Marvel: Trading with Worlds

Chapter 185: C134(2)

Betty smiled and interrupted him, "Dad, you might want to take that back later."

"What do you mean?" Ross asked, catching the knowing smile on Betty's face. Suddenly, a thought struck him.

Could it be the thing he'd been pressuring her about for days? "Has the super soldier serum yielded results?"

"We haven't even reached the private room yet," Kain said, his tone laced with sarcasm. "Knowing your excitable nature, it's hard to believe you're proud of being a general."

Ross clenched his fists, trembling with anger at Kain's jab, but the thought of the super soldier serum kept him moving. He followed Kain and Betty into the elevator.

Inside the private room, Ross barely touched his food before blurting out, "Has the super soldier serum been perfected?"

Kain smirked and gestured to the two men standing behind Ross. "Take a look. The only difference between them and Captain America is their clothes and his shield."

Kain gestured toward Rove and Carlo. When it came to strength, the only thing they lacked was their own exclusive combat equipment.

While he found Captain America's round shield unattractive, Kain had a strong appreciation for vibranium.

He mused that if he combined it with Chakra metal, he could potentially synthesize a new alloy capable of absorbing energy.

"My God, you actually succeeded in your research," Ross exclaimed after watching the video of Rove and Carlo.

He couldn't hide his astonishment, thoroughly impressed by the capabilities of Kain's biological research center.

Since Dr. Erskine's death, the military had spent over 20 years trying to replicate the super soldier serum without success.

In the end, they could only seal away the remnants of the original formula. Yet here were two seemingly perfect super soldiers with no visible side effects.

Kain, anticipating Ross's thoughts, warned him, "They're special cases. If you inject someone else with this serum, they might turn out like Captain America—or the Red Skull. Worst case, they could become dangerously unstable."

He made sure to explain this upfront, although even with these risks, his serum was leagues ahead of the military's earlier attempts.

Ross quickly regained his composure and asked, "How do you want to collaborate?"

"I want the Oscorp Group intact," Kain replied confidently. "That shouldn't be too difficult for you. We already have a solid foundation for cooperation. If the Oscorp Group develops, don't you think it would be far superior to Hammer Industries or Stark Industries?"

Kain shrugged. "Starting from scratch would take me years to reach the scale of the Oscorp Group. This is a ready-made opportunity. Why would I pass it up?"

Ross sighed, clearly wary. "You're even harder to deal with than Hammer and Stark."

"But unlike them, I bring you benefits," Kain countered. "They just profit off you."

Ross fell silent, mulling over Kain's words. After some thought, he said, "I'll need to discuss this. The Oscorp Group doesn't have direct connections with our side, but acquiring Osborne's shares shouldn't be too difficult. He owns only..."

"I've already negotiated 27%," Kain interrupted with a smile. "With your help, we can secure the rest. Super soldiers will need custom equipment—don't you want to be the one to make it?"

This argument sealed the deal for Ross. He raised his glass to Kain and said, "Alright. I'll make it happen as soon as possible."

Kain raised his own glass in return. "Then congratulations—you'll soon have a team of 'Captain Americas.'"

Ross's excitement was evident as his face lit up with joy.

His bristling mustache twitched as he imagined mass-producing "Captain Americas" to replace the failed super soldier squad in the Middle East. Kain, in his eyes, was a true stroke of luck.

"By the way, are you interested in this?" Ross asked, pulling out a device and playing a video for Kain.

The footage showed a massive green creature, over two meters tall, breaking through a wall while soldiers opened fire on it.

Despite the gunfire, the creature escaped with ease. The video lasted only a few seconds, but it was enough for Kain to recognize the figure.

"Hulk?" Kain said, narrowing his eyes.

"You know him? He did yell something like that when he smashed through the wall," Ross replied, shaking his head. "That idiot man has always pushed for enhanced armament development. I didn't expect he'd secretly conduct human enhancement experiments. It looks like a failure, but this green monster is undeniably powerful."

Kain nodded. "This was likely an accident. If I'm right, Bruce Banner became this after exposure to gamma radiation. You might want to investigate further."

"Bruce Banner?" Betty asked, stunned. Though she and Bruce had nearly broken up, seeing him in this state left her speechless.

Ross, now intrigued by the possibilities, asked tentatively, "Do you want to study him? Whoever captures this green monster could have him for research."

"Are you joking? Don't dump that trouble on me," Kain retorted. "You can't kill that guy, not even with a nuke. Conventional metals can't contain him. My biological research center is worth tens of billions—if he smashes it, who's paying for the damages?"

Kain's refusal was immediate and firm. "The Hulk isn't an experiment subject; he's a walking bomb. The angrier he gets, the stronger he becomes. If he saw me as a threat, that two-meter frame might grow to five meters."

He scoffed. "No thanks. You can keep your 'green disaster' far away from me."
