Chapter 1425: Roland's Answer
Who is Zi Yu?
Amidst the perplexed gazes of the majority, Feng Yi introduced her as Nangong Ziyu, the younger sister of Nangong Qi. Everyone had seen Nangong Qi before; now he was training with Zi Yu, aiming to challenge Feng Luo and Xiu Yi.
After Feng Yi's brief introduction, everyone warmly accepted her. The Blade Warrior was especially enthusiastic, immediately pulling Zi Yu aside and engaging her in conversation, making her feel flattered and surprised.
After a brief meeting, everyone went about their own business, although there was plenty of time for private conversations. Upon seeing Feng Yi, however, no one was more excited than Hans.
As a loyal follower of the Revenge Shadow Rider, upon seeing the real person, he stood there, eyes fixated on Feng Yi, unsure of what to say.
"Mr. Hans, we meet again," Feng Yi greeted with a smile.
As a business tycoon, Hans's demeanor was usually calm, yet now, upon seeing Feng Yi, he was too excited to utter a single word, his eyes filled with a complex gaze, as if holding a deeper meaning.
Finally, Hans nodded heavily, "Yes." He paused, "One percent of the shares of the quantum train, that was you, right?"
"That's something I could do."
Hans uttered 'Mm' once more; sometimes, men don't need many words.
No one in this world supported Feng Yi more than Hans. He had imagined countless scenarios of meeting Feng Yi; it wasn't friendship, nor love, familial affection—it was a pure, untainted emotion.
Until today, when this bald man met the real Shadow Rider, he appeared unusually calm, neither saying thank you nor expressing any gratitude. Despite this being the first time the two had met, it seemed as if there was an invisible thread connecting them.
"Can I have a drink with you?"
"Of course, my treat."
Feng Yi took out two flasks of wine from the Space Crystal and handed them to Hans.
Receiving the flask, Hans handled it as if it were a world treasure, carefully unscrewing the cap and placing it into the Space Crystal.
At that moment, many images flashed through Hans's mind, from the early days when Feng Yi helped him, to defending the nation on the battlefield, to repeatedly turning the tide in the Phantom Knight 0001, to the black mecha roaming the world, to Mardis saving him. Thinking back now, the scenes were still vivid as if they were happening right before his eyes.
Whether for great love or small love, he owed him/it something to say. Hans solemnly said, "Thank you for your hard work, this flask is in your honor."
At this moment, Feng Yi's mind also linked to past memories.
From beginning to end, he had always believed in himself, driven by a single belief. Hans had invested in creating numerous schools and charity funds, and in his final moments, it was Hans's unwavering faith that brought Feng Yi's nullified consciousness to rebirth, comprehending the essence of 'transcendence.'
"I should be the one to honor you, thank you for your hard work, Mr. Hans."
Hans, his eyes reddening, didn't say much more. He knew the Revenge Shadow Rider best, "Let's share this drink."
"Alright."
Without hesitation, they raised the flasks. In this moment, what they drank was no longer wine but life itself, time, sincerity, unspoken emotions.
Feng Yi did not dissuade him; clearly, Hans had never consumed so much in one go. His body now swayed, he placed the empty flask into the Space Crystal, and pulled out a single-thread communicator: "I'm leaving; I'll always keep this with me."
Feng Yi nodded to him with a smile, knowing that Hans came here not for the Blade Warrior or any fame and fortune, but simply to see him.
They exchanged a glance, this one glance was like the final farewell between Feng Yi and Huang Zhennan, as if filled with countless words, yet neither said more.
Then, Hans strode away...
Although everyone was busy with their own matters, aside from those unaware, most eyes were completely focused on them.
Unblinkingly, gazes locked in their direction, the look from Sky Shadow was inexplicably deep; ah, this truly was the moment when silence speaks louder than words…
Sky Shadow's gaze puzzled Feng Luo; he couldn't understand why the usually reserved Sky Shadow uncle would focus such a certain look on that man.
"Uncle Sky Shadow, what are you looking at?"
"There are things that you will understand when you grow up."
Kexiao clearly knew that between Feng Yi and Hans, there was a bond not any less significant than any others. This bond was not something that could be easily articulated.
However, this hidden bond was something Roland couldn't comprehend; even after a hundred years, she couldn't understand it. Sometimes, men are even more mysterious creatures than women.
He stepped forward, staring at Feng Yi for a long moment, "Do you have a strong relationship?"
"Can't really say it's strong."
"An average relationship?"
"Not exactly average either."
"Hmm... then it must be special."
"Haha, something like that."
Feng Yi shrugged nonchalantly. Compared to himself, he knew Roland had more distant pursuits and wouldn't come to Sky City without reason. "What brings you to a gathering today?"
"Just getting out for some fresh air." Roland glanced back at everyone behind, "Look... isn't it nice? Rarely a chance to chat with friends."
Feng Yi laughed freely, "You can't hide from me; you must have something on your mind."
"Eh, what do you mean?"
"We probably won't meet again; remember you said something like that."
Indeed, she had said such words, but upon hearing this, Roland's body froze in place.
She clearly remembered, when she said these words, Feng Yi was dead. Therefore, Feng Yi couldn't possibly know what she had said.
With the personalities of these people, even if Feng Yi brought it up, no one would mention it. Moreover, she thought she understood Feng Yi well enough that he wouldn't ask such trivial questions.
"How do you know?" Roland asked with a slightly odd expression.
Feng Yi smiled mysteriously, "I know everything, it all depends on what I want to know or not."
"Eh? That..." Roland pondered...
"Impression Sequence, dimension conversion, transcendence retrospection, there are many ways to know what happened in the past. Which one do you want to hear?"
"Haha, adults never choose." Roland replied with a bright smile.
"Alright, I promise you, but you have to tell me your real purpose for coming here."
"First, tell me what dimensional conversion is; I'm curious."
"Super-dimensional consciousness is a state of spiritual energy waves at the time of human death, belonging to the intermediate state of the soul, approaching the third dimension, considered a basic cosmic form of the Third Rhythm, possessing magical abilities, capable of analyzing everything that has happened in the past, understand?"
Having lived for centuries, Roland, no matter how lacking in knowledge, understood his terminology somewhat, "Hmm, I vaguely understand."
"Alright, now answer my question."
Roland said, "I shouldn't really speak of this, but whenever a civilization evolves to a certain stage, it is accompanied by destruction. This is the natural selection of the cosmic filtration, an unavoidable disaster for humanity—as the quantum train manifests, our disaster will also arrive."
