Mated To The Last Primordial Lycan: A Wolf's Journey To Immortality

Chapter 10: Making things right

"Father!" Markkus was shocked. How could his father do that to him?

They were in his study, so no one was there except the both of them.

"You'll have to choose between that worthless omega and the pack. Not to mention, you know the big aspirations I have for you, son." His father's voice took a calm and collected tone. "The preparations are almost done, don't throw away everything for a woman. It will be a shame, son. Think about your mother."

Markkus lowered his head. Of course, he knew all of that. From the time he awakened his wolf, at the age of sixteen, contrary to the usual age of eighteen, Markkus had been destined for greatness. His early awakening had been a sign of his exceptional strength and power, and his father had seized upon it as an opportunity to mold him into the ultimate Alpha.

And then, when he found his mate, Evelyn, her scent had amplified his abilities, making him even stronger and more powerful…

"Markkus, look at me."

Markkus's thoughts were interrupted by his father's voice. He slowly raised his head, meeting his father's intense gaze. "I expect your answer, son. Will you choose the pack and your future, or will you throw it all away for that omega?"

Markkus sighed. How would he explain to these ignorant people that his mate was the reason he has become the strongest in his generation? He didn't know what's inside her - her scent, having sex with her, they make him the strongest man they know today.

How could he leave her? But if he doesn't explain to his father, he might truly tear them apart.

Markkus took a deep breath, "Father, if you force us apart, you take away the strength of this pack."

The Alpha's eyes widened. "You'll choose her over your pack? Your family?!" he was in disbelief.

"I didn't say that. I mean, she's the reason I'm this strong..."

That evening, Evelyn was working in the kitchen when a servant gave her a letter. It was written in Markkus's handwriting.

He wanted to see her in their secret meeting spot at midnight. Evelyn's heart skipped a beat as she read the note.

They already saw each other that morning, but she didn't ask questions. Markkus only returned to the pack this time because of the mating ceremony, which would be taking place tomorrow. After that, he'd return to the Academy.

Evelyn knew that whenever he was in the pack, Markkus loved to spend the nights with her, making love until the next morning. It was an everyday thing until he leaves.

Meanwhile, after having a talk with his father, a glint flashed in the Alpha's eyes. How could he believe that having sex with someone, let alone, a worthless omega, could make a man stronger? The Alpha felt his son was making excuses for his mate, but didn't voice his dissatisfaction and disappointment.

In his mind, he concluded that he would find a way to send that omega out of the pack, away from his son, once he returned to the pack.

If not that she had shown an outrageous potential in her early years, by awakening her wolf at the age of 5, and making him believe that she could be useful, he wouldn't have left her alone until now.

But this time, things have changed. Miranda is in the picture now, and the plan they have must not be thwarted.

The Alpha leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers together, pretending to be on board with his son. "So, what are your plans?"

"I have everything under control. At the mating ritual, I'll choose my Luna."

The Alpha scrutinized his son's face for a long time. Seeing he was serious about not disappointing him in the mating ceremony, he finally relaxed a little. "Very well."

"Thank you, Father." With that, Markkus turned and left the study.

After leaving his father's quarters, he went to look for Miranda. She was in her room, crying. Her maids knelt before her, crying with her, while trying to console her.

Entering the room after a knock, Markkus sent the maids away. As the maids scurried out of the room, Markkus approached Miranda, his expression soft with concern. "Miranda, what's wrong?"

Miranda's sobs intensified, and she buried her face in her hands, her body shaking with grief. Markkus wrapped his arms around her, holding her close as he tried to comfort her. "What happened?"

"You're asking? Don't you know what you did, Markkus?" she lifted her head to stare at him. Her face was filled with tears. She looked broken. "I know it was my fault. I shouldn't have seduced you, but we were both drugged, Markkus. We had a passionate night, but you left me like some cheap slut, without even a second glance. And now, you're asking me what's wrong?" she hiccuped, forcefully wiping her tears.

Markkus sighed softly, "I was wrong. I'm sorry. Please, don't cry."

She shook her head, "What am I going to do now? How am I supposed to face your mate now? I'm sure she already knew we had sex. She must have felt it." She sniffed, her tears dripping harder despite her attempt to stop them.

"You abandoned me for her, without even seeing my injuries. It's humiliating, Markkus. You're humiliating me," Miranda's voice cracked as she spoke, her words laced with pain and betrayal.

Markkus looked remorseful. "I didn't mean to hurt you," he wiped her tears with his fingers. "I would never knowingly hurt you, Miranda. You know this."

"I don't." She shook her head, "I don't know you anymore, Markkus. What would happen to me now? What– "

Before she could finish her words, Markkus's lips were on hers, gentle and apologetic. He kissed her softly, trying to convey his regret and sorrow. But as he pulled back, he saw the confusion in Miranda's eyes.

"Does that answer your question?" He asked.

"Wh– what are you doing?" Miranda's voice trembled as she spoke, as her eyes widened with shock.

"Making things right." He held her hands, "I'll take responsibility for what I did. I'll make you my Luna..."
