Master of Strange Dao

Chapter 103 Silver Lake Forbidden Land, Chased by Tomb Ghost (8k)_5

He truly didn't know what he still owed.

He didn't dare stop, either; stopping would most likely get him beaten to death, and nobody dared to help him. He couldn't think of a way to deal with that Tomb Ghost on his own.

He couldn't even describe how stifled he felt.

Flying all the way to the Abyssal Rift nearby, he saw the rift and gritted his teeth, rushing directly into the Abyss.

No one dared to help outside, but inside the Abyss, there were many foolish Evil beings.

Finding some of these Evils to help hold off the Tomb Ghost for a while might also work.

If he didn't get some rest, this repeated cycle of flying escape, taking drugs, and flying escape would surely kill him from exhaustion; his spirit was about to collapse.

Rushing down the rift, he continuously dove deeper, and it wasn't long before he sensed a brightness up ahead.

Bursting through the brightness, he realized he had emerged from a rift.

Outside, the atmosphere was filled with yin qi, the sky was gloomy, and the earth was desolate.

On the cliffs on both sides of the rift, the hungry ghosts opened their eyes.

Those hungry ghosts glanced at him and then returned to their business, lying there digesting.

The young man hovered in mid-air, somewhat stunned, looking around.

As far as his eyes could see, there were only hungry ghosts and not a single Evil around. The big-bellied hungry ghosts couldn't be bothered with him, treating him as if he didn't exist.

Just as he was about to continue flying to deeper areas, a hungry ghost with a slightly smaller belly crawled out of a burrow.

That hungry ghost waved at him.

"Hey, you there, yes, I'm talking to you. You're the only one here, come over."

"Huh..." The young man was a bit shocked. When did hungry ghosts become so smart that they could talk?

The information he'd gotten made it seem like hungry ghosts were low-level ghosts, lacking in spiritual wisdom.

But since a hungry ghost was willing to talk to him, he immediately descended and politely said,

"Hey... Hungry Ghost Bro, looking for me?"

"You have a certain scent on you, similar to a place we visited before, a drop of sweet rain to help you manifest Devil Thought."

"What?"

"Do you know the Almsgiving Ceremony? How about the Almsgiving Spell and Seal? If not, another drop of sweet rain."

"What sweet rain?" He was exploring the Grotto Heaven every day, probing the Forbidden Lands, and here he was, being chased for 80,000 miles like a dead dog by the Tomb Ghost. How could he know the world changed so fast?

Hearing this, the hungry ghost was somewhat disappointed. Not even knowing about sweet rain, but daring to rush straight into the Abyss, seemed yet another fool.

The young man, pondering, pointed to himself.

"You're saying I have Devil Thought on me? What other scent?"

"Yeah, the Death Qi of the Mausoleum, and the smell of Devil Thought, I'm very familiar with it." The hungry ghost licked its lips; how could it not be, it was all it ate.

The young man's mind was racing. He had not noticed anything on himself, yet the Tomb Ghost kept pursuing him. Didn't the Devil Thought match that condition?

"Can I owe it to you first? Or, can I give you other treasures instead?"

"That's not possible, Almsgiving to remove Devil Thought requires sweet rain."

While they were still bargaining, the Tomb Ghost had floated up from below the rift, still wearing that deeply resentful face.

The young man turned pale.

"Bro, you're still chasing me? Haven't you had enough? What did I take, tell me, I really don't know."

The Tomb Ghost wailed incoherently, which the young man couldn't understand at all.

It was the nearby hungry ghost that translated.

"He said you stole the Devil Thought from there and demand you return it. Otherwise, one of you must die."

"He wants Devil Thought, too? Is he crazy?"

The Tomb Ghost continued its incoherent wailing.

"He said the Devil Thought is also a property of the Mausoleum, and the Death Qi clinging to you is also. You need to return them," the hungry ghost translated kindly.

"How can I give it to him? I don't even know. If I had that ability, why would I explore Grotto Heavens? All I need to do is wait for people to come and make money."

"One drop of sweet rain, no deceit, we'll help you expel it." The hungry ghost crossed its arms, watching the show.

"Where would I get sweet rain?"

"Then we can't help either; it's the rules set by heaven, and we can't change it."

The young man gritted his teeth, circled around, and dashed back into the rift.

Bursting out from the Abyssal Rift again.

Another half-day of frenzied running.

Feeling slightly safer, he took out the Seventh Floor ring and left a message on the forum wall.

"Urgently need a drop of sweet rain, can exchange for other treasures."

An hour later, as night fell, No.5, who usually came around to check, discovered No.4's message.

He thought for a bit but didn't reply to No.4. Instead, he sent a private message to No.7.

"No.4 seems to be in trouble, urgently needs a drop of sweet rain."

When Yu Ziqing found this message, a day had already passed.

He was a bit puzzled; wasn't No.4 being chased by the Tomb Ghost? What would he need sweet rain for?

Just as the contact was established, No.4 came rushing up from downstairs as if mad.

"Bro, master, you have sweet rain, right?"

"Ah, yes, do you need a drop? What happened?"

"What else could it be? That Tomb Ghost is still chasing me! Do you know why he's after me? Just because in the Grotto Heaven, a wisp of Devil Thought got into me, he's chased me for 80,000 miles just to make me hand it over!"

No.4 was beside himself with fury, feeling utterly broken.
