Marvel Start With Reality Stone

Chapter 12: Experimenting With The Hidden Functions

He slept until daylight.

The mixed sounds of people woke up Qi Jun.

After washing up, standing by the window, and looking at the bustling scene of people coming and going in Chinatown, Qi Jun couldn't help but sigh.

Indeed, as long as one has Chinese heritage, no matter where they go, they can turn that place into a thriving area!

After leaving the small hotel and having a serving of Americanized Chinese food in Chinatown, Qi Jun walked towards the small apartment that he had just acquired with a weird expression on his face.

Thinking back to just the day before, when he could eat delicious Chinese cuisine anytime and anywhere, what exactly was this Americanized Chinese food he was now eating?

Qi Jun swore that he had never tasted such horrible "Chinese food"!

In the end, Qi Jun had no choice but to spend a whole ten dollars at the supermarket to buy a pack of tasteless whole wheat bread and a bottle of what was supposedly ancient Eastern soy sauce to somewhat soothe his rebellious stomach.

With a sigh, following the navigation to the address, Qi Jun 'struggled' to find his 'new home.'

Fumbling at the door frame for a moment to find a key, he opened the door and was completely out of energy to complain.

Sitting in his 'new home,' he no longer paid attention to the old furniture; it was just a temporary residence anyway.

Qi Jun began to think about how to maximize the use of the remaining 14 points of energy.

The language barrier had to be resolved!

Walking all the way here, even though most of the people around him were Chinese or of Chinese descent and spoke Mandarin, the awkward accents still gave Qi Jun a headache.

Moreover, the thought of leaving Chinatown and facing communication issues meant that resolving the language barrier was a must.

Blending into the surrounding crowd and using the environment to improve oral communication gradually was fine, but it was too time-consuming.

And for Qi Jun, time was exactly what he lacked the most!

As for the sunset sweet potatoes and such, they were still a long way off, not to mention for now.

When night falls, Qi Jun would definitely need to follow Hit-Girl's location to pick up any opportunities that might arise.

Although picking up opportunities doesn't require language communication, knowing what others are saying and doing is essential, and to see, one must first understand.

Therefore, utilizing the [Mutated Stone] to learn English quickly became Qi Jun's top priority.

Qi Jun first tried to use the [Mutated Stone] to grant himself proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English.

But the feedback from the [Mutated Stone] startled Qi Jun, prompting him to quickly send a signal to the [Mutated Stone] to cancel the action.

A total of 10 points of energy!

That was the feedback Qi Jun received from the [Mutated Stone].

Qi Jun was curious to know whether granting a human proficiency in a skill indeed required that much energy or if it was just for him.

Qi Jun also needed to find out whether the 10 points of energy necessary to grant a person proficiency in skill was a lot or a little.

But with only 14 points of energy in his hands, if he directly granted himself proficiency in English, wouldn't he be left with just 4 points of energy?

What can be done with 4 points of energy?

Could I add some more money to my bank account?

To ensure this money is legitimate, one would need to alter the memories of a vast number of people, but more than the 4 points of energy would be required for that!

Are we creating gold out of nothing? What for? To make oneself a target for robbery?

The priority now is to have the ability to protect oneself.

At the very least, one shouldn't be easily captured and then simply starve or suffocate to death!

Qi Jun thought carefully, and there might still be some tricks to this.

Qi Jun felt that his use of the [Reality Stone] still needed to be more complex and crude.

He decided to conduct some experiments to see if the [Reality Stone]'s powers were as he imagined.

Qi Jun had a vague intuition about the [Reality Stone]'s capabilities, but by trying, he knew if this feeling was correct.

.............

First, Qi Jun turned his 'new home' upside down, finding some old plastic products and iron tools in the storeroom, some of which were even rusted.

Then, Qi Jun divided these iron tools into xxx parts.

He took out the top Huawei laptop he had materialized earlier, turned it on, and connected to the internet.

After getting ready, Qi Jun began experimenting with the application of the [Reality Stone]'s abilities.

Experiment 1: Without using anything, Qi Jun imagined materializing a Glock 19 pistol.

As a pseudo-American drama fan (who only watches Marvel and its spin-offs), Qi Jun knew that this was a pistol that frequently appears in the New York Police Department (NYPD) in American dramas.

But Qi Jun needed to learn how to construct this pistol, not even the materials from which it was made.

The purpose of the experiment was to see how much energy it would take to materialize a Glock 19, knowing only its name and appearance!

With a thought, the [Reality Stone] responded, requiring a whole 1 point of energy!

Of course, Qi Jun immediately abandoned the idea and continued to keep his 14 points of energy.

Experiment 2: Qi Jun went to the pile of old plastic and scrap metal, imagining -- using the existing materials in front of him to materialize a Glock 1.

The purpose of the experiment was to see if the [Reality Stone] would use less energy when he prepared the possible materials for manufacturing.

Indeed! Qi Jun guessed right!

Facing the pile of old plastic and scrap metal, the [Reality Stone] responded with a message requiring only 0.7 energy!

"Wow!"

"I am really a genius!"

Qi Jun jumped up excitedly!

Of course, Qi Jun quickly abandoned this idea, continuing to keep his 14 points of energy.

After a while, Qi Jun calmed down his still excited mood and began the last experiment.

Experiment 3: Remember a complete set of firearm manufacturing blueprints, then use those scraps -- to materialize a Glock 19.

Qi Jun directly skipped the step of materializing from the blueprints out of thin air because if Experiment 3 could save energy, then it meant that directly using blueprints to arise out of thin air would definitely also save energy.

And as Qi Jun's thoughts moved, the outcome was naturally very pleasing!

The feedback from the [Mutated Stone] is...
