Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Scamming a Blonde Nun with Big Breasts
Andrew's POV
"Thank you very much. Here."
After several misadventures, I finally found the church thanks to a homeless child disguised as a boy for some unknown reason.
It seems the Black Lagoon company is harder to locate than I thought.
I clearly underestimated these professionals.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
"Go away! The Lord is on break right now!" yelled a female voice from inside the church.
"Excuse me for the disturbance, sister, but I need help!!" As I was yelling while knocking on the door to get this crazy woman's attention, the church's large door suddenly opened.
*BAM*
My nose violently hit the door.
It's really unfortunate that my eyes of truth don't allow me to see through objects.
"Are you deaf or...?" a blonde nun pointed a revolver in my direction before suddenly stopping her brutal actions.
"Sorry, I'm new in town, so..." She abruptly leaned toward me, interrupting my words and taking me slightly by surprise.
I could smell alcohol and cigarettes emanating from her religious clothes.
"Indeed, you're not like the trash of Roanapur." Although her words could pass for a joke, her tone was clearly serious.
This woman, who easily identified me as a stranger to the city, is named Eda, or Edith Blackwater.
(Image)
Eda is a nickname or fake name used to hide her complicated origins.
[Damn, he's cute!!!]
[Lately, I've been wanting to find a man, kind of like that idiot Revy.]
[I hope the Mother Superior won't notice that some weapons are missing... I needed more money for my cigarettes and other needs.]
I could only see these truths for now, since the sister considered them the priority secrets at this moment.
"Thanks for your understanding... *sigh*." I couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief after partially resolving the situation.
"So, why did you come to this church?" she asked while putting away her revolver.
"I'm looking for a place where I can get accurate information." I don't need to understand the overall situation, since Rock's quest provides little information.
I really don't want to waste time relying on luck to find this psychopathic twin.
"So, you want to know more about Roanapur's overall situation?" She slightly furrowed her brows for a moment before sighing in resignation and nodding.
"It might be a bit expensive, depending on the levels of information you want about this city," she said while entering.
"Oh, I almost forgot, but you seem exhausted because of this heat wave. If you want, you can stay here for a while~" She displayed a smile that sends chills down your spine.
Great, another crazy one like Leyley.
...
We entered the church, and Sister Eda led me to a confessional to discuss more discreetly.
"What information about Roanapur are you looking for?" she asked directly after settling in casually.
"I want to know everything about the bounty on the two crazy killers in town." I went straight to the point, but the atmosphere in the booth changed immediately.
"How do you know there are two of them?" Eda's pretty face, partially hidden by her sunglasses, tensed slightly as she frowned.
"Are you interrogating me or are you here to provide information?" Despite my disadvantageous position, there was no question of showing any sign of weakness to her.
In this city, any hesitation can be seen as a weak point.
Unfortunately, I had let slip some information out of pure ignorance. It was a mistake, but I couldn't go back or erase it.
I don't yet know the overall situation or the details of information in this city. My only starting point is that Rock passed on some clues in his quest.
This implies that Rock knows the twins' identity, even if this information remains strictly confidential for most.
"Okay, okay, I won't pry into your business," she said after a moment of observing Andrew.
'It would be bad for business if clients thought they might possibly be threatened here,' thought Eda while holding back her frustration.
"So? Are you going to inform me or what?" I said while adjusting in my seat.
"Okay, for now..."
Eda explained to me that their church only knows about the twins' area of appearance, but also about recent victims.
So yes, the twins have already killed this crazy Balalaika's colleagues.
I can throw away the idea of negotiating with her, since this is no longer really a matter that money can solve.
"Here's also the Black Lagoon company's address. All this information will cost you the small sum of 5000 dollars," she said nonchalantly.
"You're not trying to scam me?!" I couldn't help but frown.
"So what?! It's not my fault you didn't ask the price," she replied with a predatory smile on her face.
I remained silent in the face of this... somewhat unexpected situation.
"You can always pay another way, you know~" The suggestive tone in Eda's voice didn't really hide her perverse intentions toward me.
Normally, I would be really tempted and flattered to have a crazy night with this woman.
Unfortunately, given the information obtained, the plot has already evolved enormously. This is really not the time to release my accumulated stress.
"I would like to pay for this transaction, but also..." I bought two fake gold bars from the FMA universe and placed them in front of Eda in a confessional trap door.
[Name: Artificial Gold]
[Category: Item, rank F]
[Description: Gold created by a mischievous State Alchemist. Its peculiarity is that it's impossible to differentiate from ordinary gold, but it reverts to stone after a few weeks.]
[Price: 30 karma for 6 kg]
So, I have 6 gold bars that I plan to use to avoid putting myself in danger in this universe where money is another form of power.
"I want to employ you to protect 'me,'" I said while emphasizing my request for protection.
There was once again silence in the confessional before Eda could express herself again.
"Has anyone ever told you that you're an annoying guy??"
...
Eda's POV
A gold bar is worth between 50,000 and 60,000 dollars on the current market.
If I subtract money laundering fees after the sale, I'll have at minimum 47,000 or 40,000 dollars per bar.
I'm really tempted to accept this deal, but... this guy reeks of trouble.
At first glance, I thought he was just a lost lamb in this hell.
Unfortunately, I was wrong.
Although he has the appearance of a lamb and acted like a beginner, he demonstrated that he knows important things, known to very few people in this damn city.
So, his coming here wasn't just to get information or by pure chance.
This guy wants the church's help for something dangerous.
This also means that his initial request for information within the church was a way to lower my guard to facilitate the real transaction.
'Revy, I think I met another guy similar to Rock.'
I licked my lips before getting up from my seat.
"The church cannot accept your request for protection, but I think I can handle it alone," I said while trying to keep my smile under control.
I currently need money and, I'm sure keeping an eye on this guy could be extremely beneficial.
"If you agree to that, then I would like to keep this transaction... private between us~" As I wanted to take the two gold bars, a hand grabbed my wrist.
"You can only take one, since it's just you in this transaction... right?" Indeed, he is a wolf in rabbit's clothing.
"Yeah~, but I have confidence in my abilities to ask for such an amount of money, so please let go of my hand." Although he's my type of guy, I don't like people being too rough during the first meeting.
"Then, during this week, I'll be under your protection, sister~"
I don't know why, but I feel like I made an unbalanced contract with the devil.
