MARVEL'S MONSTER HUNTER WORLD

Chapter 7: THE S.H.I.E.L.D INVESTIGATION

At the Same Time, in the S.H.I.E.L.D. Strategic Command Room

"Hey, Clint! Do you know what's going on? Why'd they call us back so suddenly?" Natasha Romanoff, her burgundy hair catching the dim light, turned to her colleague.

Clint Barton leaned back in his chair with a shrug. "Beats me—"

"Alright, everyone, settle down." Nick Fury's commanding voice cut through the room. He strode to the center, his gaze sweeping over the agents. "Coulson, you're up."

Phil Coulson nodded and stepped to the projector. The screen lit up, revealing a photo of a young man with an undeniably charming, sunny demeanor.

"This," Coulson began, "is Watson Diarant. Male, 21 years old. High school graduate, no college, no criminal record, no prior infractions. His parents were ordinary folks who tragically died in a car accident when Watson was five. He's been living with his uncle, Belen Rocco, ever since. Together, they ran an auto repair shop called 'Roaring House.'"

"I like the name," Clint chimed in with a grin.

"Agent Barton, focus," Fury snapped.

"Sorry, sir."

Coulson continued, now displaying photos of two middle-aged men. "This is Belen Rocco and Kane Polk. Both have impressive military backgrounds.

"Belen Rocco, 49, joined the Delta Force in 1985. By 1987, he was part of Squadron 1 and Squadron 8. He was wounded during a mission in Africa in 1990 but earned two commendations for third-class merit.

"Kane Polk, 48, joined Delta in 1986 and followed a similar trajectory. He was also part of Squadron 8 and earned third-class recognition before being injured on the same mission as Rocco. Both retired shortly after and opened two businesses: a gun shop called 'Roman Romance' and the auto repair shop 'Roaring House.' Both are located at the border of Hell's Kitchen and Manhattan."

Nick Fury interjected, his tone clipped. "Coulson, get to the point."

Coulson nodded. "Five days ago, Belen Rocco and his nephew Watson Diarant were in a car accident. Rocco didn't survive. Watson was discharged from the hospital four days later.

"Last night, we monitored a gang skirmish in the same area. We picked up a low-level energy signature, and when we focused our surveillance, we found... these."

A series of images flashed on the screen: a massive creature battling gang members, devouring others, and another image of what seemed to be Watson drinking an unknown substance before transforming.

The agents exchanged uneasy glances, their eyes locked on the monstrous form in the photos.

Fury took the floor, his voice commanding everyone's attention. "According to our tech department, the two creatures in these images share almost identical physical characteristics. My suspicion? We're looking at a new biological weapon. Worse, it might be in the early stages of mass production.

"Diarant's file is worthless for what we're dealing with here. But whatever that boy drank to trigger his transformation—it has medical implications we can't ignore." Fury paused, letting the weight of his words sink in.

"I want all tasks reprioritized. This 'monster boy' is your new focus. I want his true identity, his connections, and every detail of whatever is happening in Hell's Kitchen. Is that clear?"

"Yes, sir!" the agents chorus

The Next Morning: 8 A.M.

"Ahhh, nothing beats a good night's sleep!" Watson Diarant groaned happily, stretching with a satisfying pop of his joints. Sunlight poured through the curtains as he yawned and surveyed his modest bedroom.

His eyes drifted to the massive, clawed gashes in the floorboards downstairs. "Well, that's gonna be a pain to explain to anyone," he muttered, running a hand through his messy hair.

After a quick shake of his head to clear his thoughts, he grinned. "Alright! No point dwelling on the past. Time to tackle the day!"

Watson moved through his morning routine with gusto—brushing his teeth, washing his face, and hopping into a quick, cold shower. By the time he was done, his muscles practically gleamed in the morning light.

"Now then," he said to no one in particular, cracking his knuckles. "System, let's do this. Time for my daily draw!"

Ding!

Please select your draw type:

"General Equipment," Watson replied, his voice filled with excitement.

Ding! General Equipment draw initiated!

The familiar holographic wheel appeared before him, spinning with countless options. Weapons, armor, and gadgets glinted as the wheel spun faster and faster.

"C'mon, give me something good!" Watson whispered, watching intently.

The wheel slowed, and his eyes widened as the pointer landed on something unique: Flying Thunder Dragon Tooth 1 and Giant Blade Sword 1. Beside them, an array of lower-tier weapons and suits flickered.

"System," Watson muttered, narrowing his eyes, "why are the top-tier R4 weapons so rare?"

Ding! Host must upgrade to unlock higher-tier options. Progress quickly to access advanced features.

Watson grinned. "Challenge accepted."
