Marvel : Strongest Siblings

Chapter 71: Marvel 71

Max and his crew looked around as the people of Fish-Man Island regarded them with a mix of awe and fear. To many, they appeared as saviors, while others watched them warily, uncertain of their true intentions.

"Wow! I didn't think I'd see real mermaids!" Gwen exclaimed excitedly, practically bouncing as she flitted from one mermaid to another, marveling at their beauty and uniqueness. Her enthusiasm drew some smiles from the more curious mermaids, who couldn't help but giggle at her childlike wonder.

Meanwhile, Patrick leaned back against a nearby post, watching the scene unfold. "You guys go and enjoy yourselves," he said to the rest of the crew, waving them off casually. "I'll stay here and keep an eye on the Celestial Dragons."

The others nodded in agreement, dispersing to explore the vibrant underwater city. As the crew mingled with the locals, laughter and chatter began to fill the air, the initial tension slowly giving way to cautious curiosity.

Patrick, meanwhile, remained steadfast, his eyes never leaving the chained Celestial Dragons. His relaxed posture belied the sharp vigilance in his gaze, ensuring that their captives would not cause any trouble—or escape.

The vibrant, shimmering world of Fish-Man Island unfolded before Max's crew like a living painting. Coral buildings of every imaginable color sparkled under the soft, bioluminescent glow of the water. Schools of fish swam gracefully through the air, weaving between intricate coral pathways and giant seashell structures. The people of the island—Fish-Men, Mermaids, and Merfolk—moved through the streets with a natural fluidity, their aquatic elegance mesmerizing to the surface-dwellers.

Max stood at the edge of the bustling square, observing the scene with his characteristic calm. His sharp eyes noted the mix of reactions to his presence—some curious, some fearful, others quietly hopeful. The Celestial Dragons, still shackled and humiliated, were dragged to a secure corner under Patrick's watchful gaze. Their once-imposing auras were now reduced to pitiful whimpers, drawing glares and sneers from the Fish-Men, many of whom bore scars from years of World Government oppression.

Gwen, meanwhile, was a whirlwind of excitement. She darted between the locals, asking questions and marveling at their unique features. "Your tail is so cool!" she exclaimed to a young mermaid with shimmering blue scales. The girl giggled nervously, her fear of Gwen's imposing pirate identity slowly giving way to curiosity.

Bullet, a battle maniac, had found his way to a Fish-Man blacksmith. He watched as the smith worked on a weapon forged from deep-sea minerals, his keen eye taking in the craftsmanship. "Your materials are top-notch," he said gruffly. "Might need a new blade myself. Think you can handle it?"

Leo, on the other hand, had taken to climbing the coral towers, his laughter echoing as he swung from structure to structure. "This place is like a giant playground!" he called down, his energy infectious enough to draw a few Fish-Men to cheer him on.

As they watched him, jump from one dangerous building to another while flashing his swords, few Swordsman of the fishmen race also came to him to fight but were uterosuly defeated as they looked at him in awe and respect.

Enel stood apart from the group, his expression unreadable as he gazed up at the immense air bubble that encapsulated the island. "Such fragile beauty," he muttered, his golden staff tapping rhythmically against the ground. The hum of electricity crackled faintly around him, a reminder of his untamed power.

As the crew scattered, Max remained rooted in place, his mind working as he scanned the island. Ryugu Palace loomed in the distance, its majestic towers a testament to the grandeur of the Fish-Man royal family. Max's lips curled into a faint smirk. "Time to meet King Neptune," he said to himself.

He turned to Patrick, who was idly watching the Celestial Dragons. "Keep them in line," Max ordered. "I'll handle the negotiations."

Patrick gave a lazy salute. "Don't worry, boss. If they try anything, they'll regret it."

In the shadows, a group of royal guards watched nervously, unsure of how to proceed. They exchanged uneasy glances, their attention torn between the spectacle unfolding before them and the looming figure of Ryugu Palace in the distance.

"Should we inform King Neptune?" one guard whispered.

"Of course!" another hissed. "But what can we even do? If we intervene, we risk the lives of our people. And… he has them as hostages."

The guards hesitated, unsure whether to act or wait. The delicate balance of their kingdom's safety now hinged on the actions of the enigmatic pirate standing before them.

Max began to walk toward the palace, his cape billowing behind him. The crowds parted as he passed, their whispers growing louder. To them, the Night Monarch was an enigma—a figure of both fear and hope, a man who had defied the World Government and lived to tell the tale.

As he made his way through the city, an elderly Fish-Man stepped forward, his scaled face etched with years of hardship. "Thank you," the man said, his voice trembling with emotion. "For standing up to those… monsters."

Max paused, his golden eyes softening for a brief moment. "Don't thank me yet," he replied. "The real fight is just beginning."

The man nodded, tears glistening in his eyes as he stepped back into the crowd. Max's words hung heavy in the air, a promise that sent ripples through the hearts of the island's people.

Back in the square, Gwen had found herself surrounded by a group of mermaids who were braiding her hair with seaweed and pearls. "I could get used to this," she said with a grin, her earlier energy now channeled into playful banter.

Bullet returned from the blacksmith with a massive sword slung over his shoulder, its blade glinting like polished obsidian. "Not bad," he remarked, showing it off to Leo, who whistled appreciatively.

The crew's camaraderie, combined with their undeniable power, began to win over the wary locals. Slowly, Fish-Man Island warmed to its unexpected visitors, the scars of the past momentarily eclipsed by the promise of change.

As Max approached the gates of Ryugu Palace, he was met by a contingent of royal guards. Their leader, a tall, broad-shouldered Fish-Man with a trident, stepped forward. "State your business, pirate," he said, his tone wary but not hostile.
