Val arrived home in a hurry, his heart racing and his mind still reeling from the events of the day. Without wasting any time, he hastily removed his clothes and stepped into the bathroom. The water cascading from the showerhead was a welcome relief, washing away the sweat and grime of the day. He scrubbed his body with vigor, ensuring that every last trace of blood or dirt was removed. As he emerged from the shower, he felt a sense of relief wash over him, knowing that he had done all he could to cleanse himself of the day's horrors.

Val swiftly made his way to his room and reached for a fresh set of clothes. He carefully laid out his new attire, ensuring that it was neatly pressed and wrinkle-free. He then proceeded to meticulously scrub his bloodstained clothes, making sure that every inch was free from any incriminating evidence.

Once Val had changed into a new set of clothes and carefully cleaned the remnants of the day's events, he stashed the tainted garments in the recesses of his closet, concealed from prying eyes. As he descended the stairs, his stomach growled in anticipation of lunch, and he headed towards the kitchen, a faint melody escaping his lips as he hummed a tune.

Val's peaceful lunchtime was suddenly interrupted by the sound of Peggy unlocking the door and entering the house. He immediately recognized the sound of her coat rustling as she took it off and hung it on the hanger. Val smiled at the familiarity of the sound, knowing that Peggy was finally home after a long day. He heard her take a deep breath and let out a sigh of relief, signaling that she was happy to be home.

As Peggy entered the kitchen, she was greeted by the warm and inviting aroma of a savory dish in the making. Her eyes fell on Val, who was diligently working in the kitchen, his focus solely on the dish before him. She couldn't help but smile at the sight of him. As she walked over to him, she leaned in and peered curiously at the pot bubbling on the stove. "What're you making?" she asked, her tone full of wonder.

Val looked up and met her gaze with a smile. "A pot roast," he replied, his voice filled with pride at the thought of the delicious meal that would soon be ready to share.

Peggy leaned in closer and took a deep breath, savoring the mouthwatering aroma of the dish. "It smells delicious," she exclaimed with a wide grin, her taste buds already anticipating the flavors. "I hope it tastes just as good," she added, still admiring the pot roast.

Val looked up from his work and flashed a confident smile. "Trust me, it will be amazing," he said, his voice filled with conviction.

Peggy was about to speak when she caught a whiff of something odd in the air. Curiosity got the best of her, and she leaned closer to Val, sniffing his shoulder. Val was taken aback and leaned away, puzzled by her actions. "What are you doing?" he asked, his voice laced with confusion.

Peggy's eyes narrowed as she caught a whiff of a distinctly feminine scent on Val's shoulder. With a calm yet stern expression, she asked, "Val, why are you wearing women's perfume? It can't be mine, as I don't own that kind of fragrance."

Val shifted uneasily and tried to brush it off, but Peggy was not easily deterred. "Did you leave the house today?" she pressed, her grip on his collar tightening.

Val hesitated, unsure of how to respond. Peggy's grip grew tighter, and she demanded, "Answer me, Val. Did you leave the house or not?"

Silence hung heavy in the air as Val avoided her gaze. Peggy's resolve hardened, and she released him, saying, "If you won't tell me the truth, I'll have to search your room."

As soon as Peggy mentioned checking his room, Val's heart sank. He knew he couldn't let her find any evidence of what he had done earlier. Without a moment's hesitation, Peggy dashed up the stairs, leaving Val standing in the kitchen with a sinking feeling in his stomach. He quickly removed his apron and chased after her, hoping he could stop her before she found anything incriminating.

Val sprinted up the stairs, heart racing with anxiety. He could hear Peggy's footsteps as she stormed towards his room. He reached the top and saw that the door to his room was wide open. Dread pooled in his stomach as he stepped inside and found Peggy tearing through his closet, tossing clothes onto the floor in her search for evidence.

Val watched as Peggy's eyes landed on the black outfit he had hidden in the closet. He quickly shouted, "Peggy, stop!" but she only paused when her eyes fell upon the ominous attire. The look of horror on her face was enough to confirm Val's worst fear. She slowly turned to him and stammered, "Y-You are The Phantom Reaper?!"

Val felt the weight of the confession lifting off his shoulders as he reluctantly nodded and said, "Yes, I am the Phantom Reaper."

Before he could utter another word, Peggy's fist came flying towards him, striking him hard in the face.

* WHAM *

Val stumbled back and fell to the floor, his hand instinctively flying up to his throbbing cheek.

"What the fuck, Peggy?" he shouted, bewildered by her sudden attack. But Peggy was too consumed with rage to answer. She continued to rain blows upon him, her fists and feet pounding his body until exhaustion set in.

Finally, she stopped, panting heavily as she glared down at him. "Are you a fucking idiot?" she shouted, her voice dripping with anger and disappointment.
