Masterful Miracle Doctor

Chapter 793: The Final Lesson

By Monday, Lin Jie walked into the small auditorium of the Medical College at 8:55, just as he used to.

With the microphone properly worn, he looked up and noticed that there were slightly fewer students in attendance today.

Out of the more than five hundred seats in the small auditorium, there were still a few dozen empty seats.

Lin Jie looked at the two middle rows at the front; his fourteen students were all prepared and ready without exception.

He gently blew into the microphone, tested the sound, and began, "Now, let's start the class."

"Continuing from the last lesson, this class will still cover the pancreas..."

Qi Yuanchen rushed into the hallway and heard that familiar voice faintly coming through the door and window.

Still a step too late!

Feeling frustrated, he quickly walked several more steps to the back door of the small auditorium.

Cautiously pushing the door open, Qi Yuanchen was delighted to find that there were still seats available in the back. He quickly chose a relatively good spot and sat down.

Taking out a notebook and pen from his bag, Qi Yuanchen prepared to take notes. Looking forward, he saw Lin Jie standing at the podium, pacing leisurely while speaking eloquently.

Hmm, captured a somewhat unfamiliar technical term.

Qi Yuanchen quickly wrote down this term in his notebook and noted the current time, 9:05.

The content Lin Jie taught each class was systematic and comprehensive, yet there were too many knowledge points to absorb instantly.

If you try to remember everything, in less than half an hour, you'd surely feel dizzy and confused.

However, having heard Lin Jie's classes for quite some time, everyone has compiled an effective method of attending his lectures.

And that is to listen for keywords!

Whenever you hear a keyword or piece of information that you don't quite understand, find yourself curious about, or are very interested in, immediately write down a keyword as a marker along with the timing.

After class, you can download the complete recording of Lin Jie's lectures from the study group for repeated listening and research.

Because everyone's level of medical knowledge and weak points are different, the keywords everyone notes down also vary.

But without exception, using this method of attending and learning, many have gained a lot, effectively filling gaps in their knowledge and correcting many misconceptions.

Writing down another keyword, Qi Yuanchen watched Lin Jie walk back and forth, filtering Lin Jie's voice without seeking deep understanding.

He suddenly noticed that today, Mr. Lin was dressed very spiffily.

The well-fitting dark casual suit, paired with a high-necked thin sweater, and his stunningly handsome appearance.

If you add the vast halo of his medical knowledge, Qi Yuanchen thought that Mr. Lin could outshine any handsome male film star.

"Such an outstanding Mr. Lin should be the idol of every young person!"

Reflecting inwardly, Qi Yuanchen tried hard to shift his attention from Lin Jie's attire back to his lecture content.

There had been someone who once delved into Lin Jie's clothing.

Dior, Giorgio Armani, Givenchy, Egner, all top-tier global fashion brands.

Mansion, luxury cars, beautiful women, money, career, and fame, Lin Jie can be said to have it all.

Qi Yuanchen couldn't help but fantasize—if he achieved the same success as Mr. Lin and possessed everything he has now, could he, like Mr. Lin, still calmly teach so many students?

The mere thought of it made Qi Yuanchen feel like he couldn't.

Perhaps, that's the reason why Mr. Lin can be so successful.

Qi Yuanchen forced himself to remove any distracting thoughts and focused entirely on Lin Jie's lecture content...

At 10:30, there was a break in the class.

Qi Yuanchen packed up his things and walked to the front row, placing his belongings on the empty seat to the right of his friend Zhuo Jiahe.

Zhuo Jiahe smiled and said, "Qi Yuanchen, to keep this seat for you, I had to turn down two pretty junior students."

"What happened this time? You've never been late before."

"Don't even mention it!"

Qi Yuanchen rubbed his face vigorously and, frustrated, said, "A problem arose with a piece of experimental data for my thesis."

"I've been busy reobtaining this data for the past couple of days, staying up until 3 a.m. last night."

"I lay down to sleep, and the next thing I knew, I overslept."

"Do you have anything to eat? I haven't had breakfast!"

Zhuo Jiahe took out a piece of dark chocolate and a box of milk from his backpack and handed them over, saying, "Make do with these for now. Come noon, I'll treat you to a big meal."

Qi Yuanchen inserted a straw and took a big sip of the milk, walking out of the small auditorium with Zhuo Jiahe.

"What made you think of buying me lunch? Did your advisor give you some project pay?"

Zhuo Jiahe shook his head dismissively and said, "A few thousand yuan, he's bold enough to give, but I'm embarrassed to take!"

Seeing Song Licheng and others walking ahead, he enviously said, "But Mr. Lin is generous."

"From what I know, Song Licheng has already received tens of thousands in project pay and bonuses from Lin Jie."

Qi Yuanchen sighed and said, "That's enviable. After all, he's also Professor Chen Shi's student."

"Those guys have hit the jackpot, being in the right place at the right time."

He resignedly said, "Luck is just unspeakable. Had I known, I'd have applied to be Professor Chen's PhD student too."

But Zhuo Jiahe wasn't convinced and huffed, "Don't lose heart, we still have a chance."

"Once Anlin Hospital opens, we'll be starting from the same point as them."

"As long as you show enough value and strength, Teacher Lin will guide us without reservation. He's not the type to play favorites."

Qi Yuanchen nodded and said happily, "I also look forward to the day I can work under Teacher Lin. I hope it comes soon."

He bumped Zhuo Jiahe with his shoulder again and asked, "You still haven't told me why you're treating me to lunch?"

Zhuo Jiahe glanced at him with disdain and said, "Freeloading and yet you're still asking why."

He leaned closer to Qi Yuanchen and whispered, "According to the university regulations, we can defend our doctoral dissertation sometime between March and June next year."

"Generally, after passing the dissertation defense, we can start working at our employment units, just waiting to return for a graduation ceremony."

"As far as I know, according to the construction and renovation schedule, Anlin Hospital will not be operational until mid-to-late June next year."

"I got reliable news..."

Zhuo Jiahe lowered his voice again and said, "Anlin Hospital plans to hold a training camp between April and June next year."

"The hospital aims to gather us hired graduates and newly appointed doctors as much as possible."

"Led by Teacher Lin, with renowned doctors from around the world invited by him, we will undergo intensive training."

"Qi Yuanchen, don't say I didn't warn you."

"It's best to finish your graduation thesis early and pass the defense. This training opportunity is not to be missed."

Qi Yuanchen grabbed Zhuo Jiahe's arm and asked for confirmation, "Is this true or not?"

Zhuo Jiahe snorted discontentedly, "Would I lie to you about something like this?"

Qi Yuanchen lowered his head in thought for a moment and decided, "This Chinese New Year, I'll go back on the 29th and return by the 3rd."

"I'll strive to complete the dissertation defense by early March..."

Just then, someone else's words reached Qi Yuanchen's ears.

"Hey, did you know? Teacher Lin's student said today's class is the last one."

Qi Yuanchen and Zhuo Jiahe both stopped in their tracks, hearing more and more such discussions.

Zhuo Jiahe pondered for a moment and said in surprise, "Hmm, thinking back about Teacher Lin's lectures, indeed, counting today's class, all foundational human medical knowledge is covered."

Qi Yuanchen nodded as well, earnestly saying, "It's very likely this is indeed the last class of the course."

Thinking that it's the last class, Qi Yuanchen suddenly felt a sense of loss...

Lin Jie returned to the classroom once more only to find that the small auditorium was much more crowded.

Not only were all the seats filled, but even the aisles had students seated on the floor.

He didn't mind and was about to start the lecture.

Suddenly, someone stood up and asked loudly, "Teacher Lin, when this class ends, does it mean the course is concluded as well?"

Lin Jie nodded and said, "Yes."

"Once today's class concludes, the course content is considered complete."

"By the way, I have some news to share. Based on the course materials, the last five volumes of the medical knowledge series will be published and available for purchase in early January next year. The English version will be simultaneously published."

"Interested students can purchase them for reading."

"Alright, let's continue with the class now..."

As time went on, Lin Jie noticed more students continuously entering from the back or front doors, sitting on the floor in the aisles, or standing at the back of the small auditorium.

When the small auditorium could no longer hold more people, many students stood by the door...

The number of students kept increasing, yet the small auditorium remained quite silent, with only Lin Jie's voice echoing through it...

Minute by minute, time passed, and Lin Jie finally stopped lecturing.

He checked the time; it was 11:49.

The students in the small auditorium began to stand one by one, crowding together and clearing out enough space for those standing outside the door to come in.

A few minutes later, Lin Jie saw a sea of heads in front of him, about a thousand or two.

Seeing them gathered so uniformly, Lin Jie's heart was involuntarily touched by a sense of emotion.

"Thank you all for coming. To be honest, I'm quite surprised that such a highly tedious and dull course has received your affection and welcome."

"Thank you!"

"No, it should be us thanking Teacher Lin!"

"Thank you, Teacher Lin!"

"Thank you, Teacher Lin..."

The gratitude grew increasingly synchronized and resounding, echoing far beyond...

Outside the small auditorium, Cheng Xingguang and Yuan Guangxi stood side by side, quietly listening to the rolling waves of "Thank you" coming their way.

"Whether a teacher is truly dedicated or not, students can genuinely feel it."

A moved Cheng Xingguang sighed, "Many teachers nowadays..."

"Sigh, it's hard to say!"

Yuan Guangxi was silent for a moment before saying helplessly, "It's a complicated social issue. It's difficult for schools to solve alone."

He changed the topic and asked, "Dean Cheng, do you know why Expert Lin called us over?"

Cheng Xingguang shook his head, saying, "I don't know."

"But he mentioned it quite seriously, so it clearly isn't a minor issue."
