The laboratory was occupied by only three or four people, but as Raven followed the lab assistant into the room, her target was immediately locked in.

A short man, wearing glasses and a beard, who resembled a dwarf.

Bolivar Treslack.

Founder of Treslack Industries, a murderer who had slaughtered countless mutants for the so-called Sentinel Program.

At that moment, there were only a few researchers in the lab. Raven quickly assessed their abilities—weaklings—and without hesitation, she walked directly toward Bolivar Treslack.

"Vita, go disassemble that body!"

Bolivar Treslack glanced at the approaching 'Vita' and casually pointed to the body on the nearby workbench.

Raven nodded and continued moving swiftly but with determination toward him.

However, just as the distance between them narrowed to only a few steps, a loud, shrill alarm suddenly blared from Bolivar Treslack's person.

Raven's heart skipped a beat, and she paused for a moment.

Bolivar Treslack abruptly lifted his head, eyes widening in terror as he looked at 'Vita' and the other lab assistant. "One of you is a mutant!"

This was his mutant radar—an alarm that would trigger whenever a new mutant got too close to him.

"Huh?"

The lab assistant froze, but Raven quickly quickened her pace, rushing toward Bolivar Treslack.

But at that moment, a shadow shot out from Bolivar Treslack's shadow and blocked his path.

Raven's eyes immediately shifted to amber, and her form reverted to her usual appearance. She glared at the figure in front of her, saying, "You're a mutant."

"What else would I be?"

The mutant grinned, his voice taunting.

If Mike were there, he would definitely recognize this mutant.

Shadow!

The same one that Mike had killed on Three Mile Island.

Raven glared coldly at Shadow and Bolivar Treslack behind him. "Do you know what he's done? And you're helping him?"

"Are you talking about those experiments?"

"You deserve to die!"

Raven's anger flared as she reacted to his calm tone.

She considered every mutant as a fellow comrade. For years, she had worked tirelessly to save them, but the mutant before her, someone who should have been an ally, was treating their own kind as nothing more than test subjects!?

Without hesitation, Raven charged forward.

Shadow smirked, and the shadows behind him began to coalesce and reshape, forming into what looked like a black shadow blade that shot toward Raven.

"Don't kill her! I need her for research!"

Bolivar Treslack shouted, his eyes gleaming as if he were looking at a rare treasure.

Shadow frowned. The shadow blade split apart, transforming into multiple shadow ropes that ensnared Raven.

Raven moved with agility, evading each shadow rope, her focus unwavering on Bolivar Treslack. After avoiding all the ropes, she surged forward with explosive power.

"Heh!"

With a mocking laugh, Shadow's shadow quickly extended to Bolivar Treslack, entangling Raven's legs and sending her flying.

Raven twisted her body midair, landing gracefully. She immediately performed a backflip to dodge the incoming attack and leaped onto a nearby lab table. Like a cat, she crouched on the table, glaring fiercely at her enemies. She grabbed a scalpel from the surface and prepared to fight Shadow again.

Bolivar Treslack watched the battle unfold, then pressed the alarm button again, finally exhaling in relief.

Soon, more guards would arrive. Bolivar Treslack was about to get his hands on this beautiful prize.

The thought brought him immense pleasure. He couldn't help but smile at Raven and say, "You think he's helping me?"

"Heh, no, beautiful lady, you've got the situation all wrong."

"I'm working for his master, Mr. Essex. It's a mutually beneficial relationship."

Raven silently noted the name "Essex" in her mind, considering how to break through the current battle.

She also saw that Bolivar Treslack had pressed the alarm. If the fight continued, she would be in danger, but Bolivar Treslack had to die.

It was time to take some risks.

A cold gleam flashed in Raven's eyes, and she charged straight at Bolivar Treslack. Black shadows rushed toward her again, but this time, she didn't dodge. Instead, she tried to break through the shadows as quickly as possible.

"It's useless," Shadow said expressionlessly as several black tendrils wrapped around Raven.

At that moment, the scalpel Raven had been holding flew from her hand and struck toward Bolivar Treslack.

The shadows instantly dissolved and formed a shield, blocking the scalpel before it reached him.

But in that instant, Raven swung her arm, and another scalpel flew out, piercing Shadow's forehead with a sharp scream.

In an instant, the black shadows vanished. Raven, like a lioness in full fury, charged toward Bolivar Treslack before he could even react. With a brutal knee strike, his facial features were shattered. In a scream that ended abruptly, she twisted his neck and snapped it with a sickening crack.

"Phew!"

Raven exhaled deeply. The lingering bloodlust in her amber eyes was chilling.

Her cold gaze shifted to the few researchers huddled at the door. She licked her lips, and in the midst of their panicked cries, she walked toward them.

Moments later, the entire lab was silent, save for Raven, the only one still alive. Hearing footsteps outside, she transformed into Bolivar Treslack's appearance. Stepping out of the lab, she greeted the guards with an apologetic smile, saying, "Sorry, I accidentally triggered the alarm. My apologies."

The guards exchanged confused looks. As the head of security stepped forward to peer into the lab, Bolivar Treslack coldly interrupted, "It's classified!"

"My apologies, Dr. Treslack," the head of security said, offering an apology. He waved to the other guards and ordered, "Move out!"

As the guards disappeared, Bolivar Treslack let out a relieved sigh.

Just then, a portal appeared, and three figures stepped through.

Raven's eyes narrowed. More mutants!

So the alarm didn't just sound in the lab—it alerted them as well?

The one leading the group had fiery red hair. He glanced at Raven and asked, "Treslack, what happened?"

"It's nothing, I—"

One of the women closed her eyes for a moment before quickly saying, "Elvin, everyone inside is dead. There's a body of Treslack on the floor."

The man named Elvin turned to Raven, his eyes narrowing as flames flickered in his hand. He coldly ordered, "Capture her!"

The woman released an invisible psychic force, and the other person raised his hand, summoning a portal behind Raven to block her escape.

Raven's heart sank as she forced a bitter smile.

There was no escaping this time.
