Chapter 96: The Darkhold
Aside from Dormammu in the Dark Dimension, Qi Jun was actually more interested in another dimensional demon.
According to the battle memories of the Ancient One, this dimensional demon was an even higher-level existence than Dormammu! Chthon, an ancient Earth god of darkness who had existed for an unknown number of years, later left Earth and created his own Hell Dimension! An absolute powerhouse! From the scattered memories of the Ancient One, Qi Jun learned that this guy had the ability to fight the three Vishanti on equal terms! Seemingly opposed to the white magic of the Vishanti lineage, he was the originator of black magic.
Such a powerful ancient god was certainly not someone Qi Jun would dare provoke now.
But! From the Ancient One's memories, Qi Jun discovered that Kamar-Taj originally had a notebook left by Chthon before he departed, which recorded most of Chthon's magic and some miscellaneous knowledge, such as building a virtual dimensional world with a rudimentary binary computer, just for laughs. However, in a subsequent upheaval, Kamar-Taj lost this "Chthon's Notebook."
Coincidentally, due to the notebook's inherent shielding, the Ancient One couldn't locate it.
But Qi Jun knew exactly where it was! Having watched the plot of the Marvel spin-off series, Qi Jun knew that the "Chthon's Notebook" was known to Earthlings as the "Darkhold"! Although Qi Jun didn't know the exact location where the "Darkhold" was buried, he knew who could get it!
The Power Energy Lab, a lab once set up by some guys who obtained the "Darkhold" to create something out of nothing, though abandoned for a long time, was easy for Tai Bai to locate!
"Whew"
"This is the Power Energy Lab? It really has been abandoned for a long time!"
Based on the images displayed by Tai Bai, Qi Jun used **Mind Teleportation** to get there. Seeing the dust-covered lab, it was clear it had been abandoned for a long time.
But Qi Jun didn't care. With a few flickers, he arrived in the core room of the Power Energy Lab.
There were a few eerie boxes still connected to electricity! These were Qi Jun's targets.
With a wave of his hand, the boxes opened, releasing a mist from which faint phantoms floated out.
Qi Jun knew this was the result of an experiment involving the "Darkhold," turning these people into a ghostly state between soul and body.
Having imprinted all of the Ancient One's magic skills, Qi Jun was quite adept at dealing with this situation. He cast a few purification spells, and the ghostly figures quickly reverted to their human forms.
"Who are you?"
Having been trapped in the boxes for over a decade, these people were still groggy and wary of Qi Jun, their rescuer.
Qi Jun didn't mind. Rescuing them was just incidental, or rather, it was the price for the information on the "Darkhold's" location.
Focusing on the only woman among them, Qi Jun used the mutation stone to copy and manifest her memories of where they had found the "Darkhold."
Sure enough, after the upheaval, the "Darkhold" was reburied in the same place it had been unearthed.
Holding a small skill book manifested with just a bit of energy, Qi Jun's mouth twitched. Ignoring the confused expressions of the group, he absorbed the skill book and instantly teleported away.
Although the "Darkhold" could also be linked to a Ghost Rider from the Hell Dimension, Qi Jun had no interest in him for the moment. He teleported to the location, dug up the "Chthon's Notebook," and instantly returned to the space station on Venus.
Holding the "Chthon's Notebook," Qi Jun went to the side of the space station with a floor-to-ceiling window made entirely of transparent material. Sitting on a rocking chair, he basked in the sun and opened the "Chthon's Notebook."
Unquestionably, as the notebook of an ancient god of darkness, while Qi Jun read it, it was also reading him.
Therefore, when Qi Jun opened it, he saw all the text in perfect Chinese characters! Simultaneously, Qi Jun felt a powerful mental force emanating from the "Chthon's Notebook," attempting to corrode him.
"Indeed, it is worthy of being the originator of black magic. Even just a notebook is so sinister!"
With the Ancient One's magic skills imprinted in his mind, Qi Jun naturally sensed this eerie mental force and corrosion but continued reading the "Chthon's Notebook."
The seemingly powerful, evil, and sinister corrosive mental force didn't even touch Qi Jun's soul before being instantly devoured by the mutation stone! Qi Jun had the confidence to read the "Chthon's Notebook" knowing how powerful Chthon was. This confidence was brought by the mutation stone, which ensured Qi Jun's immunity to all attacks on his mind, spirit, and soul! A mere notebook was nothing. Even if facing Chthon himself, Qi Jun wouldn't fear his mental, spiritual, or soul attacks!
The mutation stone was just that powerful! Of course, it only nullified harmful aspects.
Qi Jun found that he didn't need to turn pages. Simply thinking about the content he wanted to see made the "Chthon's Notebook" automatically display it.
Provided the notebook contained that information!
