Chapter 18: My love life is really complicated!
I stood at the center of the bunker, my mind racing with possibilities. The Phoenix Force within Jean was a beacon of raw, cosmic power—a force of creation and destruction. Combined with my abilities, it might be possible to undo this nightmare, to reset the timeline to a point before the quantum virus took hold.
But there was a price.
Jean looked up at me, her fiery eyes filled with trust and hope. She'd been through hell, yet she still stood strong beside me. It was a cruel twist of fate that the solution might mean losing her. I guess no matter the universe, my luck with women is terrible.
"Jean," I said softly, my voice barely audible over the murmurs of the survivors. She turned to me, her expression softening as she caught the weight in my tone.
"What is it, darling?" she asked, concern flickering in her gaze.
I hesitated, gripping FrostMourne tightly as I struggled to find the right words. "I think I can fix this," I began, "but it's not just a patch job. We're talking a full reset—a clean slate for this universe. The infection, the devastation, all of it... will be undone."
Her eyes widened, and she stepped closer. "You can do that? You can undo all of this?"
"With your help and the Phoenix Force alongside my Nihility," I nodded. "But it comes with a catch.
A reset means everything goes back to the way it was before the virus. Every choice, every moment... erased. That includes us, Jean. You won't remember me. or anything we had."
The weight of my words hit her like a freight train. She stumbled back a step, her hands trembling as she processed what I was saying. "No," she whispered. "There has to be another way. We can find another way!"
"I've thought about it," I said, my voice steady but heavy with regret. "I've run the calculations in my head a hundred times over.
This is the only way to save everyone—every soul, every innocent life lost to this virus. If I don't do this, this universe is doomed, and it's only a matter of time before it spills into others. I'll have to erase it completely then."
Jean's breath hitched as she looked into my eyes. "Everything we've shared will be gone forever?"
I met her gaze, my resolve firm. "Yes."
Tears welled in her eyes, and for a moment, I thought she might protest. Instead, she took a deep, shuddering breath and stepped closer, placing her hands on my chest. "You're a stubborn, self-righteous idiot," she said, her voice cracking. "But… I understand. I was the one who asked for it. I just didn't know the price I'd have to pay."
I smiled faintly, placing my hands over hers. "You're stronger than you think, Jean. The Phoenix chose you for a reason. You'll be fine. You'll find your way, even without me."
She shook her head, her tears falling freely now. "I don't want to forget you."
"I'll remember for the both of us," I promised, leaning down to press a gentle kiss to her forehead. The fiery energy of the Phoenix flared briefly at the contact, as if it, too, understood the gravity of this moment.
** R-18 again!**
As the weight of our decision settled in, Jean's eyes burned with a desperate intensity. She pulled me closer, her lips crashing into mine with a fierce urgency. I felt her tremble beneath my touch, her body arching into mine as if she could absorb me into her very being.
We stumbled backward, our mouths still locked, until we reached the edge of the bunker's makeshift bed. Jean pushed me down onto the blankets, her hands tearing at my clothes with a frantic energy. I helped her, shedding my armor and clothes in a hurry, my own desire rising to match hers.
She looked into my eyes and spoke, " If tonight's our last, I want to engrave your memory in my mind. I refuse to forget you, my love."
As we lay naked together, Jean's eyes roamed over my body, drinking in every detail. She touched me everywhere, her fingers tracing the lines of my face, the curve of my shoulders, the contours of my chest. I felt her desperation, her need to memorize every inch of me, to carve my image into her memory forever.
I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her close as we kissed again. Our tongues tangled, our breaths mingling, as we moved together with a frenzied passion. Jean's legs wrapped around mine, her heels digging into my back as she pulled me deeper into her.
We fucked like it was the last night on earth, our bodies slamming together with a wild abandon.
Jean's cries echoed off the bunker's walls, her voice hoarse from shouting my name. I felt her climax building, her muscles tensing, and then she was coming, her body shuddering beneath mine.
As we caught our breath, Jean's eyes locked onto mine, her gaze burning with a fierce intensity. "I'll never forget you," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I'll never forget this."
I smiled wistfully . "I'll remember for the both of us," I repeated, my voice cracking.
Jean's hands framed my face, her thumbs tracing the lines of my cheeks. "Look at me," she said, her eyes burning with a desperate urgency. "Look at me, and remember everything ."
I gazed into her eyes, drinking in the beauty of her face, the fire that burned within her. I memorized every detail, every curve, every line. I etched her image into my mind, into my heart, into my very soul.
As we lay there, wrapped in each other's arms, I knew that this was it. This was our last night together, our last moment of intimacy, our last chance to love each other before the reset. And I was determined to make it count, to make it last, to make it unforgettable.
**R-18 end**
Jean and I stood in the heart of the ruined world, the air crackling with the combined energies of FrostMourne and the Phoenix Force. Around us, the remaining survivors had gathered, their expressions a mixture of hope and sorrow.
They knew something monumental was about to happen—something that would change everything.
I held Jean's hands tightly, feeling the warmth of the Phoenix within her, burning brighter than ever. "Are you ready?" I asked, my voice steady despite the whirlwind of emotions inside me.
Jean nodded, her fiery eyes locking onto mine. "I'm ready."
She wrapped her arms around me and pulled me into a kiss, perhaps our last one. Together, we unleashed our power. The Phoenix's light, bolstered by Nihility consumed the dark tendrils of the quantum virus, erasing its existence from every corner of the universe. Time bent and folded as reality began to reset itself. Cities were restored, lives rewritten, and the infection's taint was wiped clean.
The effort was monumental, draining every ounce of energy from us. I could feel the fabric of the universe mending, aligning itself with the original timeline. And then, it was over.
I awoke in a restored world. The ruins were gone, replaced by a vibrant, bustling city. The air smelled clean, the sky was clear, and the scars of the apocalypse had vanished. It worked.
I took to the skies, my powers allowing me to soar above the newly reset Earth. From the sprawling metropolis of New York to the rolling countryside, everything was as it should be. Life was thriving, and there was no trace of the horrors that had plagued this universe.
Eventually, I found myself hovering above the familiar grounds of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. The grand mansion stood proudly, its walls untouched by devastation. Children played on the grounds, their laughter filling the air.
And there she was.
Jean was walking across the courtyard, her red hair catching the sunlight. She laughed at something one of her friends said, her face radiant with happiness. It was a sight that tugged at my heart and filled me with bittersweet pride. She was safe, living the life she deserved.
I stayed hidden among the clouds, watching her from a distance. My chest tightened as I realized that this was goodbye. She didn't remember me, and that was how it had to be.
Her world was perfect now, untainted by the chaos that had brought us together.
I smiled faintly, the bittersweet reality settling in. She was safe. They all were. That was enough.
As I turned to walk away, I whispered under my breath, "Goodbye, Jean. Take care of yourself."
I disappeared into the void. My work here was done. I drove my mutiversal car as I sighed , " I really am not fit to be a hero."
As David vanished into the horizon, Jean stood in the courtyard, her fiery aura flickering faintly. She couldn't understand why she felt as if something valuable was gone forever. Her heart ached with a hollow, unbearable loss.
But then, something changed.
A sudden warmth surged through her chest, the unmistakable embrace of the Phoenix Force. Jean's eyes widened as the energy enveloped her, filling her with a power so profound it felt as though the universe itself was whispering to her. She fell to her knees, clutching her head as a flood of memories cascaded through her mind.
She saw everything—the day she met David, the battles they fought side by side, the tender moments they shared, the way he looked at her as if she were the only thing that mattered in the universe.
She felt his touch, heard his voice, and relived their last night together with a clarity so vivid it left her breathless.
"No…" she whispered, tears streaming down her face. "David…"
The weight of it all crashed down on her. He had left, believing she would forget him, believing she would move on without him.
But the Phoenix, the cosmic force that bound them had other plans. It had preserved their bond, ensuring that no amount of time or distance could erase what they shared. She heard a faint sad whisper in her mind, " Remember him Jean, bring him back to us."
Jean buried her face in her hands, sobbing uncontrollably. The pain of his absence was like a physical wound, and yet, beneath the sorrow, there was a flicker of determination.
She stood slowly, her legs trembling but her resolve unshaken. Her eyes burned with a familiar fire as she clenched her fists. "You can't leave me, David," she said, her voice cracking, with something unhinged . "I won't let this be the end of us. hehehe~"
Jean turned her gaze to the sky, where David had disappeared moments before. The Phoenix within her flared to life, its fiery wings unfurling as if in agreement. She could feel it—his energy, faint but present, like a distant star calling out to her.
"I'll find you," she vowed, her voice echoing with the power of the Phoenix. "No matter where you are, no matter how far, I'll find you." Her eyes glowed red with a chaotic power.
With that, Jean began to prepare. She returned to the mansion, hiding her pain behind a mask of determination. She immersed herself in her training, honing her powers to levels she had never reached before.
The Phoenix guided her, its ancient knowledge revealing glimpses of the multiverse and the paths she might take to reunite with the man she loved.
Every night, as she lay in bed, her thoughts drifted to him. The memories they shared were her anchor, her motivation to keep pushing forward.
She kept looking for something that might help her connect to him, and she came across the knowledge of darkhold.
There, she found a spell called ' Dreamwalking', that could help her connect with an alternate self of hers, to find David across the vast mutiverse.
though she didn't know how long it would take or what obstacles she might face, she knew one thing with absolute certainty:
Their story wasn't over.
