Master of Strange Dao

Chapter 160 End Period Minor Calamities Quick Pass, Small Pitfall Leads to a Big Fall (10k)_6

According to the rules, the An History Book should send the counterpart to a specific page.

However, ever since being scolded multiple times by Yu Ziqing, the An History Book was no longer so rigid.

Of course, the most important thing was that over these days, Yu Ziqing had swiftly dealt with a total of ninety-nine disasters.

Even if they were all minor disasters of the Dingmao Era, they were all ones Yu Ziqing could handle.

Thus, the An History Book knew on whom it should rely.

So far, all the resolved disasters recorded in the An History Book were accomplished entirely by Yu Ziqing.

Some small rules didn't really matter, as Yu Ziqing had the greatest authority and could provide a legitimate explanation.

The An History Book turned its pages, arriving at a particular one.

"In the year 2354 of the Dingmao Era, Dingyou City,

the Divine Dynasty's 100,000-strong army laid siege to the city, including 3,000 elite troops from the White Feather Army and three Ninth Tier levels.

The Prefectural Governor of Dingyou City, Si Lan, fought to the death, refusing to retreat, expending the last person, exhausting Qi-Blood, True Yuan, and lifespan to draw upon the power of the Divine Dynasty to seal them all."

Yu Ziqing read the contents recorded above.

This was a disaster Yu Ziqing had slated for resolution during the later period.

Upon seeing this as a disaster, Yu Ziqing was somewhat surprised.

However, thinking about it from Dadui's perspective, it indeed seemed like a disaster.

Yet looking back, there really wasn't a situation as overwhelming as this before.

The year 2354 of the Dingmao Era was already close to the end of the An History Book.

He didn't know why the visitors wanted to go to this sealing.

He just noted it for now and decided to return to it later.

He needed to first rescue Yang.

Turning to that glowing page, Yu Ziqing reached out, and his figure vanished from where he was.

Upon opening his eyes, he found himself within the sealing.

In the year 1800 of the Jiazi Era, Jiazi City.

Here, the autumn sky was clear and refreshing. Yu Ziqing was in the wilderness, feeling no Ninth Tier aura nor the presence of Yang.

It was apparent the An History Book was quite considerate in finding a safe place for him to land.

The records in the An History Book couldn't be entirely trusted.

For example, Yu Ziqing had no idea how Jiazi City's Prefectural Governor Kang Xiangyu managed to invite myriad Devils into his body.

Even in the present era, Yu Ziqing didn't know of a method other than the almsgiving of hungry ghosts that could induce or expel Devil Thoughts and Heart Demons from a host's body.

This method surely wasn't one to be commonly used, or perhaps it was unfeasible for others to use.

Otherwise, the An History Book wouldn't have so many records of devils wreaking havoc.

Yu Ziqing identified his direction, with Jiazi City to the true north of Dadui; he should now be on Jiazi City's western side.

Without any surprises, the visitor ahead should have come from Jiazi City's eastern side.

He needed to enter Jiazi City first.

Before that, he would try contacting Yang.

The An History Book stated only one person entered, so Yang must have been brought in through the sealing in the Mountain and River Array Map.

Entering the Seventh Floor ring, he found Yang already waiting inside.

"Time is short; let's cut the small talk.

I was trapped in the Mountain and River Array Map and brought in by him.

It was Dean Wu of the Langya Institute who brought me here, and he was alone.

If you come in, do not face him, as he will certainly recognize you.

Also, do not act, as you will surely die.

Do not risk rescuing me."

"You didn't enter the sealing he desired. I made a tiny tweak."

"Hmm?" Yang was slightly taken aback, exclaiming, "Good fellow."

"I will be waiting near the east gate of Jiazi City, in the first inn you can see after entering the city."

"He wants to release me."

Yang hurriedly departed.

Yu Ziqing also left the Seventh Floor ring, opened his eyes, gazed at the distant Jiazi City, which was still tranquil.

He traveled to the western gate of Jiazi City and glanced at the mirror on the city gate's passage as he entered.

With a thought, he summoned a trace of Black Sky Devil's aura.

Yet the mirror remained motionless.

Yu Ziqing knew that at this time, the Magical Treasure for reflecting devils was indeed having issues.

Previously within the sealing, when Yu Ziqing entered the city, he always transformed the Five Little Ones into Secret Technique forms to evade inspection.

Their devil forms would likely have been reflected.

Inside the city, everything was calm; the residents lived peacefully, and the cultivators coexisted harmoniously with ordinary people.

Cultivators sat at roadside stalls, sharing tables with mortals, and no one thought it strange.

Yu Ziqing traveled across Jiazi City to the eastern side, found an inn near the east gate with a view, and settled in.

His accent in the old Dadui language matched the locals seamlessly, making integration simple.

After waiting for half a day, Yu Ziqing finally saw Dean Wu walking into the city from the third floor's window.

Yang was tethered in his hand by a rope.

He watched as Dean Wu struggled to communicate with the locals using broken ancient Dadui language, even attracting attention from the officials.

If not for Dean Wu's leaking Ninth Tier aura, he might have been taken away.

Soon, Dean Wu was led to the very inn he occupied.

Yu Ziqing maintained a calm expression and continued conversing in the local language with a native sitting opposite.

Officials couldn't possibly bring an unidentified Ninth Tier cultivator to rest within an official facility.

During this early Dadui era, cultivators were not given special treatment; there were no exclusive places for hosting powerful individuals.

Everyone was treated equally, mortals and mighty ones both stayed at inns, and no one thought it was improper.

Yu Ziqing didn't show his face, unafraid of being detected by Dean Wu at such close range.

Though recognition would be possible in person, the aura wouldn't be.

He waited patiently, opportunities were bound to arise.

Inside the inn's room, Dean Wu released the rope, his expression growing increasingly sullen.

"Was it your doing?"

"I can swear to the heavens it has nothing to do with me."

Hearing this, Dean Wu didn't relent, staring intently at Yang.

Yang nonchalantly said.

"I, Yang, swear to the heavens: if I meddled to bring us here, may I be struck by the Five Thunders Bombarding and die a horrible death!"

After the oath, runes appeared, embedding into Yang's forehead, then swiftly dissipating without a trace of change.

Seeing this, Dean Wu's face grew dark, almost to the point of dripping black water.

"I once told you, this is beyond our manipulation; if you come in and don't resolve the disaster, you'll never leave.

I believe you must know these things.

Now, it's best if you think about what this disaster is.

Otherwise, we will both be trapped here to die."

After speaking, Yang lay down, closed his eyes, and rested quietly.

Dean Wu said nothing, opened the door, and left.

He needed to wander around the city first, to see what was happening.

Yang began reconnecting with Yu Ziqing.

The two sat on the first floor of the Seventh Floor ring.

"Has he lowered his guard?"

"He left; he's no longer watching me. He knows I can't run."

"As long as you're safe for now. Does he have any vicious method to control you?"

"No."

Yu Ziqing let out a sigh of relief.

Safety was paramount, meaning he could take Yang away anytime.

"I initially planned to take you away right after finding you, but now I've changed my mind, not just trapping him here; I intend to kill him."
