Chapter 20: Mastery Of Firearms Skill Book!
Qi Jun, who had been sprinting to the limit, collapsed three times along the way.
But still, he arrived on time half an hour later outside a remote safe house belonging to Big Daddy and Hit-Girl, which wasn't shown in the movies.
Reality is not a movie, and it can only clarify some things.
Or rather, a movie is just a snapshot of the protagonist's life for a certain period.
In the real world, one can take movie plots as a reference, but they can only partially be trusted.
Like tonight, Big Daddy and Hit-Girl were not prepared to go after their arch-nemesis, the drug lord Frank D'Amico.
Instead, these two audacious folks had somehow got wind that tonight, the Kingpin's Gang was smuggling a shipload of 'private goods' into the port.
Strapped for cash, Big Daddy and Hit-Girl planned to rob the Kingpin's Gang, taking the most valuable items from this shipment of 'private goods'!
And if possible, to take even more valuable items!
.............
When Qi Jun learned from the message sent back by the biochip manifested under Hit-Girl's skin, he was stunned.
What the heck? Big Daddy and Hit-Girl are going to rob the Kingpin's Gang?
Holy smokes!
These two unlucky ones, didn't they forget to take their meds?
A big drug lord like Frank D'Amico, who has always been a headache for Big Daddy and Hit-Girl, is just a dispensable dog under the Kingpin's Gang.
These two, unable to handle even a dog of theirs, dared to trouble the Kingpin's Gang boldly.
Maybe Big Daddy and Hit-Girl didn't know that the Kingpin's Gang was a big player controlling half of the underworld in the United States.
Or perhaps someone wants them dead and deliberately leaked this information to Big Daddy and Hit-Girl to send them to their doom?
Otherwise, is it possible that Frank D'Amico bribed Big Daddy and Hit-Girl's source of information by intentionally leaking it?
After all, although Big Daddy and Hit-Girl are negligible in front of the Kingpin's Gang, they are quite troublesome for Frank D'Amico~
Big Daddy and Hit-Girl, always like a dogged plaster, have been lingering around Frank D'Amico, unable to be killed or driven away, ruining countless deals for him. Truly disgusting.
Luckily, although Big Daddy and Hit-Girl seemed a bit drugged, they hadn't lost their minds.
They still knew that it was not right to seek death and didn't plan to storm the headquarters of the Kingpin's Gang.
Joking aside, if they couldn't even break into Frank D'Amico's headquarters, how could they dare to attack the much more dangerous headquarters of the Kingpin's Gang?
.............
Standing by a window of this safe house, pleased with the mystical effect of the 'Undercover Sunglasses,' Qi Jun pulled out two comic books from his bag.
These naturally were the vessels Qi Jun had specially prepared for the Mastery of Firearms skill.
And who knows if the newsstand owner, from whom Qi Jun swiped the two comic books, would suspect anything?
Of course, as a model youth of society, how could Qi Jun not pay? He exchanged ten dollars for the two comic books.
However, when the newsstand owner would discover the ten dollars Qi Jun had tucked into his cheap cigar box, that was anybody's guess.
.............
Shaking his head, Qi Jun discarded the potentially suspicious expression of the newsstand owner from his mind.
With a flicker of thought, Qi Jun, through the [Mutated Stone], began manifesting the 'Mastery of Firearms Skill Book.'
As expected, the [Mutated Stone] feedback was higher than when Qi Jun manifested the 'English Proficiency Skill Book.'
A whole 10 points of energy!
Whether it was Big Daddy or Hit-Girl, manifesting the 'Firearms Mastery Skill Book' with their gun skills would cost 10 points of energy!
If it had been yesterday or early this morning, Qi Jun would have struggled to decide which to manifest and which to forego.
But now, with a stable energy source (sunbathing), Qi Jun extravagantly decided: both!
Qi Jun considered that Hit-Girl's firearm skills were all taught by Big Daddy, and there would be a lot of overlap.
But Qi Jun decided to manifest both, wanting both.
Even if their ways of using firearms were identical, their experiences and feelings in using them would differ greatly.
This was precisely what Qi Jun valued.
As a model citizen of the new century, Qi Jun had never handled a real gun; even during military training in his youth, he only touched realistic plastic models.
As a complete novice, Qi Jun didn't want to be limited by one person's style and technique of firearm use.
Unlike English skills, where sufficient proficiency for communication is enough, firearm skills require more exposure and practice to develop one's style eventually. That's the correct approach!
Thus, Qi Jun extravagantly decided to manifest two firearm skills that would likely overlap significantly.
.............
For example, when manifesting skills, the invisible power of the [Mutated Stone] first swept over Big Daddy and Hit-Girl, copying their firearm skills, and then delivered two skill books to Qi Jun's hands.
There were no special effects, and the invisible power instantly turned the two skill books into palm-sized, dusty books—' Firearms Mastery Skill Books.'
The nearly identical two skill books still had a tiny difference.
One had 'BD' written on it, and the other had 'HG'.
.............
Without rushing to absorb the skills, Qi Jun's thoughts flashed again.
The [Mutated Stone] immediately responded with information: Basic enhancement of 100 energy points!
What the heck! So expensive?
Qi Jun's face twitched; all the energy he had acquired so far (though it might not have been 24 hours yet) wasn't enough for one enhancement.
However, basic enhancement implied there were also intermediate enhancements, advanced enhancements, and possibly even higher enhancement levels!
Qi Jun was very satisfied with this.
He wasn't afraid of the cost!
He was just afraid there wouldn't be any!
It didn't matter what; he would always be lucky if there were enough energy!
.............
Dreaming momentarily, Qi Jun saw that Big Daddy and Hit-Girl were almost ready to go.
Qi Jun quickly rubbed out the two 'Firearms Mastery Skill Books'!
