Chapter 194: Chapter 194: Odin, I Have Returned
"The Will of Heaven?"
"King, have you ever heard of such a power?" Heimdall asked, puzzled, as he looked at Odin.
Despite watching over the Nine Realms for centuries, Heimdall had never encountered such a term. Though he hadn't heard it before, merely uttering those words gave him the sensation of brushing against something profound and elusive.
Odin, who had been focused on the conflict between Loki and Thor on Earth, suddenly shifted his attention when the Emperor's power erupted.
This power had surpassed even his own Allfather-level strength.
"The Will of Heaven..."
Odin murmured the words softly, sensing a similar, mysterious resonance.
"Years ago, when I roamed Midgard, I recall hearing that term in an ancient Eastern kingdom," Odin said, his brows furrowing in contemplation.
"At the time, I didn't think much of it."
"But now…"
A thought struck him, and his expression grew serious.
"Could it be the name of another god?"
"But weren't there only five Primordial Gods?" Heimdall interjected, certain of his knowledge.
In this universe, five Primordial Gods existed since the dawn of creation: Eternity, Infinity, Oblivion, Death, and the Planet Devourer—Galactus, who had once been defeated by Mephisto.
Among them, Galactus was considered the weakest, often mocked as the "Disgrace of the Gods."
Each of these deities chose emissaries to traverse the universe on their behalf, observing the cosmos in their stead.
Yet, among these five, none bore the name "Will of Heaven."
Odin shook his head, offering no further explanation.
The universe was far more complex than Heimdall could perceive. Even Odin himself wouldn't dare claim complete understanding of its true nature.
There were beings who stood above the Primordial Gods, such as the Living Tribunal, the cosmic entity governing universal order—before whom even the Primordial Gods bowed.
Seeing Odin's reluctance to explain, Heimdall refrained from further questioning, understanding that some knowledge was best left undiscovered.
"Mephisto is going to lose."
Odin's gaze darkened as he continued to watch the battle between the Emperor and Mephisto.
---
"What... what is this now?"
After the Emperor struck the talisman inscribed with the character 'Wood', Mephisto was horrified to see green vines sprouting from the lifeless surface of the Death Star.
The vines rapidly climbed his body, coiling tightly around him and rendering him immobile.
This is a Death Star!
How can the Emperor summon such thriving, life-filled plants here?
As a master of the arcane arts, Mephisto was certain that the Emperor's power was not magic.
Could this be the incomprehensible Will of Heaven?
The 'Wood' talisman had firmly bound Mephisto, ensuring he had no chance of escape.
Alan waved the Emperor's Sword, summoning the talisman inscribed with 'Water'.
"The Concealment of Water!"
Instantly, countless ice shards rained down on Mephisto like droplets, their terrifying cold extinguishing the flames of his hellfire.
Even Mephisto, who wielded a unique power of cold, felt a bone-chilling freeze that pierced his very core.
"No! My hell… it can still grant me power!"
But to his horror, Mephisto realized his connection to Hell had been severed without him noticing.
"Mephisto, stop wasting your energy," Alan declared.
"From the moment you fell to my Five Shadows Strike, I severed all your sources of power."
"Now, face the judgment of the Will of Heaven."
"No! Emperor!"
"I was wrong! I truly know I was wrong! Please, spare me!"
"I swear, I will never set foot on Earth again... No, I'll never set foot in this universe again!"
Desperation consumed Mephisto. He knew that if this continued, he would truly die.
The reason Mephisto had always been immortal and indestructible was his reliance on the power of Hell.
But now, that connection to Hell was severed.
What immortality could he speak of now?
"If you spare me, I'll stay in Hell obediently from now on and never emerge again."
"I can even become your slave."
"I'll hand Hell over to you."
Alan swung the Emperor Sword once more, fusing the Fire and Earth talismans.
"Mephisto, from the moment you decided to target me, your fate was sealed."
"I have no interest in you, and even less in your Hell."
"You crossed me, and now you must pay the price."
Mephisto, grasping at any chance for survival, hastily continued to plead:
"No! I can still be useful!"
"...I still have value!"
"If you let me go, I can take you back to Earth immediately. Right now, Earth is under attack by Thanos' army."
"If you return, you can save Earth in time."
"Without me, you won't make it back in time from here."
Desperately, Mephisto laid out his worth, willing to serve Alan like a beast of burden if it meant his life would be spared.
"I don't need you. Earth is not as fragile as you think."
"Inferno of Fire and Earth!"
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Countless flaming rocks rained down on Mephisto, one after another, smashing into him.
First, his entire body was frozen by the power of extreme cold, and then came the explosive force of extreme heat.
All Mephisto could do was scream in agony—there was no other escape.
---
"Aaaahhh… Please… Emperor…"
The final Metal talisman radiated with golden light as Alan clasped it in his hand, then affixed it to the Emperor Sword.
In the cycle of the five elements, Metal represents destruction. Ending the battle with the Metal talisman aligned with the natural order.
"Metal Constriction!"
Alan, wielding the Emperor Sword, descended like a blazing fireball.
Boom!
A deafening explosion erupted, sending waves of intense flames surging outward, illuminating the lifeless Death Star.
In Asgard, both Heimdall and Odin instinctively shut their eyes, unable to bear the blinding light.
Odin's face darkened with displeasure.
"Mephisto… you useless fool."
"You couldn't even escape."
---
Meanwhile, in Hell…
Hela, bound by chains of black magic, suddenly felt her restraints lift.
She burst into laughter.
"Hahaha…!"
The black chains binding her dissolved into a dark mist and faded away.
"Mephisto, you thought you were scheming against Odin."
"But in truth, Odin has been scheming against you all along. This seal—it's a contract forged with your soul by Odin."
"Odin… I have returned."
But just as she finished speaking, a surge of multicolored energy pierced through space and struck her heavily in the back.
Boom!
The entire realm of Hell trembled violently.
The echoes of Hell's trembling mixed with Hela's furious curses:
"Odin, you bastard!"
"Just wait for me…"
