Chapter 242: Chapter 240: Helping Emma
Apparently, a few months ago, Susan learned she could create force fields made of psionic energy, the same energy used by telepaths like Jean, Professor X, Emma, and Psylocke; until I met Psylocke, I never realized psionic energy could be so versatile as everyone who used it was a telepath, so I figured you could only read minds and move things with it. Though, I suppose since Psylocke could create a whip purely from psionic energy, why couldn't Susan make force fields?
"Huh, well, that's pretty awesome; though it doesn't seem that strong now, I'm sure she'll become a force to be reckoned with with enough practice." Remarked Tut with a faint smile as he glanced at Johnny, who was sitting beside Susan and rubbing his side in pain while shifting his focus to the latter.
"She's already a force to be reckoned with, Pharaoh." Stated Reed lightly as he suddenly exited the elevator, glancing at Tut while holding a tablet before approaching him.
Raising an eyebrow, I glanced at Reed, who I had half a mind to slap as this was the first time I'd seen him today despite him being the one who asked me to help move their equipment to this building from California. As he walked past me to check on Susan, I lit the top of his hat on fire with my heat vision, causing Johnny to smirk in amusement.
"She is?" Asked Tut curiously as he glanced at Reed, who finished scanning Susan with his tablet before nodding, only to furrow his brows.
"What's that burning smell?" Asked Reed in slight confusion as he glanced at his tablet before looking at the smirking Johnny, who scoffed before raising his arms.
"What? I didn't do anything? Why do you always look at me when something is on fire?" Remarked Johnny in annoyance with a scoff as he eyed Reed, who narrowed his with a frown.
"I never said anything was on fire. There are plenty of chemical compounds that can mimic the scent of something burning; I use several machines that are more than capable of doing so." Stated Reed with a deep frown as he eyed Johnny, who winced before awkwardly coughing and averting his eyes to Tut.
"Pharaoh?" "Yep, what's up?" Remarked Reed and Tut, respectively, as the former silently eyed him while the latter raised an eyebrow, pretending to ignore the fire atop his hat.
"Uh, Reed, your hat, it's on fire." Said Ben lightly as he approached the four while pointing at Reed's hat, causing him to toss it on the ground, only for Tut to freeze it.
"Woah, thanks, Ben, that could've been bad; I would've hated if the person who was nowhere to help was to lose his hair in a fire." Said Tut sarcastically as he sighed in relief and patted Reed's shoulder while giving Ben a thumbs up.
"Haa, I apologize, but I was sending out invites for the wedding; now that we've successfully acquired this building, I saw no reason to prolong it." Said Reed softly as he glanced at Tut before shifting his gaze to Susan, who opened her eyes and looked at him lovingly.
Clicking my tongue, I retracted my hand from Reed's shoulder; I had half a mind to state the truth, but seeing how Susan was looking at him, I refrained from doing so; it would be my way to apologize for accidentally hurting her.
'Tsk, as if sending invites via email takes multiple hours.' Thought Tut with an irritated expression as he eyed Reed, who sat beside Susan, prompting her to lean into his embrace.
"Tsk, so when's the wedding?" Asked Tut lightly as he plopped onto an empty chair while eyeing Reed and Susan, the former paying more attention to his tablet than to his fiancè.
"In two weeks, we'll hold the wedding atop this building. Of course, you and Hana are also invited, so make sure you two are there." Replied Susan with a reinvigorated smile as she looked at Tut while holding Reed's arm, prompting him to lightly nod.
"Heh, Reed, it's your favorite genius, Stark." Said Johnny with a grin as he turned the TV on, which showed Stark participating in a Formula One race, causing Reed to raise his head with an irritated expression.
"Tsk, I can respect his father, Howard Stark, but I dislike that manchild." Remarked Reed with an annoyed look as he and everyone else watched Stark race around the circuit.
"But you don't deny his genius?" Asked Johnny with a smirk, causing Reed to remain silent as he shifted his focus back to his tablet.
While watching Stark racing, suddenly, a dude wearing some weird suit with lightning whips appeared on the track, and to our surprise, he sliced every car that neared him into pieces with his whips, causing all of us to furrow our brows.
"Yo, Tut, shouldn't you be doing something?" Asked Johnny with a slight frown as he glanced at Tut, who shook his head.
"I'm Earth's protector, not its babysitter; I'm not going to always make a move when something happens… If I always arrive to save someone from jumping off a cliff, people will eventually forget the consequence of doing so." Stated Tut solemnly as he gazed at Johnny, who furrowed his brows in confusion while Susan and Ben frowned.
"He's right… If Pharaoh always arrives to prevent a failure, the human race will stagnate. He already saves hundreds of lives a week globally, and that is more than enough." Said Reed with a nod as he lifted his head and gazed at the TV, only to shift his eyes to Tut before focusing on his tablet again.
"Besides, did y'all forget Stark is Ironman?" Asked Tut with a faint smirk as he and everyone else watched Stark don his Ironman suit, which was previously a suitcase.
Although the dude put up a decent fight, he was eventually taken down and immobilized by Stark, prompting the authorities to quickly detain him while medics helped the others who were caught in the crossfire.
"I don't like it." Said Susan with a frown as she glanced between Reed and Tut, who suddenly stood up.
"I never said I liked it either, but the world needs to remain cautious… There are far more deadlier threats out in the Universe, and if Earth gets complacent, it won't stand even a sliver of a chance." Stated Tut lightly, walking backward towards the exit while glancing at Susan.
"Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times." Said Ben softly with a sigh as he lowered his head, his words causing Susan to bite her lip.
"Anyway, I've got a prior appointment, so the rest is up to you four, and you better freaking help Reed, or I'll stretch you around the freaking building." Declared Tut with a yawn as he exited the building, though not before yelling at Reed, who clicked his tongue while muttering under his breath.
Leaving the Baxter Building, which Reed had managed to buy thanks to all the investments and grants earned by his various inventions, not to mention it was hella cheap since it was in Manhattan, specifically close to where the World Engine had previously been stationed.
Flying into the sky, I headed towards a luxurious hotel several miles down the road, which was where Emma was currently residing; swiftly entering the building, I entered the bathroom and changed my clothes before exiting as if nothing happened.
Plopping onto the couch in the lobby, I texted Emma I was in the lobby, earning a simple ok with a lipstick emoji, causing me to grumble as she constantly teased me with something I'd never have.
After a few minutes, I saw one of the elevators open, revealing Emma wearing an all-white dress with a fluffy, white scarf wrapped around her neck that reached her thighs, and to top it all off, she had a white purse.
"God Damn… Ohh, I envy the man who'll wife that." Muttered Tut with a wry expression as he stared at Emma before standing up with a defeated sigh while approaching her.
"How do I look?" Asked Emma with a faint smile as she fluttered her eyebrows at Tut, who entered the elevator.
"Your appearance solidifies your position as the second sexiest woman I've ever encountered." Replied Tut lightly as he stood beside Emma, who pressed the button while flashing a playful smirk.
"Ho, second? Who is above me?" "Gwen Stacy, she's a friend." Remarked Emma and Tut, respectively, as the former curiously raised an eyebrow while the latter showed a picture of Gwen.
"Oh, I know who she is, and I do admit, she is something, though I expected you to say one of your Girlfriends. Do you not find them beautiful?" Asked Emma lightly as she nodded in agreement before skeptically eyeing Tut, who rolled his eyes.
"Oh, trust me, I find them hella sexy; it's just, I've got to be objective. I can't let my love for them get in the way. Otherwise, I'm going to say they're the sexiest." "Hmm, understandable, I suppose." Said Tut and Emma, respectively, as the former shook his head while the latter faintly nodded.
Once the elevator stopped, Emma exited, and I followed behind her, and no, this time, I wasn't staring at her butt as I was texting Sara, who had sent a picture of her masturbating in the bathroom stalls of her work while.
'You want my dick? Oh, trust me, Sara, you'll get it soon.' Thought Tut with a faint smirk as he texted Sara back while his erection strained against his pants.
