Chapter 46: Last Stand & Final Judgement, 1193 BCE
As the city of Troy burned behind him, Pluto was standing in front of the tall doors of the palace. He touched the door, feeling carvings on it. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and finally, he kicked the door so roughly that the hinge fell off, making the doors flown away to the insides of the palace.
“Their hiding.” said Idemnon behind him. “Inside the late king’s chamber.”
Pluto didn’t say anything, and he walked towards the king’s chamber. He used the sound manipulation of Camazotz to scan the entire Palace, so he knew where they were.
As each of Pluto’s steps echoed throughout the palace of Troy, Paris was sweating like crazy, as he could hear the steps, he could feel the peer pressure that Pluto brought upon the palace.
Paris gulped. Helen, who was tied up and gagged in the corner of the room could see Paris visibly shaking. She tried to silently break free, but it isn't working so far.
The steps became louder and louder as Paris became more and more frightened. The steps were like the reaper’s whisper to Paris, calling him to face death again and again. If this scene lasts forever, Paris could very well go insane.
But fortunately, or rather, unfortunately, it won’t last forever, as Pluto was now standing in front of the door to the King’s chamber.
“I know you’re in there.” said Pluto calmly, making Paris flinch. “The guards inside, open the door, and I won’t kill you.”
The guards, who were also frightened and visibly shaking, looked at Paris. He was shaking his head furiously, demanding that the guards won’t open the door. Not that it matters anyway.
But the temptation of survival is stronger against Paris’s authority.
“Oh, and untie Helen while on the way.” added Pluto.
The guards gulped, and those two finally broke. One of them untied Helen, and the other was guarding against Paris, who was desperately trying to stop them.
Those two quickly went towards the door with Helen in their arms.
“NO!” shouted Paris desperately, he is already pissing himself over the fear of imminent death.
The two guards quickly opened the door using the keys. But as soon as the door opened, the one in front of the door was stabbed in the head by Pluto from belom, and the other guard behind was grabbed by the head, and was slammed against the wall as the acid at Pluto’s palm melted his face.
“ARGH!!!” screamed the guard who was grabbed by Pluto.
Because of the scream, Paris also screamed, he cowered in the corner, the floor wet with his piss, and he was crying uncontrollably.
“Pluto!” shouted Helen excitedly. She didn’t care about the two dead bodies near her, she just wanted to hug him.
As soon as Pluto heard Helen’s scream, his gaze softened, and he dropped the already dead guard to hug her.
“Are you okay?” questioned Pluto softly as they were still hugging.
Helen flinched as he asked that. “I-”
Pluto understands, and shushes her. “Okay, you don’t have to say… I’m sorry… I should’ve been there…”
“It’s not your fault.” said Helen while she was sobbing. “I- It was sudden.”
“No. I should’ve been there, I’m sorry…” murmured Pluto again, rubbing his hand at Helen’s back, trying to calm her.
After a couple of seconds, Pluto breaks away from the hug. “Get out of the room Helen, and wait for me.” he said as his gaze turned cold again, looking at the cowering Paris.
Helen just nodded softly, and got out of the room. She then heard Pluto say. “Cover your ears.”
Helen gulped, and she closed the door. Because she didn’t really want to hear the sounds, she hid herself in another room, and closed her ears, just in case.
Meanwhile, Pluto was slowly walking towards Paris, enjoying the reaction Paris had each step he took.
“H-have mercy…” pleaded Paris, not looking at Pluto’s face at all.
Pluto was now standing in front of him, staring at him with his cold violet eyes.
“Fear,” said Pluto suddenly. “Is this your first time feeling it?”
Paris didn’t say anything, instead he kept cowering in the corner.
“Speak.” Pluto commanded. “I asked you a question.”
“N-No…” answered Paris quickly.
“I see…” Pluto hummed. “Can you tell me then? The feeling of fear… it’s been a long time since I felt fear.”
Paris was even more frightened. He didn’t say anything, he just kept backing away.
“Not answering?” Pluto’s eyebrows were raised. “Fine, I’ll force it from you.”
Pluto took one step, and Paris flinched. Pluto then raised his hand, his palm facing Paris’s body. And slowly but surely, drops of acid started to fall towards Paris’s legs, making Paris scream in pain.
“ARGHH!!” shrieked Paris.
“It’s painful isn’t it?” questioned Pluto. “This acid is supposed to heighten your pain receptors to the maximum, so you’ll be experiencing pain in the purest form, even an eternal like me couldn’t handle it.”
“ARGHHH!!! PLEASEEEE!!!”
“Please what?”
“PLEASE STOPPPP!!”
“Oh, but I can’t.” Pluto chuckled, but then his face turned cold again. “We’ll stay here for a little while. I’ll return Helen’s pain that was caused by you, times one thousand.”
And so, the echoes of Paris’s screams travelled towards the palace until the sun sets, and dawns again.
—
Pluto was still standing in front of Paris, who was now a mess of a human. His skin was burned to the max, there was no humanity left in him, foams were coming out of his mouth, and his eyes were rolled to the back.
Despite this, he could still talk.
“P-Peeeass…” spoke Paris in a broken voice.
Pluto kept his cold gaze, he didn’t stop, the acid kept dropping to Paris’s mortal body. He should be dead by now, but he’s awfully strong.
Pluto, seeing that he won’t get any reaction anymore, stopped. He closed his palm, and conjured his bident.
“You believe in the god of the underworld right, Paris?” questioned Pluto.
“Pleaaass…”
Pluto sighed. “Then I will send you to the underworld myself.” said Pluto as he raised his bident towards Paris.
“I sentenced you to the deepest depths of Tartarus.” said Pluto coldly. “May you be tortured for eternity, if there’s even Hell.”
Pluto then flicked his bident, cutting Paris’s heads cleanly.
Pluto took a deep breath. And he dropped his bident.
“It’s done…” he said to himself, he seemed dissatisfied, but he couldn’t do anything.
He turned around, and he started to walk towards the door. But he was suddenly called. His eyes turned golden, his vision turned dark, and the area around him suddenly expanded.
A moment later, his vision recovered. And he saw his supposed ‘creator’, Arishem, standing in front of him with his inexplicable size.
