Marvel: I Started by Containing SCPs

Chapter 254: Chapter 254

"It's really him!"

Fury's expression shifted as soon as the man on the screen introduced himself.

"What's wrong, Fury? You look like you've seen a ghost," Stark remarked, noticing Fury's change in demeanor.

"Nothing," Fury quickly replied, masking his unease with a calm expression.

Stark didn't believe him but chose not to press further.

"Why is Banner there? Isn't he supposed to be on the run from General Ross?" Fury thought to himself.

As the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., he was well aware of classified information regarding the Hulk. General Ross had been conducting a worldwide manhunt for the green behemoth, causing no small amount of chaos.

If Bruce Banner was there, then...

Fury immediately sent a message to Agent Hill:

"Track down General Ross's location."

Returning his attention to the screen, Fury watched as Bruce Banner struck up a conversation with Cain.

Perhaps it was because both of them seemed out of place in a bar, but the two quickly found common ground.

"You're saying you came from another universe and just appeared here without warning? Are you messing with me? You don't look drunk," Bruce remarked, his face flushed from alcohol, his eyes filled with skepticism.

"I'm not lying. Believe it or not, it's up to you," Cain said with a shrug, taking a sip of his drink.

"What about you? Why are you here drinking alone? You don't seem to be in the best mood," Cain asked.

"I wasn't going to share, but since you told me such a wild story, I'll tell you one of my own," Bruce said, hiccupping before continuing.

"Would you believe me if I told you that half a month ago, I was a respected scientist? An accident during an experiment turned me into a monster. I may look normal now, but the moment I get angry or my life is in danger, I transform into a massive, green, incredibly strong monster."

"That transformation has made me a fugitive, hunted by the military everywhere I go."

Bruce spoke with a bitter tone, the weight of his experiences heavy on his heart. The absurdity of his situation was something he couldn't share with anyone, yet the stranger before him seemed safe enough to confide in.

Instead of reacting with skepticism or ridicule, Cain listened intently, his expression thoughtful.

"You're not going to laugh or call me crazy?" Bruce asked, surprised by Cain's reaction.

Cain smiled and shook his head.

"To be honest, your abilities are nothing compared to what I've seen. You're strong, sure, but I've encountered monsters dozens, even hundreds of meters tall. Your transformation doesn't even come close."

"Wait, are you serious?" Bruce's disbelief was clear on his face, the alcohol haze beginning to lift.

"I never lie," Cain replied with confidence.

"Well, whatever. Thanks for listening. I feel better now," Bruce said, raising his glass for a toast.

Suddenly, the bar's door was kicked open with a loud bang.

A group of soldiers in camouflage uniforms stormed in.

"Military operation! Everyone, hands on your head and get down!" a booming voice commanded.

A soldier fired a shot into the ceiling, causing the patrons to scream and comply immediately.

"Oh no... They caught up to me," Bruce muttered, his face pale as fear snapped him out of his drunken stupor.

Around him, people crouched on the floor, hands on their heads—everyone except Cain, who stood staring at the entrance in confusion.

"Cain, it was nice meeting you, but you need to distance yourself from me right now, or you'll get dragged into this!" Bruce whispered urgently before attempting to flee through the back door.

However, the soldiers had the building surrounded. More soldiers appeared at the back, cutting off Bruce's escape.

"Well, well, Bruce Banner. You've been a slippery one, but it's over now," General Ross sneered as he stepped forward, his cold gaze fixed on Banner.

"Can't you let me have one peaceful drink?" Bruce sighed in exasperation.

"If you'd just surrendered peacefully, I'd be in my office sipping coffee right now," Ross retorted harshly.

"Are they here to contain you?" Cain asked, piecing together the situation.

"Contain? Interesting choice of words. We're not a refugee camp. And who the hell are you, standing there without following orders?" Ross barked, shoving Cain aside.

But to Ross's shock, Cain didn't budge an inch, while Ross himself staggered back a few steps.

"What the—?" Ross muttered, staring at Cain with suspicion.

"Don't hurt him! He has nothing to do with this!" Bruce shouted, rushing to intervene.

Before he could act, a soldier jabbed a syringe into his neck, injecting a tranquilizer.

"This dose could knock out an elephant," Ross sneered as Bruce collapsed to the ground.

"Take him away," Ross ordered.

But before the soldiers could act, Bruce's body began to change. His muscles bulged, his skin turned green, and his form grew massive.

"My god! Open fire!" Ross shouted in alarm.

Gunfire and screams filled the room as the soldiers unloaded their weapons into the transforming Bruce. Bullets riddled his body, but they did nothing to stop the transformation.

The Incredible Hulk had arrived.
