one.

Soon, they were out, and Maxwell watched with his dominion as the cave collapsed like it had never been there. Even the rocks were turning into dust, as the mushrooms permeated them much more intricately than he initially thought. Or the system also took whatever made them special, similar to his carving.

Felix was on his arm, and Maxwell just pushed the sand around the dog with a wave of telekinesis. Since he was so small, it was not a big drain on his mind.

They travelled upwards for a few seconds, Maxwell not bothering to fight anything he saw. In just a couple of hours, he had become too strong for this planet, too, making him a bit helpless about how he would progress further.

At least, he was sure that he would have no problems receiving a noble title. He had no doubt that there were some leveling freaks out there whose whole job was to get high levels, but he was still sure that his level was more than respectable, no matter who he was compared to.

They soon submerged on the sand, Maxwell once more remembering how hot the outside was. He reactivated the runes in his clothes, feeling a sharp drop in temperature once more. Blueberry was inside the eel creature, so she was fine, and Felix seemed like he didn't notice anything different about the temperature.

The eel spat out Darve on command, the man falling down on the sand, and Maxwell put on his mask, carefully monitoring the battered man's mind. The young man waking up now would create a pretty bad situation after all. He doubted that he would, though, as Blueberry had already told him that she had been making the man sleep forcefully for a while now.

"You guys go ahead, I'll come later," he said.

"Chirp!"

"Snack?"

Two simultaneous messages were sent as a response, and Maxwell just sighed. "Yeah, you can come back here to hunt, I suppose. And Felix, think something other than snacks, will you? Let it have some peace." Maxwell said, throwing the traumatized Eel gently to a distance with his telekinesis.

The creature would forever be marked by today, not understanding what happened to it. He watched with interest as Blueberry merged with Felix, turning back to herself and flying away as if she had done nothing out of the ordinary.

And I am the weird one. Maxwell sighed.
